That is a beauty, and in nice original condition! I'm glad your polishing compound didn't damage the decals, it sure looks great with a coat of wax, there is nothing quite as nice as the original finish for sure! These were some of the best outboards produced by any manufacturer, wish they could still be produced today... But, it has to be mixed at 16:1, don't listen to any claims that the oil mix can be reduced with todays better two stroke oils. The rods have plain bronze bearings and need the extra lubrication. The beauty of these engines is that when in good tune they dont' smoke much at atll, even at 16:1
I have the same motor. Mine was full of mice stuff. My Wife cleaned it as best she could and it is much better now. I did all of the usual stuff to it. It runs realy good. And it was a free motor to boot. And you make a nice video. Have a great day.
Wow, nice, nice, nice. Did you look for spark, and check for compression before laying down your cash? How did you find it? Can I ask how much you paid? Pretty girl ya got there.
Hi Ken. Thanks for watching!! I found this on Kijiji and I think it was around $150. And no I never checked anything other than it turned over. It was in very good original cosmetic condition and that seems harder to find than the parts you might need to get them running. Happy boating!
That's a big dollop of cutting compound. The motor looks great. Is that a foam pad on that polisher? I have a polisher the same as that. If the paint is ok do you have to cut before you polish??

Thanks! Yeah those little motors in the '50s were so well made and they look so good.
The knobs are backwards The little ones goes on the top and big ones goes on the bottom jet.
Oh thanks! Good to know

Thanks! yes a foam pad. They soak up a lot of compound the first time you use it. If the paint isn't too oxidized you could try just the polish.
Красота
great looking motor how does it run
Thanks! Yeah runs pretty good. Fired it up in the next video.
It’s been “Shined Up”…. not a Restoration.
