I know it is not as approachable, but what I did is I have a VPN setup for my church, and I can just connect to that from anywhere then I can access any device over the churches local area network.
How do you monitor sound over the network?
@@johnathonretana8458 It's a bit jank, but I would usually use a program like Teamviewer and then send the sound into a computer at the church.
I actually thought once of this, even if just for fun :) For monitoring, I dunno, probably would need some cheap computer running VLC RTSP stream for another device to subscribe to. I wonder if some commercial solution exists, probably yes. EDIT: I know that this solution works. But I see it requires some cloud crap and vendor lock, I'd like something that would work with all mixers and all setups.
I did the same thing, I’ve setup a VPN access for my church and when we have Sunday service, I can make changes remotely to improve live stream audio.
We use a VPN server at our church and NoMachine running on each client. Both audio and video work remotely.
AMAZING technology from an amazing company. Thanks Jake and team!!!
This is so cool. Changes the game for what av companies can provide to clients.
I’m impressed! That’s Amazing -Nathan 😀
Watching from Yosemite Kentucky. Wow! Great topic.
I’ve been doing my own version of this at my church since 2016 on an x32, when I’m away on work I remote in, send the audio out feed with multi view over zoom. Not sure what the latency is but honestly it’s all very snappy. I’m also the TD, obviously not as efficient of a multi tasker in this situation but definitely solves the problem. This though seems like really cool unified option, great video!
That's neat. We've been doing this through VPN for years.. in fact we have run the entire service/Livestream from home during covid when the entire team was sick. We power on the equipment through smart plugs remotely as well. Next project is to setup home assistant at the church and automate a few things in the building to run if we need to run a service like that again.
I came to my church a couple years ago and they had a 32sc and I found it to be a little “buggy” for me. I love how close they got to being awesome. Their own multitrack software is awesome, but it tends to glitch out a lot. (Doesn’t connect the the mixer/randomly won’t record certain tracks). We are switching to the SQ5. Excited to see what it can do. That being said we are selling the board to a church we work with in Canada (we are in Illinois) and this will help in troubleshooting for them sometimes. Very interesting. Thanks for the video!
For those asking if this can be done with other mixers - not with this software and not this straightforward but YES.
You’ll need -
VPN into your churches network and an app like MixStation OR a host computer that you can remote into (with something like Jump Desktop) that can run your mixers software GUI
SonoBus being run on a computer that has access to audio feed from your mixer, either through USB card or possibly Dante Virtual Soundcard. Then you route things like FOH, Broadcast, Monitor Bus, Talkback Channel. Ect.
You can then route a remote devices input back into your board through the same manner as a remote talkback.
With all of those tools you can achieve similar results as this.
Yesssss Gllllloooooorrryyy
I use Remote PC, and can control several PCs at once. One with X32 Edit, One with switcher Control, One for Propresenter
Would love to see videos of Adam mix different channels and explain what he’s doing and why
wow. next stop - playing worship from homes
Well, most churches are using backing tracks live so that's almost worst. 🤣
Now you can do more gigs in a day at the comfort of your home.
This is really dope! Just thought about one thing though, if the mixer isnt already mixed to the sound of the room/church/hall, then someone must be there in person as a mixing engineer to fix those small (big) things right? Cus it could sound absolutely great on headphones, but out and loud in the room, you'll have no clue.
What would be an approach to this?
I have a love hate relationship with Presonus's UC surface. I appreciate Metro and all the changes it brings to the mixing world. with all that said UC surface still fails to do offline editing which I need to prepare shows.
All the other manufactures at this level have that basic function.
Watch this space... More updates coming to StudioLive in 2024.
that "hey siri" in the beginning triggered siri on my phone lol
Same here😂
time to get an Android.
Does the client hear what someone would hear through headphones plugged into the series 3 mixer headphones output and use the same settings in Universal control that changes what is heard through the headphones output?
I imagine... What with VPN? Is that possible to for example take X32, plug it into network, and via VPN plug your device from Another network in Another city, and make broadcast mix?
Impressive. Can this system be combined with Dante?
How did you guys monitor just a certain mix group like Boadcast? Having trouble figuring that out on our end here.. thanks!
Bendiciones estoy solo es posible con esta mixer es decir con esta marca de mixer ????
How the talkback mic its setup done on host/mixer?
What vocal mic is that, it sounds good dry!
Hey Jake, How to does Adam add his volume in the presonus app? also would Scarlett work with the app
Yeah. finally. I remember being called from over 400km aware on a Sunday morning to direct a volunteer to get the mix right. Not fun at all. With this, I can get it going before it is a problem. I hope Behringer does one for X32
hi guys... I'm in Brazil and I mix the lives of a church in California... Bridge Ministry
Amigo, como eu faria uma mix remotamente em uma behringer wing??
@@caledejesse You can't. Not like UC Metro.
@@caledejesse fala meu querido... eu não faço a mix pela console ... eu faço pelo logic... mas creio que se a console estiver rodando em um computador você pode controlá-la remotamente
Can you do this with the x32? Or Midas?
yes, but you'll need to setup a vpn on a pc thats connected to the mixer, witch you can remotely connect to with another computer on the internet.
Or atleast a host pc thats connected to the mixer that uses any remote access application that you'll need to have on both devices, so you can connect and controll.
Its a little more finnicky, but it works like a charm when its all set up!
Just hope the internet wont go down at church or at your home when doing shows heh...
Any idea if this works with the Personus 16R Rack Mixer?
Yes!
There are any thing like this for wing??
Nope.
Yes. SonoBus. It’s free as well.
Something like this could be done, when the band doesn't cause any additional sound.
How do I choose which mix to listen
Solo the mix bus of the mix you are using.
Thanks@@HighsLowsMusic
Can wedo in x32 ?
No.
Yes. Not with this software, but you could achieve similar results, free, with SonoBus
is this only for presonous
Yes.
No.
when something goes wrong in the venue...
