    I have the 39mm silver dial in automatic and it is such a fantastic and personally overlooked timepiece. Price point is reasonable, build quality is solid and feels great. No lume, but the indices are polished enough for low-light viewing. The only thing I wish was that the bracelet was smaller width wise.

    i just came across this watch and it looks absolutly amazing - sure it looks better in person.
    But to be honest the real reason i like it is because it looks VERY similar to the Rolex Explorer 1 - but this looks like a way more affordable alternative. I love the simple but bold design.

  • @tysonas1
    @tysonas1 Před 2 lety +1

    Great watch; sleek, elegant, simple. The mechanism is so precise. Crown is easy to use with smooth action.
    Warning, make sure under Automatic there is a 30bar 300m as this is the top of line Conquest. Sapphire multilayered glass for WP.
    FYI; the large box may have Made in China this means the box is made there.
    Screw open the case back and you’ll see the Swiss Made Stamp inside. The band could be made in Vietnam, but more recent version the whole watch (band too) is Swiss Made and assembled at their two century old facility.
    The watch is numbered, if it states 657, that indicates this is the 657th watch of this model. Therefore if the model first was manufactured in 2003, that’s how many there are up to yours.

    My father has the black dial one. Yes, this watch is imposing but looks sleek and it is tough, 300 meters water resistant and doesn’t look like a tool watch, pretty interesting

      John Doe Yes. It's strange. A watch which is not suitable for diving (color, no lume, no diving bezel), even though it's 300 meters. But that is great. I've the blue 43 mm quartz.

    having a quartz watch is compatible with being a "watch nerd" (witch sounds ridiculous btw) quartz watches are more accurate than automatic watches and some people just don't have the money for an auto watch, it doesn't mean that they should be excluded from the watch community.

      I think that's the Longines Hydra Conquest. It has the 12, 6 and the 9 Arabic Numerals, but not the 3.
      I like this one because to me the 12 and the 6 are more symmetrical.

    Quartz movement is exactly alive movement. Pulsating quartz crystal exactly resembles human's heart pulsation. It also like we human beings needs energy in order to be alive. And battery replacement is exactly like human heart transplantation, or new reborning for a new life.. Quartz movement also has just enough mechanical parts, rings etc, it also has jewels, just a bit less quantity than the mechanical watch. There is nothing alive in a winded spring giving the movement of rings and arrows, and moving arrow of a mechanical watch does resemble anything "alive". Seems like snobs have no clue how these both types of movements work. Just not very clever people once again have been manipulated and bullshited by Swiss watch industry marketing...

    • @TheMonsterHunterTV
      @TheMonsterHunterTV Před 4 lety

      I don't have problem with quartz but i have a problem with the price of them. The best priced ones on the market are from the big three japanese factories Seiko, Citizen and Casio. And they are the best quality ones out there. This longines is way too overprized. 400 Dollar for a watch with a movement that is worth 1,50 Dollars is too expensive.

      Static Noice People who really appreciate timepieces like this don't feel the necessity to have an automatic mechanism; if you get the automatic version of this watch on a good price you would probably pay around $600 to $800; the Longines automatic/mechanical service is needed every 4-5 years and it is aprox. $200, on a long term it would not be a good investment to buy an automatic luxury watch at this price point, plus quartz movements are also interesting and good with this brands, not as complicated as the automatic ones but they do their job nice.
