    The big problem here is the Government gave the media $55 million in extra funding during Covid that it should have never given out even if it was done with innocent intentions. Media organisations are not essential businesses and that $55 million could have been used elsewhere on actual essential business that needed help staying afloat during Covid. It also sends the wrong perception out to the public because it can give the impression the government is paying the media to do what the government wants.

    • @RustyViewer
      @RustyViewer Před 8 měsíci

      Media feared that if they pissed off the government by asking too many questions their funding would be cut so they became government propaganda instead. There were a number of things from the so-called official narrative that should have been questioned but they never were. In fact the opposite occurred; anyone one who disagreed with the government was reported as spreading disinformation by the media and labelled such things as conspiracy nutcases, racists, bigots, and right wing extremists. BTW, everyone in NZ should watch the documentary "River of Freedom". It's a real eye-opener.
