Welcome back to Jade Joob! We are back and for this series we are playing Kingdom Hearts
I am so excited to play Kingdom Hearts for the first time!
I can't wait to stream my whole Kingdom Hearts Playthrough with you all. I hope you all join me in each Video!
Kingdom Hearts is a series of action role-playing games created by Japanese game designers Tetsuya Nomura and Shinji Hashimoto, being developed and published by Square Enix. It is a collaboration between Square Enix and The Walt Disney Company, and is under the leadership of Nomura, a longtime Square Enix employee.
A young boy of 14, Sora and his friends Riku and Kairi dream of visiting outside worlds away from their home on Destiny Islands . So they decide to build a ship to sail out of there, but the night before Sora has weird dreams about darkness and light. He wakes up not knowing if their real or not.

Fun fact about the second Riku fight: Back on the Playstation 2 there was no option to skip cutscenes. Since this is a pretty difficult fight it took many tries to beat him. Talk to any OG Kingdom Hearts fan, and we're able to recite the entire cutscene word for word at 30:50 because we had to watch it so many times and ended up unintentionally memorizing it all 😂

God, Billy Zane as Ansem. What a voice. Like the molten chocolate oozing from a lava cake when it's low, majestic malevolence when it's raised.
I dont know much about Billy Zane!
But he does an amazing job voicing Ansem!
He's the bad guy in Titanic, if you've ever seen that. And to quote the movie Zoolander, "listen to your friend Billy Zane, he's a cool dude."@@JadeJoob
Yeah, playing this on the original (non nerfed) PS2 WAS BRUTAL. For me, this was honestly the hardest boss in the game. Died so many times. And those non skipping cutscenes, very painful 😖 lol
Everything regarding Ansem was added late in development, after someone told Nomura that a more complicated game would sell more.
The game would originally end after defeating Maleficent, after Sora and the Disney princes stormed Hollow Bastion to rescue the princesses. Aladdin wanting to join Sora alluded to this.
The Witch and Defender Heartless both drop weapons for Donald/Goofy
As indicated, the Heartless become much stronger after this. If you wait until now to complete certain levels (Wonderland or the Coliseum, Monstro or one of the other levels in that batch), the bosses will also be stronger.

Great job with the riku boss fight. It can be challenging!
The scene with sora's sacrifice wasn't something I thought I'd see in this game. Sora is a really special kind of character.
32:57 is the spot so most of us became men because we needed to fend for Kairi but also replayed over and over cuz skipping cutscenes was not a feature in the original release. (At least the ones born in the 90s that played the game) if not here, maybe when Aerith died or Ariel (wind water) got kidnapped. Idk, fight me lol
Hang on to that Oathkeeper Keyblade Kairi gave you. It's legit one of the best Keyblades in the entire game.
47:36 You have to remember, Kairi’s Heart was inside of Sora along with his own. And we learned in Sora’s first visit to Traverse Town that when someone loses their Heart or their Heart is overwhelmed by darkness, they become a Heartless.
Riku’s Keyblade had the power to unlock Hearts, flood people’s Hearts with darkness, and free them from people’s bodies. Sora used Riku’s Keyblade on himself to free Kairi’s heart from his body, even though he knew it would mean losing his own Heart and becoming a Heartless.
So the Heartless you play as during this segment is actually Sora’s Heartless.

I recognize that combat with Riku/Ansem was very difficult 😬 but you did manage your way through like you always do 😊

Something I like about kh1, it's that all party members get the same exp even if they are dead or out of the party.
It is very useful haha!

I love that part of the game where you just randomly start playing as a Heartless and have to realize that it’s Sora. It’s still one of my favorite parts of KH1 even though I know it’s going to happen now lol

Dark powers are powerful, but they also come at a price.
I can see you are really getting into this.
Some combat tips if i may.
I noticed you using a shorter keyblade.Some of the whiffs (missing attacks on enemy movement) are due to using a shorter keyblade.
Stats are obviously important to a keyblade but the hitbox length DOES change with each keyblades shape.
Another tip is to not heal on the ground as it locks you in position.
If you jump THEN heal in midair you'll still be moving somewhat and aren't locked into the recovery animation for the same length of time.
Hopefully this is useful info to you in any further fights.
I am slowly but surely getting better haha :)

@@JadeJoob you are doing perfectly fine for a first timer.
Most of the KH games are easy enough you don't need to figure out everything but the exception is obviously end game bosses, hidden Super Bosses and the like as they will push the game mechanics and your skills to the limit.
Rather paradoxically, the KH series has some of the hardest optional Bosses out there.
They are fantastic fights and I would recommend them if you like taking on a challenge.
Also, I hesitate to bring it up but you won't know they exist unless someone tells you.
Will you be collecting all the Ansem reports and getting the secret endings?
Every KH game contains some sort of collectable report that will detail the lore (if it's your thing) and usually a secret page relating to the next game a Super huge lore secret is revealed upon collecting them all or defeating a Super Boss.
Sometimes these lore revelations are Super Bosses themselves.
Of course, you can completely ignore the extra stuff and get a great experience but if you are really into it the extra lore and fights will really hype you up, particularly in any game that has "Final Mix" in the title (as this indicates the devs included extra content compared to the base games original release)
Hopefully I am not talking your ear off, so to speak and I tried not mentioning anything specific so as not to spoil the games.
Half the fun with playing these games is wondering "What's coming next"

Sora stabbing himself with that Keyblade set a side story which culminated with KH 2.
I really wish you used Sonic Blade, Strike Raid, Arse Arcanum, and Ragnarok. Take advantage of your abilities in KH2!
Turns out Maleficent wasn't the real mastermind behind this after all, its been this ANSEM who was using her all the time and she never knew. Also that was amazing what Sora and then Kairi did for each other there.
Been loving the playthrough! Making sure to give a like to every video too, haha. I hope you'll be up to jumping into the next entry fairly soon after you finish up this one! Has anyone mentioned the order that they should be played? It's very specific! (For instance, the next title would be Chain of Memories after this one, and not jumping straight into Kingdom Hearts 2.) Also, one question if you don't mind. What camera do you use? I just upgraded mine, but I still don't like the quality. It's hard trying to find something that's not either super expensive or super cheap...
I can't tell you how many times it took me to beat kh1 on normal when I had a ps2
