He was trying to do Potemkin's only "reversal", wherein you cancel the startup frames of HPB with a fast PRC to get a grab during their whiff frames. If he was trying to just HPB to escape, he would of, as Pot would have just sailed out of the corner.

It's so unusual, right? They're clearly practiced in conventional play but sometimes just stand still or go for unusual options.

This Potemkin is doing some wacky ass timings + routes and I'm all for it
As A.B.A. has a move to fill her gauge if she can predict when the enemy will strike, it'd probably be a good idea to try to be harder to predict
