Nice that Justine confirmed for me that it's not something I need to go out and upgrade in the near future, as I have 3 of the original HomePods and a HomePod mini, but it is nice that these are back in circulation if my original ones start to give me issues in the future.

Iâve been mostly curious if the sound quality is the same. Weâve had duel 1st Gen HomePodâs left-right channels; one above _hidden_ above the kitchen cabinets by some hanging plants, and the second tucked behind some family photos in the dinning area, and together theyâve just sounded soooooooo amazing for years now. When they were discontinued I was honestly pretty devastated because I eventually wanted to expand these out, but since their return, I just want to know if thereâs been any reduction in clarity or complexity of depth. The originalâs if you play a âDolby Atmosâ album in spatial audio truly do sound absolutely unreal man.

As a design nerd, I like that they updated the packaging to better reflect the product. The Space Grey HomePod on the box looks nothing like the actual product. Great review!
I always thought as well, that people don't want something that's grey. They want something that's BLACK.
@@olympian3 the colors of the previous and new (for the dark) are almost indistinguishable. Funny how packaging and the almost indistinguishable color difference on just the darker version is the focus here. I love her videos as well but most of what she is saying is exactly the same between the old and new yet the video title is âwhat is differentâ. Like the stereo pairing on an Apple TV⊠doing that on both the old HomePod and the mini. Wish the focus of the video was actually on the differences. Oh and I can use intercom on both versions too which is also not differentâŠ.. aaahh

Great overview! Thank you... I love my original homepod and in a way I am pleased that given the sound improvement is so minor I don't need to rush out and buy the second generation. That said pairing them for a home cinema experience is very tempting after watching this

If apple made Bluetooth, wireless version, they might become the bestselling wireless speaker. Love my niece's Homepod mini but it's stuck to where it is. I must say, considering all the cutbacks, surprised it isn't cheaper than it was before BUT if it sounds better, guess that's what really matters...though hindered by Siri a bit.

The Minis will also give you temp and humidity inside your home. Like my Minis (3 in different rooms) but love my original Homepods in stereo. I have not tried them for TV because I have a good soundbar with subwoofer but expect they would be very good.

11:28 Okay now she got my respect again when she's not overselling every new Apple products like being honest about the sound quality is on par with the old one. Good now I know I can save the money n just stick with my old HomePod which I absolutely love after a few software updates and I think the sound quality is superb on it. I only wish the new one can stereo pair with the old one then I will consider about getting it..

Thanks for helping me with my decision, whether to upgrade my OG HomePods⊠I am all about the quality sound. if you cannot distinguish between the two, then I wonât upgrade. I love my OG HomePods use them for my bedroom TV speakers. Have one in each bathroom.
I have one black homepod mini and one white one for my stereo pair in my bedroom. I have other black homepod minis but idk why I just refuse to switch them out. But they sound amazing paired with a sub via an airport express second gen. I haven't felt the need to replace them with the regular sized homepods.

Iâm just happy they brought back the larger HomePod. If the only change was the removable power cord, I would be happy. I sold my two minis to get the new HomePod.

Just got a pair of HomePod mini for stereo audio for my Apple TV. How does that compare to one of the new HomePods? Only complaint I have about stereo Minis is that I donât think they are loud enough.

Hey since Apple Laptops will no longer have a Intel Processor Option does anyone know if there will still be a way to put Windows on it as a secondary OS For the soul purposes of running Windows based Games or Programs because I hear the program you'd normally use will no longer be usable on the New Laptops from the past year or so

I will mention this about the sound quality (well, itâs similar but not quite), as I do have music albums not available on streaming and they sound way better on the Gen 2. I have the albums (all of my music is ripped at 320 kbps M4A AAC; anything ripped above 256 when it streams is considered Lossless!) ripped at a high bitrate. The albums sound amazing though they are not featured on Apple Music, I can hear extreme detail in audio tracks. I was playing a Christmas song and this one track had these sound effects in it that made it sound like each of a Christmas treeâs lights were singing. Just so many sound effects at once made the Christmas song sound more alive. I could notice it on my Gen 1, but the detail was way more noticeable on the Gen 2.
I also have the 2 different colors because I have them labeled as White (Left) and Black (Right). To me, it seems better so I know which side is a certain color.
can you help to measure the diameter of the cable plug to the HomePod body? Would like to know if it can pass through my cable management hole.

If you connect the Apple TV to the Earc port you can play different sources from the TV through the Homepods
Well the wireless radio has changed quite a bit hahah you could have your signature tune following you around the house every time you walk...
Very few people bought the original homepods as there was very little one could do with them. They are nice sounding but thereâs too much to setup and they are fussy in what they play , including need an Apple Music subscription. My homepods stopped playing many of the free radio stations and I use them to only airplay movies and music . The question is if in the long run one really likes to listen to spatial sound. One shouldnât forget that there are better and bigger speakers with more natural sound for movies and music which donât require so much of setup
