Yesss! I’ve wanted to see you take on Karpov again for ages. Also the Karen joke at the beginning...brave man
Analysis starts at 5:05.
" I have to go to wheel of fortune to buy a vowell!!!"😂😂😂 I lost it!!lol omg underrated.
@24:22 SCCOWELL asks a question that had been on prix for at least 3 minutes lol
Go Ben!
What was the game Karpov lost that he had overturned? I couldn't find it online. Searched by this game to identify the tournament and still could not find it.
For the Ng2 game black lost because he played Kd7 instead of Kd6 and Bh1 instead of Kd5
B sharp does exist, but is a riveting pun nonetheless.
Once Upon A TimeIn America is a 1984 Sergio Leone film. The Tarantino film is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
cool series
35:00 there is no such thing as too much feet in a Tarantino film
This castling comment about the three moves repetition in 25:50 makes a lot of sense, is it included in the rule? If you have a position where your king can castle and then the game goes on and you move your king back and forth and you reach the same position but without the castling rights, should it be counted as the same position?
If I were making the rules, I'd consider the board different when casting rights has changed. I'd guess some venues differ on this point
He couldn't find the word "clearance". The truth hurts.
U rock Benjaminus! A WIZARD in disguise!
Should I assume the draw thing works for bishops and queen if some of my pawns have shapeshifted into bishops and queens?
No. The number of pawns would have to be different. Hence the position is different
Man, how come with Kasparov we only got doofus opponents instead of Karpov, but Karpov gets his stream started with a win over Kasparov? Ridiculous.
Kasparovs opponents were top ten in the world...Kasparov is just that good
@@iLikesTheCoke Kasparov's opponents are doofus compared to Karpov... Karpov was just that good
To elaborate, the #3's during that era (after Korchnoi got old) were Alexander Beliavsky and Jan Timman. It just shows how big the notoriety gap is between not just Kasparov and the rest, but Karpov and the rest too. It's important to see Kasparov really beat Karpov to know he was clearly better. (But then we saw the opposite in the Karpov lecture. If Kasparov is at least the third best ALL TIME, what does that say about Karpov?)
Don’t worry so much about who is better than whom. Just try to enjoy the lecture and learn more about chess.
Kind off a weird comment on a game where Kasparov plays Karpov and loses.
@@Blaisem wtf are you even saying? In five world championship matches Karpov had chances to win every single one. Overall he scored 19 wins to 21 losses, with 104 draws.
27:00 what if it's the bishops that are switched 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I also wear 6E shoes
11:02 is good name for anti acne gel
Nah, the audio is still bad, in Ukraine we can't hear you.
Ben loves Karen Karen loves Ben
I would hope so....Ben is already a 2 time loser in the marriage game. Apparently his moves off the board aren't as good as on the board.
I love Kasp but if adjournments didn't exist Karpov would be the greatest chess player of all time and the longest-reigning world champion. Many crucial games that Kasparov won in their WC matches was due to
adjournments, Garry running and playing for time to confer with his seconds. It's sad really. Their WC record was 144 draws - 21 wins Kasp 19 wins Karp. MANY of Garrys wins were because of preparation after adjourning games. Even in loosing positions, Kasp would return, magically playing the correct variations after getting outplayed. What an atrocious injustice to Karpov. Karpov said that himself in a post-documentary. That Garry stalled for adjournments. Karpov was 100% better than Kasparov over the board. Kasparov had a better team.
I mean Karpov had one million GMs helping him and extremely favourable terms in all the matches. Karpov also has many "magic" adjournment wins against Kasparov
Not to mention Kasparov's peak rating even with 20 years of inflation is higher than Magnus' current rating while Karpov's rating peaked in mid 2700s
@@stopwritingthatreplyjohnat6638 And yet Karpov has won more GM-level tournaments than anyone in history. An all-time great, without question.
Karen reminds me of Mary Steenburgen.
Babba Fet makes moves and confuses 90 %
Karen mentioning Chessmaster tutorials. I remember Waitzkin featuring Waitzkin-Finegold games. Some of those lessons were really long, fell asleep to one of them more than once when trying to follow along.
Are these lessons on that old computer game Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition?
@@josueramirez7247 Yes. They have Yasser, Larry Christianson and Josh each doing their own courses. I think you can find them on CZcams but the chess "personalities" are fun to play against if you get the game. Although they don't play like humans you get a nice curve of difficulty.

Your Portnoy's complaint pun was lost on them. Nice analysis and humour.. Nein !
Geez ....lol
Now they draw cause they are better.
geez Seirawan played like ass
Yasser has beaten Karpov though. It's not like he was that much better
That doesn't mean much because remember Yasser was at some point a top 15 player in the world. I cannot describe how much better Karpov was though
You underestimate Grandmaster Seirawans strength. Multiple time US champion and he had peaked at about 2650. At the time some of the highest ratings were about 2700.
5:05 Karpov vs Kasparov
30:10 Karpov vs Korchnoi
55:30 Karpov vs Ehlvest
1:04:45 Karpov vs Kasparov
1:23:15 Seirawan vs Karpov
Thank you so much! 👌😊That's the only thing which was missing in the video description. Year and place (or game number) would be even better, specially for the games against Garry. The 2 of them did play quite a few of them.😁
