A!
One of the best bands of the 90s, been jamming out to 90s music for weeks
Fuk ya
I love it love it, love it!!!
I want to go..u got room...lol
This is every guy's anthem at some point...I'm a metal guy and there is just something about it.
I occasionally play this at my local bar. No one has heard of the song, but i always get a, "That was a good song." from everyone sitting around the bar when i play it.
OMG! what bar do you go to?
A few around CT....its just fun to do every now and then
What rock is this Bar under? Never Heard Cumbersome?
Where you tend bar sister the American Legion !
ShamusOGrady2 Oh man, this is actually a great bar song.
She's wanting me less and I'm wanting her more 😮 hits hard
It was Spring Break 1996, junior year of high school. This song was blaring in my 94 Hyundai Excel as my buds and I drove on our first road trip. We passed a joint, chugged Jolt Cola, and didn't have a care in the fucking world.
We were young. We were invincible. We were the lords of all creation.
Can hear those windows vibrating LOL😀
JOLT!!!! Awww takes me back....
@@daverobinson6110And the vibration of the thick plastic interior being loosened by the blown, but finally ours, speakers. Nothing a few pennies between the monochromatic drooping-cloth ceiling and plastic couldn’t handle. I grieve the days of detachable-face cd players and cassette tape car radio adapters.

There’s some songs you hear for the first time and are like “holy shit that’s a good song”. This is one of those. The flow of it is amazing. Seriously
It is an awesome song. He is one hot man.
7M3 was/is one of the most underrated bands I think. They have so many good songs! This one rocks, but I also like the way they slow it down. My My. Lame. Times Like These. Hammer & A Stone...to name a few. 🤘
Now imagine listening to it when you were in the 90s as a kid and growing up in the early 2000s listening to it.
SOOO true! I love it when a song instantly speaks to you. This is definitely one of them.
If you haven't heard the rest of the album, you should. American Standard is a great album.
62 yrs young .. Resonates 😅
My daughter has reached the age where she wants to explore “old songs” 🙄 lol. So I have introduced her to all the stuff I used to listen to when I was growing up. This song brings back so many memories.
She will appreciate it when she gets older. Keep the 90s alive in the hearts of our kids! 🤘🏻
@@benseabolt1939 she does already. 😊 one of her favourite soundtracks right now is Empire Records. She’s a great kid.. I shouldn’t say “kid”. She’s 19. Lol
My daughter is asking the same. She is listening to Gorillaz, Slipknot, Mudvayne, 3 doors down, and of course seven marry three
@@brandalorian6014 yeah. My girl too. I absolutely love that she doesn’t listen to the Justin Bieber’s of this world. Lol

Saw these guy perform in a tiny bar in downtown Denver about 15 years ago. . Everybody left promptly after their set but my friend and I stuck around (were not in a hurry to be anywhere) and had chance to hang out and chat with the band for a good hour. Very cool guys, I hope they are still rocking!

I'm 57 and this song makes me feel young again. Love this song!!
Same!
I met my wife at a Seven Mary Three / 3 Doors Down Concert in 2001. Almost 20 years later in quarantine listening to great music.
Weird. I just came to this song from a 3 doors down video.
Music like this is always great
3 Doors Down made their mark in South Mississippi! Love this era of music
That's AWESOME!! CONGRATS 💐
Don't nobody give a fuck
Thumbs up if you're still listening 2020! Brings back memories of growing up times were more simpler. My father introduced me to rock and I feel in love. Cumbersome.
Been listening to quality music like this right through from the seventies till today most modern music is garbage.
Haha, I thought I'd be the only one here. Damn the 90's ruled!!!
I agree the older songs from the 70's,80's and the 90's ruled. Thank God those days are over.

My GOD - how did I not know this band existed. I am rocking out at this song. Better late than never.

Mid-90's classic - Welcome to the party!
Just discovered this week. What the heck! They were so good.

This song is a hidden gem. .. this band should get there props because right now this song is being played in a jukebox in a bar somewhere right now and people are dancing and appreciating them .

How is it hidden? It was very popular in its day.

@ebenezergatsby5848 absolutely, it was very popular in the day back then. I was just saying today it's not so popular. The gen x fans appreciate it now and love it. Today's music sucks.
I use to blast this over my vehicle PA system in Afghanistan. I just loved that feeling of being a badass when I was 34 years old and a Ranger with a mindful of righteousness and testosterone and a shit load of ammo!!

I really didn't pay attention to this song, until one of my best friend use to turn it up when it came on.. Than he passed away unexpectedly, now when I hear it I turn it up and remember him and miss him.. RIP Anthony..😢
I used to deliver pizzas back in 90s to William and Mary college and on several occasions I saw these cats playing big parties on the campus. They were awesome.
A masterpiece of simplicity. So many subtle yet brilliant lines in one song. Great voice. Great groove. Great song.
Brilliant Song!! Listening to this in Australia 2024. Great example of US Southern Rock. Reminds me of Dukes of Hazard 😊👍
This is exactly how I feel in life right now.
My kids are 13/16. Both have made playlists I am VERY proud of. This track and many others are on them and not the mainstream 90s songs from the radio but the tracks from the albums.
Heard my daughter singing WONDERWALL by OASIS the other day, i teared up.
Sooooo proud.
That's cause you're raising them right mama. GREAT JOB!!!
This has been one of my favorite songs since it came out in 1996 when I was a sophomore in high school. Just never gets old.
That's because you are cumbersome to your world. Perhaps?
Omg, '96? I can't believe it. What a great decade.
1996?😮
Same!!!!! Us kids who were teenagers back in the mid to late 90s are some of the luckiest people because we had music at it's best ❤
Same!! And we’re the same age..😏🤣
Sincerely shockingly it has become so
I wish I had realized we were at the end end of an era. I appreciate this music far too less back then. You have no idea how much it means to me now

Man what a great time to be a teenager ❤
It was!
I'm 44. I caught the tail end of the 80s and was a teenager when nirvana smells like teen spirit came out. I got to experience the best decade of music ever. I feel sorry for the kids today.
I think everyone has a strong connection to a specific time they grew up......I was born in '80 so I have great memories of the '90s too. Amazing how fast time goes when ya step back. One thing for sure, we had more freedom than teens do now. What with the "safety/fun police" now.
Class of 94' WOOOO!!
@Travis Nunnally I can echo your sentiments. I'm only 32, but I did my fair share of cassette recording from the radio to listen to my favorites in the 90s and 00s. I just don't think the current generation knows how good they have it. The smart ones will find music like this. At least I hope so.
1974 was a good year for me

The "no no no, yeah, yeah!" thing always cracked me up. 90s bands were good for at least once song on every album that filled space with yes's and no's, lmfao.
Still, that bridge kills!
The 90’s was a great time for music. Finally we GenXers had music being made by our generation. As a teen in the 80’s our music was nearly all provided by boomers, but the 90’s was when our peers got the nod.
I was a teen in the 90's and I loved so much of it.
That's an interesting point; had never thought about it like that. I think I now sound like a Boomer when I talk about the music of today. I have officially become my father.
It was a great time, and the music still holds up to this day. I'm not sure we will be able to say the same thing about the McCulture we have now.,

Not downing you, but you have to love yourself before anyone else can love you. That line is a cry of codependency. He cant be happy if he isnt with someone, anyone. And thats part of whats driving her away, his desperation and dependency. Women want a protector, a partner, a provider. I dont care what the current wave of feminists say; Women are biologically wired to desire the best men to provide the best offspring and men are no different. Take care of yourself and figure out how to love yourself and you will be surprised how quickly you will find, by accident, the love of your life.

Can't believe it's been so long. 90s music still rocks! 🤘
90's were the best! No bullshit!
You may see a lot of comments on here from people who "glorify" the 80's. The eighties was a good time yeah. I was a teen during that time. And that decade introduced us to MTV and Madonna, Micheal Jackson and pretty boy hair metal bands. But we can't just ignore the 90's. It brought in Grunge which changed the whole music scene. There was a lot of materialism and superficiality in the 80's. There were fashions that a lot of people couldn't afford, and it was at time, where the have and have nots were always being identified. The 90's brought in an era, where things were more relaxed, the fashions were affordable and attainable. Heck, during the Grunge era it was cool to look like you didn't have money. I'm glad that I was able to see the beginning of a new era
The guitar hits so hard on this song. I love it so much.

So... The 80's/90's/grungy sound was never my thing but 2023 has been a year of discovery for me at 67. I LOVE the sound! These guys...so good. I would agree with others that they were way underrated. They were also panned by the bozo critics for sounding like STP. I like what I like and critics can kiss my, well you know the rest. So much of what I found this year that I am loving, has dead guys as lead (Layne, Chris, Scott, Chester) OR in the case of 7M3, they just disappeared. 😔 I will keep listening to them and enjoying. Peace. 🤘🔥🙏❤
I'll never ever forget when VH1 had 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 1990's and these guys were on it. The reason I'll never forget is because a lady music critic kept talking about how "Cumbersome" wasn't even an actual word and Seven Mary Three just made it up and got a hit song out of it. This was pre smartphone era and info wasn't at the tips of your fingers. It's just funny to know she was completely wrong and it is and always was an actual word with a meaning lol.

What was once slugged off as a one hit wonder, has become a stone cold rock classic
Yeah baby!!! 90's hit...
[Verse 1]
She calls me Goliath and I wear the David mask
I guess the stones are comin' too fast for her now
Y'know I'd like to believe this nervousness will pass
All the stones that are thrown are building up a wall
[Pre-Chorus]
I have become cumbersome
To this world
I have become cumbersome
To my girl
[Verse 2]
I'd like to believe we could reconcile the past
Resurrect those bridges with an ancient glance
But my old stone face can't seem to break her down
She remembers bridges, burns 'em to the ground
[Pre-Chorus]
I have become cumbersome
To this world
I have become cumbersome
To my girl
[Chorus]
Too heavy, too light, too black or too white, too wrong or too right
Today or tonight, cumbersome
Too rich or too poor, she's wanting me less and I'm wanting her more
The bitter taste is cumbersome
No, yeah, no-no, no
No-no, no, yeah
[Bridge]
There is a balance between two worlds
One with an arrow and a cross
Regardless of the balance life has become
Cumbersome
[Chorus]
Too heavy, too light, too black or too white, too wrong or too right
Today or tonight, cumbersome
Too rich or too poor, she's wanting me less and I'm wanting her more
The bitter taste is cumbersome
[Outro]
No, yeah, no, no, no
No-no, no, yeah
No-no, no, no, yeah
Your life has become cumbersome
I lived in Alabama and threre was this big hill. If you went there at midnight you could get a station out of mobile. I used to ride up there alone and get high and listen. This was one of my favorites.
I lived in orlando and dated a girl who went to school with this band. They were huge on the local scene. What a song.
Still blasting this in 2024!!!
Being born in 70 was the best 👊🔥👊
Nope, '65 was the best. And I had 3 older brothers who played a lot of Rock n Roll. I remember listening to Boz Scaggs, Kansas, Beatles, Boston and many others while playing with my Barbie dolls. I was blesses..
14 yrs. Ago man the direction were going.
I know its weird, but this song always reminds me of my wife. The night we met was at my Highschool Graduation party that a friend was holding. He played in a simi-professional band, but their lead singer got waaaaay to drunk to perform that night, so he jokingly asked me to come on stage and sing in his stead. I had never heard Cumbersome or even Seven Mary Three at all at this point in life, but I went out there and gave it my all. A pretty girl said she liked my voice, and I was hooked. We've been married for 10 years now, lol.
Check out Mean Mr Mustard by these guys for another good song.
