I had a 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster that had a vacuum shift for second gear. You could always hear it when I shifted gears. I really liked the car and sound.

I am 72 years old. When I was growing up my parents had a 1956 Chevrolet BelAir that had the six cylinder engine and the 3 speed column shift. The 1956 Chevrolet had the same gear whine sound in first and second gear. It sure seems like the three speed manual transmission changed very little from 1939 to 1956.
This is a real war time car and 1939 was the year the 2nd world war started great car still looks amazing condision as it did when it left the showroom 83 years ago in 1939😀
Very nice!!, I still have my grandfather's 39 master 85 4 door he bought new that I have been working on for quite a while now. Currently in pieces but someday it will look just like yours, as back to factory original as possible!!

@@chevychristian4734 my comment wasn't about how the Chevy ran,it was about the vacuum wiper motor slowing while the car is accelerating. It may be that your wiper motor has been replaced with an electric motor.

I previously owned one and it ran well. But was difficult in the rain because the vacuum wiper motors slowed to a stop while accelerating.
Ok, I never had that problem, it runs great in all weathers 😊😊
