Great video mate. In OZ unfortunately no neutral run to most of the switch boxes, so an additional task to run a cable for the light dimmers / smart switches.
Hi Dave getting the metal boxes out of the wall on some houses built in new zealand during the 1960s and 70s, The builders nailed them right through with 4 inch nails instead of screws as your video shows. then you have to cut away a section of wall to remove the box.
Quick question Dave, Australia here, i had a look at my 4 gang light switch, from what I see it has 2 live wire from power switch box to one too light switch common and another on directly bottom light switch common, is that normal? Besides that the 4 gang common is looped as well, like your video. I was wondering if it's because it may not providing enough power, hence the sparky added another live wire from the box to one of the common light switch?
Thanks mate, really appreciate it. So reds loop into another. I’m changing from hpm to clipsal iconic and it seems like there are some black cable and green also connected. I’ll need to double check that tomorrow. So the C is the common which loops to all switches yea? The 1 is to place all the on/off for each individual light? And the number 2 is for? Then there is a loop which you said is just a holder of a live wire? Thanks mate
I'd like to find them too! It sounds like his accent is Australian. Maybe those switches are something that won't work with our lower voltage/high amperage electricity in US?
