To me, this should have been the formula that the show should have taken in the ensuing years after each class of kids graduated from McKinley. The next group of kids comes in and has their own stories, their own songs, their own identities. Rachel and the others could have been used to make guest appearances every now and then, but the story of a High School Glee Club was what it was originally intended and that should have been the focus as the students graduated and moved on.
