    This video focuses on daily driver vehicles that have been washed, surface prepped. The three-step method we’re covering here outlines the correction steps needed to address the correction of more severe defects. It includes an aggressive correction step, a perfection step that addresses any remaining fine defects, and a protection step that safeguards the finish against the elements.

    I didn't think I needed another 8-9mil throw polisher but hands down one great tool! Has more power and more cutting ability then my old small throw polisher. Hats off to griots and the team! Machines are good and the products are unreal! 💪

    Great demonstration, Sam! I appreciate your in-depth knowledge of when, why, and how to select different pads. I reliably achieve amazing results with Griot's Garage three-step system. Personally, I prefer using a ceramic sealant because of its increased longevity. Thank you for supplying such amazing products and training materials. 3:54

    I just bought a G9 and can't wait to use it on my vehicles. Should I do one panel at a time completely (all three steps), or do the whole vehicle step by step?

      Hi Pat, thanks for picking up a G9! We suggest doing the whole car step by step

  • @MrLuvHaters
    @MrLuvHaters Před 3 lety +4

    Noob question here:
    When i use these 3 steps do I do one step on my entire vehicle, then the second step on my entire vehicle, followed by the third step? Or should I do all 3 steps in each panel/section at a time?
    Also, do i need to wash the pads in between each panel?
    I’m gonna be tackling my severely neglected 08 Gray Chevy Silverado Crew Cab

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  Před 3 lety +7

      If you're doing the whole vehicle we typically complete each step before moving on to the next step. We recommend swapping out your pads a few times during the process, however it is not necessary to wash after each panel, you can wait to wash all the pads until the end of the detail. Before swapping out for a new pad, you can either user compressed air or a tool like our pad condition brush to clean up the pad.

    Today I used my G9 for a second time and it started to sound different. And sometimes it started to go on the fastest speed eventhow I dialed to a lower speed it keeped going to the faster speed. I think something got broken with my tool. Very disappointed. I don’t know If it can be replaced at this time. But even if I can get it replaced I have to pay for shipping and hadeling to Venezuela and it is about $40 extra dollar each way. I am trying to start my detailing business with a low bugget so this issue is a big deal.

    Griot’s Garage, after the polish process, do you suggest applying/wiping an IPA to the paint before the final wax?
    And after the wax, what do you recommend applying to the paint? Ceramic wax?

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Luke, you absolutely can use an IPA wipe on the paint however it is not entirely necessary. We often give it a quick wipe down with speed shine.
      And after the wax, depending on what wax you've used we have a few quick detailers that work well for those quick clean ups between washes. If you're going to use Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, we'd suggest two coats of it on it's own.

      Hi August, without seeing the scratches it is tough to say for sure but the G9 is capable of removing severe scratches with the right pad and product. As a general rule of thumb, if you finger nail catches on a scratch it's deeper than can be polished out and will typically require body work.

    Question : once you use the pads on a vehicle once are they able to be washed and used again or one and done?
    Question 2: I noticed you didn’t Clay the paint before starting is that a necessary step in the prepping process
    Last question: Does it matter whether you polish your car in direct sunlight or preferably in a garage or shaded area.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  Před 4 lety +2

      Great questions, Carlos!
      1. Our pads are designed to be washed and re-used multiple times. We suggest adding in our Microfiber & Foam Pad Cleaner in with your choice of laundry detergent when washing them. This video covers step by step how we suggest caring for your pads to make sure they last: czcams.com/video/a6D_Bj2cPYQ/video.html
      2. This video picks up where you would start following decontaminating the vehicle. We always recommend using a clay bar or chemical to decontaminate the surface prior to polishing.
      3. We recommend polishing in a garage or shaded area when possible, but recognize that is not always an option. That being said, you can certainly polish in direct sunlight just be mindful to wipe off the polish reside quickly and work in smaller areas to be able to polish and wipe in a short time period. In extreme heat you may notice that it takes a bit more elbow grease to wipe the polish away than normal.
