You could even cut it smaller and use it as metallic edible flakes for cakes all year round.

@@FinespunCakes It’s so nice to see a new tutorial from you☺️ It’s been way too long. I hope this doesn’t sound crazy, but I feel like I’m attending a reunion and seeing a friend I haven’t seen in ages! I’ve never been to Canada. My husband and I should take a car ride there and make a stop to visit your studio! That would be fun! Anyway, back to work on my gingerbread house… gingerbread house of a local landmark called The Red Lion Inn. I bit off more than I could chew on this one, but decided to lift the restrictions on making it an exact replica and give myself a little creative freedom, lol! Can you refrigerate the cake after adding the tinsel if boxed up and wrapped in cling wrap, so the tinsel doesn't melt or dissolve?

Yes I think that would be okay! As long as the box is kept as humidity free as possible (with the cling wrap). I've refrigerated wafer paper before for a day or two this way and it was fine.
