    Its a dream come true for Neville and co, mates for years and buying a football club together. If I had the money I'd buy my local side and try to get them up the leagues.

      They have begun to destroy non-league football. They have bought their way to success, originating from a 'nothing' club, only to gain support through the owners.

      hellonpluto I’d rather support a club who have actual fans than Salford. In Non-League, it’s not about being the best or richest team, it’s about being part of a community and helping your local team, watching them whenever you can. If you’re a non league fan, rethink what you’re trying to say. If you’re a football league/EPL fan, do your research before thinking. We don’t want none of your big money problems down here.

    Gary Neville, you probably won't read this. I'm a Liverpool season ticket holder. We don't have to say anything about what I thought of you during your career, you can imagine. Those negative feelings have mellowed slightly since you've become a full time pundit, but I still enjoy disliking you if that makes sense. I would like it if you made a mistake for example, but I don't wish you any serious harm.
    That plea you made about how the FA could easily raise money instead of selling Wembley was brilliant. You've used your position to speak for everyone and ask questions and offer solutions that others don't have the platform to do. I was made up for you and for everyone, you nailed it. Hopefully it won't just be forgotten about. Well done.

    People fail to recognise that the amount of money a club has does not equate to success, I’m an AFC Wimbledon fan we have consistently one of the lowest budgets in League 1&2 however the club has been smart investing in eager players from the lower leagues and have survived in league 1 under this model. With Salford I see the class of 92 spending in the areas they need on players keen to play and work up the leagues, so criticism imo is unwarranted.

Smart business is always looking forward and being ready to take that next financial step! An old saying in life "Dress for the job you want and not the one you have" seems to be exactly what this club is doing and so long as they are following league structured rules! I say good on them. Their moderate capitalistic approach should be lauded as growth in business takes capital and their should be no penalty ever for growth. All I see is game growth and that will improve the quality of football. Good on ya boys, here's to wishes for a great and succesful season and hopeful promotion! Much love from 🇨🇦 !

      Season before last, Tranmere were unlucky to miss out on promotion with a colossal 92 points!
      it's not an easy league, and to get anywhere near that points tally will be a miracle for most clubs. I know you only need to get into the top 7 now for a play off place, but I think that may prove too difficult for Salford to achieve in their first season in the national league. I'm a Pools fan, a bigger club than Salford support wise, and we payed decent full time wages to a 30+ playing squad last season and struggled big time. Just wondering if Salford are signing the correct players, players with the character to fight and battle their way to results in this league or are they just gonna be happy to pick up their pay cheque going through the motions Saturday and Tuesday!? I suppose we'll soon find out...

That league is absolutely riddled with clubs with no fan base but with rich owners who are spending money beyond the range of far bigger better supported clubs. Neville is going on about putting money into the club and maybe he has put some in but we are know that the real money man is Peter Sim , a Singapore based Billionaire who is pouring money into Salford because he has been unable to buy himself into the PL. If they do get into the FL I can`t wait to see how they get around the FFP rules.

    Adam Rooney was a tidy little 3rd choice back at birmingham {im a birmingham fan} i like the improvement of the academy and launch of the Womens team but spending £375,000 on one player in the fifth tier is bonkers. If you have heard of Maikel Keiftenbeld he cost us £250,000 and that was in 2015/16, my point is i don't think you shoudl be allowed to spend that much at this level when other clubs can barely afford a quarter of that price tag on one player. In fact, Maccelsfield last season had a budget of around about £300,000 and got promoted so it shows money isn't everything. You lot are lucky you have ex-united players as owners or else you'd probably go out of business
    edit: I've probably added some really irrelevant stuff in, you get my point though

    People who call the other teams "jealous" really have no real view. The reason the league is so pissed off is if you consistently buy player of another class to your team it ruins the chances of teams getting any success because this one team has a unfair advantage of money from someone's back pocket. And what most people don't realise is that only 2 teams get promoted, so if you have your best season ever in your clubs history it means nothing because a team decided to pump money that you don't have into a club and because you decided to get promoted the right way you end up losing in the play offs. Look at my team Wrexham our best season in the conference we finished with 99 points but fleetwood got just over 100 and we wasn't promoted because they had a wealthy owner. He talks about how this is what you everyone loves "the romance" of football but what he's doing is almost ruining the "romance of football" as a team who nobody actually expects to see winning the league and destroying there chance. Look at Macclesfield and Lincoln nobody expected them to win the league and they did but with them having Salford in the league there wouldn't be those stories just ones about how you came 2nd because a team field money into a club.

    The tinpot clubs are just jealous that their team doesn't have famous wealthy local backers like Salford. At least they're doing it the right way with SUSTAINABILITY which is key.

    • @joshuagreensmith4048
      @joshuagreensmith4048 Před 6 lety

      Aidy Gooner jealousy??? Haha couldn’t be less jealous just think they are ruining the English lower leagues and how is pumping money into the club sustainable it is completely the opposite if the investors died (I wish) they would go bankrupt immidietly as Garry said all the money is coming from his pocket at Exeter city we have to develop players and sell them on to survive that is sustainable and that is proper football

    • @aidygooner
      @aidygooner Před 6 lety

      Joshua Greensmith I smell jealousy 😂 Do you really think they're just gonna pump money into and run the club without sustainability? Once they get the academy sorted they'll bring youngsters through like the Class of 92 were so take your so-called morals elsewhere 😂

      @joshuagreensmith4048 Před 6 lety

  • @Wall1885
    @Wall1885 Před 6 lety +1

    i dont see any other way of doing it now days to be fair. it starts at the top with money that tv has put in and we could sit here all day arguing that money has ruined the game but that is the way it is. it was nearly always the clubs with the most money that won things before tv money so good luck to a bunch of ex footballers that want to do something for their local team. if it was your local non league side you would not be moaning.

      They aren’t, the comparison comes with the huge cash injection in order to get players who would otherwise never play for such a club

    • @GreatteacherOni1993
      @GreatteacherOni1993 Před 6 lety +3

      Rossa4 it's not really a huge injection though is it when you really think about it. In teams like Man City PSG Real Madrid there is a real problem there are rules but they're not being enforced. A non league club has ambition to be a official league team they're going to need money to make it there and stay there which is what they want. They're buying players like Adam rooney not Ronaldo. Tbh it's great seeing some actual investment in to British football from British investors think how great the new stadium and new academy, womens team is for the people and children of Salford.

    • @Rossa4444
      @Rossa4444 Před 6 lety +2

      Komodo Lundy its the non league equivalent of what psg & city are doing, no other teams around them are able to afford those type of players. Just cherry picking players but on a smaller scale. Its a great thing when it happens to your club but from a neutral perspective it just looks like the Starbuck effect.

    • @GreatteacherOni1993
      @GreatteacherOni1993 Před 6 lety +2

      Rossa4 why that Salfords fault if other clubs don't have the same money. It's not Salfords fault if the investor is more invested then others club owners. I am a neutral and this is a good thing. They spoken time and time again then want to be a league team they want to be out of non league as fast as possible and for a non league team to achieve that a lot money and a lot of time is going to go into the club. Other club owners need to pull there finger out and probably pinch a bit of that ambition instead of Salford having to put the finger back. You can't stand still and expect others to follow someone going to pass you by and leave you standing. This is a perfect example

    I like Gary Neville but there is some hypocrisy here !
    Its not the "established elite" league clubs that are effected , its the genuine non-league community clubs that don't have mega-bucks input from multi-millionaires . Paying 10x the wages than your competitors who have to fund from "real world" revenue streams means their chance for promotion is virtually zero which badly effects the clubs ability to attract sponsorship and people through the turnstiles. He says the pyramid system is a great strength of English football whilst simultaneously making a complete mockery of the system by his actions.
    If he wants to see where it all ends just google " Rushden & Diamonds " ..and in a few years " Fleetwood" .
