There are artists blessed with so much talent and the ability to connect with the hearts and souls of those of us lucky enough to hear or see them. Dan was one of those beings blessed with more talent than one person should have and he shared it in the best possible way. He touched many of us in a way that few have or ever will. We didn't have him long enough but thank God we had him for the time we did. I was fortunate enough to see him live about a half dozen times with a band and solo. They are experiences that were both joyful and sad and stay in my heart and mind all these years later. Even though I never met him, I truly miss him!!

This version of "Too the Morning" really moved me: I was one of the very first people to hear the song (probably THE first) when he sang it for me during the sunrise in the Red Herring chapel, on the funky piano in there. He had been working on the song all night at his parent's house the night before, and drove to Urbana the next day ... It moved me then, and it moves me now. Rest In Peace, my friend.

As I became a RN Deja excelled in horse showing.Dan was with us through our lives in 2010 after I left Pacific Northwest she remained there,I got the call diagnosed gbm multi phase 4, I quit my job headed to her. Losing her I didn't sleep as facing morning's without her 35 so much left to live,I got in my car with her dog driving music cd's now them To the Morning came on in dark 2 lane highway in New Mexico.I found place pulled over listening to that song 10 times, I know it was Deja saying mom you got this we have no regrets as I heard her laughter then a soft touch across my cheeks.
Without Dan his music Deja love courage strength humor unconditional love I would not be where I am today.acceptentance of my life and found my inner peace as I took breath of fresh air, found my home in the country knowing Deja is with me always in my heart mind soul.
Dan's music touches my soul soothes my soul helped me to find laughter, love and light he is timeless Thank you Dan for making my life and Deja's for the memories etched in my heart as your music was the only one we both knew all the lyrics and was our mother and daughter concerts

@@paulagrandinetti512 I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious daughter. That's a beautiful tribute to Dan & to your daughter. I'm so glad that Dan's music was an inspiration to you - and her. Dan has been my favorite singer/songwriter of all time. His music touches my soul, as well, as no other music has ever been able to. I was very blessed to meet him in "84 & he was a very nice guy. I hope & pray that God continues to bless you. 😊❤🙏

It's January 1, 2021. I wanted to listed to some Dan to remember better times. I saw him in concert dozens of times, had his music with my all the time. When he died, it was a great loss to all who loved his music. When I was diagnosed with the same disease that killed him it certainly gave me pause. I guess I was lucky because I'm still alive. Although cancer changes you forever. It is comforting to have his music, but I can't help but wonder what brilliant and poignant music we lost when we lost him.

May the Good Lord bless and keep you in His divine care my dear friend. Glad to hear you are doing well. Dan Fogelberg’s music was introduced to me in 1977, my senior year in high school and has been a part of my life ever since. It has followed me and helped through my college years, single years, and married life. I like to remember him best and pray for his soul. He gave so much to all of us his fans and we owe him through our prayers.

This shows just how truly magnificent Dan was. His vocals superb, (the resonance, OMG) his guitar and piano playing are without peer, and of course his timeless songwriting skills. There will never be anyone who can touch him and I feel fortunate to have lived when he did. What a musical genius taken from us too soon. ❤️

I was at this Dan Fogelberg / Sokol Blosser winery concert back in September 1997. It was a clear and stary evening, and both the wine and Dans music was awesome! I was living in nearby Aurora, OR at the time with my BF at the time, Cliff. What a great experience that was, thanks for the memories, and Rest In Peace Dan!

I was at this show, glad someone saved the audio... Was quite an emotional experience. Dan is a legend with a rare gift that few will ever experience ever again. From the heart he always got it right. Seen him twice at Sokal Blossar ....his music always connected to my heart since a young child all the way into middle age. Now I try play guitar when I feel that vibe and bring out that gift in me that he inspired. Thanks Dan!

Our Dan remained, forever, and ever, in love with his first wife ... he never got over the loss of her love; however, we will be eternally blessed with his music/lyrics, re; her. Hopefully, in heaven, he has found his solitude, and grace. We miss you ~ our Dan. (2021, still missing you ...)

Thanks for posting. Too bad there are not any high quality recordings from live performances early in his career. Most recordings and videos don’t due his concerts justice. I started seeing him when he toured with Fools Gold and it was nice to see him progress through the years.

The CD of his 1979 Carnegie Hall show is quite good. Jean Fogelberg worked with experts to sonically clean up the original source tape (never intended by Dan for release, apparently - Jean found the tape in the house going through some stuff after Dan passed).

@@johnsauer9067 Thank you for your comment because I've been wondering when/ if anything else would be released. I think about Jean, my heart goes out to her, losing her husband such a young age way too soon, sad they couldnt slowly grow old together but she was blessed with the time she did have with this truly special amazingly talented man. Dan has remained my favorite musician from when I was just 5 years old I started hearing his music that my older brother would play (in 1975). I was blessed to have had the chance to meet him, shake his hand and let him know how much I had loved and appreciated him since the age of 5 ! I met him and Jean after one of his shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston and When I said to him that I'd loved & appreciated him since the age of 5 he smiled ear to ear and jokingly said "how is that possible ?" Meeting him was honestly the highlight of my life, it was my 'Chance of a lifetime in a lifetime of chance'.
