When I watched this serial on TV in the early 1980s, I never thought that one day I will be watching the same in my phone.... thanks to the revolution in the technical growth of communication..
When this first aired in 1978, I had just arrived in London and was doing my O Levels AND trying to learn English at the same time. Needless to say, I fell in love with the show. That was the age of innocence for me.

I'll be Watching this program for ever like when it first Started in 1980s in (NEW ZEALAND) I was 8 years old I'm 46 years old now I'll (NEVER) get get sick of this program way back then we had no (WIFI) (BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS) (INTERNET) (FACEBOOK) (G MAIL) and the list goes on
They are indeed....but special mention to Barry Evans...as Mr Brown....he was so convincing as the teacher...and actually the character was a great teacher who really cared about his students. So sad and tragic his death.
Three things that I loved about this show : 1- None of the characters had any “doubts” about their gender . 2- Every single one of the characters was fully heterosexual . 3- They were proud of their religion . The teacher or principal never told the students “You’re forbidden from speaking about your religion”. Man, what a great show ! I didn’t discover it until recently (I’m not from the UK), but I must say this show was phenomenal!

I was in Saudi Arabia, every evening during r month of ramadan we wud watch this program together. My parents loved it. This was the glorious 80s when life was beautiful and we found joys in simple things. So many of these legnds have since left us; ranjeet, ali, mr. Brown, taro, juan, gladis, mrs. Courtney, sid...they all took that part of us with them. May Allah's blessing be upon them all for the joy and laughter they brought into our lives.
