- We walk through our new Blademaster MPFD300 (Multi-Purpose Form Dresser) and why we use it, rather than the standard diamond quill system. Here at b-sharp ottawa, we expect the quality of our work to be 100% the same, every time you visit. This system allows you to choose your radius(ROH) and customize your sharpening to your liking, so it’s the same every single time.
Great video Joe.
I’m guessing that the dressing wheels are Diamond or CBN because anything other than these two materials will wear which will also cause an inaccurate radius. Which is the reason you say you use this method
Correct. They are Diamond rolls.
Hey i sharpen skates on the blade master and I’m wondering how you reset the goalie skate holder
Um... correct me if I'm wrong but is the diamond stylus in the holder backwards? Because that might be why roh isn't right. Just wondering.
Yup, it is. But since we don’t have it on the machine, and that was to show how it’s used to measure ROH, it’s not effecting anything.
Thanks for the info Joe! About how long does a roller (more popular hollows like 5/8”) last you? Super interested in getting this for my little shop.
They run us approximately 1000 dressings, depending on the wheels we are using. If we are using a wheel something with ceramic in it from Blademaster or Blackstone, we have found that goes down.

Hello Sir,
How do you know please that the time has come to change the roller? Is it visible by eye or can it be checked with some tool please? Thx
@@deniskurlyukov4332 it will start to vibrate and not dress very nicely. A new wheel you touch to the stone, a worn wheel will need to placed at the wheel at an angle to keep it from bouncing
