- A. Lange & Söhne's director of product development Anthony de Haas, and acclaimed architect Bruno Moinard talk about the fine art of designing timeless beauty. The refinement of designing of both an architect and a watch designer show more parallels than one might expect!
The most beautiful interview ever. Proud to be Saxonia thin 37mm owner
I feel like the Saxonia Thin 37mm may be the single greatest watch ever built. Clean, classic design. I hope to own one soon. Thanks for such an excellent video!
i think though, the french gentleman wears the 40mm version ;)
Great watch, but i prefer the 1815. More classic design, and a little more flexible. You can wear it in smart casual, with a nice jumper and shirt whereas the Saxonia line is a strict suit and tie dress watch. I am flirting with the 1815 Auf/Ab in white gold.
Omg I'm crying...
Amazing video, thanks for sharing!
Might a 37mm Saxonia Thin in YELLOW gold be a possibility? Please? :)
Is it not so very perfect that Mr. DHaas is also an excellent drummer? Undoubtedly gifted with impeccable timing as well.
Quite funny that he poked fun at Rolex for increasing the Explorer's case size without using bigger hands and markers. =P
I caught that as well!
An rare oversight, subsequently corrected in the following iteration
Beautiful video!
They had the good sense to hire an expert PR firm... they obviously know their target demographic
Wow thanks thanks!
really interesting. thank you
Did ALS produced watches or limited edition in quartz style?
You mean quartz powered watches? No, not that we know of.
Great watch. But I suggest A Lange and his sons two minor changes which in my mind would raise it even further. One is to widen the lugs ever so slightly, they visually look a bit thin and frail compared to the bezel. The other is to skip the “made in Germany” text on the dial. It’s already at the back and all who knows about Lange knows that they a situated in Germany. Mercedes Benz would newer write Made in Germany on the hood or trunk. The same should go for watch makers. Put the country of production on the watch but not in writing on the dial.
I disagree with both your points. There is a proudly and distinctly German feel to a Lange, that is worth some text on the dial.
As for the lugs - they are part of the watch's charm in my opinion. I wouldn't change a damn thing.
