I'm a preschool teacher myself and I'm SO GLAD that TSL did this as one of their vlogs! I'm constantly having no to explain my job to my friends and family and they never really seem to understand hahaha. Love this!

Uh mine is unpredictable. But then after meals we get fruits. My preschool gave us pears,apples and watermelon.

I'm extremely shocked and surprised that kids at their age are already learning science circuits? Like wow, they are even doing it practically and I just started last year and I only did it once. Not only that, cupcakes?! REALLY WHAT 😱 I just started taking FNN this year officially and I'm still clueless about what ingredients to use and stuff like that. Kids at their age learning these stuff just makes me look kinda dumb and ashamed? I feel so stupid.-.

I guess this is one of the better preschools/childcare centres in Singapore 🙂
Actually, surprisingly it isn't! the standard of preschools in singapore has improved quite significantly over the last decade.

i'm 25. when i was kindergarten, we would sing this after sch... "goodbye teachers, goodbye my friends. one by one and no pushing and no running. thank u teachers, see you *insert nxt sch day*"

I was in My First Skool too. I miss that place so mush! I have tears in my eyes now! In 2014, after my graduation, I was devastated to leave. I went to the Ang mo kio branch. I still miss going to preschool there. I had many great friends, memories and teachers! I am forever grateful to everyone in my first school that made my preschool days wonderful!

i had porridge and pandan cake....the pandan cake still haunts me (there was once we had to eat it for an entire week) but welp at least there was fud . FUD IS LIFE
When I was a preschooler, unfortunately Apple was not invented and all I played was toys and I couldn't even read until I went to primary school this is sad

In my Preschool:
Monday: We had porridge
Tuesday: We had Soup with rice, potatoes and carrots
Wednesday: Macaroni soup
Thursday(mah fave): Fried rice
Friday: Kaya toast with milo

Wow. I never learnt how electricity works until P5. Props to these people for teaching them this stuff and packaging it into a simple and understandable item! These kids have it good these days

Usually got so many teachers and so many programmes in a day? Or was it because TSL was filming?
meatballsauceSAAAN I think just for filming. I've been to their centre and tbh it falls short from what they're showing in the vid. No such thing as iPad!
meatballsauceSAAAN they probably pick the best of all their programmes for the videoshoot, and also, this is over quite a few levels. Most preschools actually have ipad (or similar technology) but they dun use it everyday.
nashnasri we do have iPads in preschool which are used depending on the need of it :-)

in my year....science didn't even exist in preschool omg... all we did was reading aloud, repeating after the teachers, basic mathematics, chinese, hygiene classes, folding clothes, drama (just simple acting of course), playtime (outdoors/indoors and indoors is usually my fav bc of the cooking game !! HAHA) and lunch time, which was just peanut and chicken shredded porridge, no fruits and vegetables only every alternate days !!! (which i think is good that they improved it) . Its cool to see how much things have changed in around 13 years. :)

what the,the kids are so young and they are like learning some of p4's science!

they're fortunate to have sessions like Beehoot & Cupcake making & Learning Journey & Science things . I legit never knew there was a subject known as science until i was p3.... damn.... i wish i was a k1/k2 now ... ( 13 this year)

i always feel kinda sad when i hear people recount their preschool years with such fondness and happiness; it makes me long for those same experiences. For some reason, when i think about my years in preschool, i remember nothing but rejection and loneliness and hatred towards me lol.

MY FIRST SCHOOL WAS MY PRESCHOOL SCHOOL! I EVEN HAVE THE TEDDY BEAR MY TEACHER GAVE ME! They had changed so much when I went there....

I feel that the younger generations are getting better stuff than the older generations
In my school they have something had this programme that like teaches u how to program a robot and create ur own game n stuff n it was
So fun n like u cld program the robot to like stop when they see a black line or other robots!!

Omygosh so much better than my preschool leh. My preschool was have assembly, learn english, learn science, learn chinese and nap time and shower time and learning sometimes if not raining then we go out play in the playground and scream with the aeroplane arrives. HOW COME NO PROGRAMMING BAKING PAINTING WHAT IS THIS. we learnt circuits and metal and all when ah? PRIMARY 3! We don’t even get taught what flour should be used in home ec! We just get the recipe and bake it ourselves

Many people say these are complicated things to teach to children, but I do remember learning all these things in kindergarten. I think it could be because people who watch The Smart Local are usually teens or over that age, while I’m not even old enough to use Instagram haha.

im only 13 going 14 next year and when iwas in K2 i only learn ABC and +-/X and base chinese now they are learning science what a big change

seeing how preschool kids learn science just reminds me of how i just found out that Primary 6 students are already learning algebra.... i only learned it in Secondary school. (heck i feel old bc i've graduated from secondary school :( )

Back when i was in my first skool they didnt hv so high tech stuff T^T (all i rmb was the chinese lesson where i ate sardine puffs), and for the longest time i thought that school was actually spelled as skool
when I was in kindergarten before we eat we say a prayer then it is super awkward as I was not Christian
They learnt how circuits work in preschool?? We haven't even started it yet in secondary

.... I didnt managed to go to a kindergarten or nursery cause the school were all filled, i got sent to a childcare centre with like older primary school kids instead.... Now im just sad i missed this part of childhood
