Buying this soon as my first entry level luxury piece!
I have the 39mm silver dial in automatic and it is such a fantastic and personally overlooked timepiece. Price point is reasonable, build quality is solid and feels great. No lume, but the indices are polished enough for low-light viewing. The only thing I wish was that the bracelet was smaller width wise.
I agree with the bracelet I would look nicer bit tapered
Is it gonna look good on my 6" wrist? I've been eyeing for this. Thanks in advance
@@arielbernardino1312 it's pretty large. I would look at the Sinn 556 instead
Such a beautiful watch I just wish that there was a ctaper on the Bracelet then it would be complete
Buying this soon in Black. It looks so beautiful and it will be my first luxury timepiece.
i just came across this watch and it looks absolutly amazing - sure it looks better in person.
But to be honest the real reason i like it is because it looks VERY similar to the Rolex Explorer 1 - but this looks like a way more affordable alternative. I love the simple but bold design.
Great watch; sleek, elegant, simple. The mechanism is so precise. Crown is easy to use with smooth action.
Warning, make sure under Automatic there is a 30bar 300m as this is the top of line Conquest. Sapphire multilayered glass for WP.
FYI; the large box may have Made in China this means the box is made there.
Screw open the case back and you’ll see the Swiss Made Stamp inside. The band could be made in Vietnam, but more recent version the whole watch (band too) is Swiss Made and assembled at their two century old facility.
The watch is numbered, if it states 657, that indicates this is the 657th watch of this model. Therefore if the model first was manufactured in 2003, that’s how many there are up to yours.
Bought the 41mm Automatic black dial…great watch for the money
My father has the black dial one. Yes, this watch is imposing but looks sleek and it is tough, 300 meters water resistant and doesn’t look like a tool watch, pretty interesting
John Doe Yes. It's strange. A watch which is not suitable for diving (color, no lume, no diving bezel), even though it's 300 meters. But that is great. I've the blue 43 mm quartz.
I have this one automatic white dial, new bought and im very happy.
Ordered the blue automatic in 39mm - sadly not much info on this watch in the www...
Love the fact that it got Diver specs without the Diver bezel...
longines makes some great watches
Check the Relojero . He did an unboxing exactly that model a 39mm blue conquest.
I just getting also a 41mm and 36mm fot my son and wife.
I think are beautiful elegant. heavy.
I just ordered the blue 41mm quartz version of this from Jomashop. This looks like the white/silver 43mm quartz version.
Longines makes great pieces.
Very nice I don’t have anything with a white face and I think I should do something about that!!
Good video nice watch love the way the second hand hits the markers
Serious watch crush happening right now. I think the biggest fault of the explorer/black bay 36 is the low water resistance... explorers need to swim! This watch embodies the perfect travel tool to me
I appreciate the review, but the value of the automatic seems to be holding up quite well on the secondary market -- doing better than most of the new Tudors.
always wondered if this watch would be a good purchase... true its an amazing watch from longines. However i found watches from raymond weil to be a better purchase for the similar quality. raymond weil deserves a little more respect.
I’m pretty sure the case parameters aren’t as shown in this video ;)
It’s 41mm case, 21mm lug size
its actually stated near the beging - i think his was 42mm case, 13mm thick, band 22mm
This is the 43mm size.
Lovely watch! Just got this yesterday :)
Congrats
I sold mine about 18 months ago...regret it now!
How would you say this compares to a Tag Carrera (3 hand) for quality? Of course one is auto vs Quartz. But if it was auto vs auto?
Can't explain myself why they look so big, despite the 38mm dial
I think I'ma get the 39 auto in blue this Christmas
Good luck they look nicer in person
ive got this watch in silver , i know it's a mans watch but i like big watches lol , it's certainly a heavy piece of kit , you can really tell you've got that on .
yes they are quite heavy! thank you for watching!
How much the price
Great review!!Love it just never pull the trigger
Nice watch but legibility on the conquest watches does not look great. In some light the white one is easy to read but in some light it is difficult.
Fair enough!
Is there anyway to make the band more adjustable?
300? No way..i have not seen this watch undrr 400 eur second hand.
having a quartz watch is compatible with being a "watch nerd" (witch sounds ridiculous btw) quartz watches are more accurate than automatic watches and some people just don't have the money for an auto watch, it doesn't mean that they should be excluded from the watch community.
I love all kinds of watches
Not to mention the cost of servicing an automatic watch. That is the main reason I go for quartz.
Do they do a version with the '9' on the face? I'm sure I've seen one online. It looked good.
I think that's the Longines Hydra Conquest. It has the 12, 6 and the 9 Arabic Numerals, but not the 3.
I like this one because to me the 12 and the 6 are more symmetrical.
Quartz movement is exactly alive movement. Pulsating quartz crystal exactly resembles human's heart pulsation. It also like we human beings needs energy in order to be alive. And battery replacement is exactly like human heart transplantation, or new reborning for a new life.. Quartz movement also has just enough mechanical parts, rings etc, it also has jewels, just a bit less quantity than the mechanical watch. There is nothing alive in a winded spring giving the movement of rings and arrows, and moving arrow of a mechanical watch does resemble anything "alive". Seems like snobs have no clue how these both types of movements work. Just not very clever people once again have been manipulated and bullshited by Swiss watch industry marketing...
I don't have problem with quartz but i have a problem with the price of them. The best priced ones on the market are from the big three japanese factories Seiko, Citizen and Casio. And they are the best quality ones out there. This longines is way too overprized. 400 Dollar for a watch with a movement that is worth 1,50 Dollars is too expensive.
Victorinox has the same box style 1:1
can quartz movment work 40-50years?
@@user-ye6ty1oe2u yes
Would oyster bracelet fit this watch?
In your professional opinion will this L3 759 4 96 6 watch be a better value than the Conquest VHP?
What do you mean? In the future? Collectable ?
Quartz is the way to go. Quartz forever.
Static Noice go read some books. Get educated. Then talk again. Cheers mate. I meant well.
Static Noice People who really appreciate timepieces like this don't feel the necessity to have an automatic mechanism; if you get the automatic version of this watch on a good price you would probably pay around $600 to $800; the Longines automatic/mechanical service is needed every 4-5 years and it is aprox. $200, on a long term it would not be a good investment to buy an automatic luxury watch at this price point, plus quartz movements are also interesting and good with this brands, not as complicated as the automatic ones but they do their job nice.
@@staticnoice5477 hahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahaggahaggaga........ you MUST be dreaming. The wear and tear in mechanical watches happen too fast. That will kill the precision of the watch. I don't know how to tell all here. But whatever mechanical watches can't do. Quartz watches can. It's more reliable.

Hi! About the automatic version: Can you wind it using crown? And if yes - how to do it?
you wind it just like any other watch but general rule of thumb is that you do not wind automatic watch.. turn it couple of times to get it running and that is it do not make a habit out of it
@@edcwatches could you please tell me from what position of the crown do you wind it? Clockwise or anticlockwise?
كل منشوراتك روعه 😍😍💕👌
Is edox grand ocean a waterproof watch?
42 mm .. way to big for my liking . vintage Longines 34 mm ...much better value and classy .
Marktuyet There's a 39mm version as well
Panis Angelicus In your opinion.
34mm is too feminine. A men's watch should have at least 37mm
why are people so intrested about the used marked, buy the watch, wear it, store it, give it to your kids, no need to resell pieces like theses
Too long. You can wrap it in 2 minutes and ... Is there a lume btw?
I can wrap two minutes into a 15 min video :)
The black dial version has lume. The lume itself is not Seiko level, but it does the job. They layout of the lume is great though, and makes it easy to orient the watch in the dark.
Overpriced quartz
