I know there are a lot of Roller Games fans but I was always a Roller Derby fan but in this game there are Derby skaters.

problem was the announcers were terrible.

What you are seeing is a re worked broadcast with Ed Darien and Peter Kelly that were packaged for syndication. The original broadcast of this game.would have had Elmer Anderson calling the game

@@christopherangel6690 I would have much preferred to have Elmer Anderson dong the announcing.

Totally agree the Announcers were something left to be desired. Peter Kelly is a former Roller Games Skater & this might had been his 1st broadcasts doing color. He gets slightly better later. Ed Derrian on the other hand might had been a better PA which I believe he was in Philadelphia. As a television announcer he is something less to be desired. They constantly got names & teams identifying them wrong as well. Ken Monte was the General Manager of the Chiefs too not the Bombers.

Man, I watched these when I was a kid every Saturday night. Don’t listen to the haters, back in the day this was exciting like WWE is now. It was so exciting and I really got into it. We moved when I was 10 to Northern California and the THREE channels we got on TV didn’t carry it. At 9 I was in love with Honey Sanchez 😊

I thought I'd seen all the Chief footage and always wanted to see this particular team. Thanks for finding this gem.

The quality is not great, but this does not look like the Olympic. They had the phone number on the back of the penalty box. Also, I was living in LA at the time, and I don't remember a Chiefs vs Bomber game skated there. I would have attended.

@@christopherangel6690 No this was 1974 after Jerry Seltzer's original International Roller Derby League had folded. The New York Chiefs were the only team that remained when moved over to the new Roller Games league. The Bay Bombers were resurrected later that Summer of 1974.

Ir is the Olympic Auditorium I assure you. AS one of the comments above mention the original broadcast was done with Elmer Anderson @ the microphone. This was a very poorly replayed production using different announcers. The picture quality too very poor. Remember seeing the old original version mentioned on UHF Station KBHK in San Francisco.

@@georgegong6813 , the only ISC scheduled game in LA was in February 1974, at the Forum, in Inglewood. The T Birds against the Cats. I was there. The T Birds then had west coast TBird games, and we had no clue what was going on in the East with the traveling TBirds. At the end of that season, the Chief, came out West to skate against the T Birds. I was at that game. The Bay Bombers skated at the Olympic the end of 1974. They had mostly a Derby lineup. When they appeared on TV.....it was a totally different team with Games skaters. I would have attended a Chief/Bombers game at the Olympic. For the life of me, I don't remember any game in Southern California between those teams.

Actually, it's the Chiefs mens team that looks weak. Bombers have a lot more talent. If Parker is the best choice for the "pivot", they dont have much.
