Its a dream come true for Neville and co, mates for years and buying a football club together. If I had the money I'd buy my local side and try to get them up the leagues.
@Billyboy And you are just a sad keyboard tough guy stil living off your parents at 35
@Billyboy of course you are...and good luck with that
@Billyboy calm down lad
Hats off to the class of 92, I have been watching this football club grow over the past few years. Every other non league clubs would love to have this sort of backing, good luck.
They have begun to destroy non-league football. They have bought their way to success, originating from a 'nothing' club, only to gain support through the owners.
Not hard to just pump money into a nothing team
Jealously
hellonpluto I’d rather support a club who have actual fans than Salford. In Non-League, it’s not about being the best or richest team, it’s about being part of a community and helping your local team, watching them whenever you can. If you’re a non league fan, rethink what you’re trying to say. If you’re a football league/EPL fan, do your research before thinking. We don’t want none of your big money problems down here.
Oli Thompson everything you’ve said I agree with well said👏👏👏
I can't imagine how excited Salford fans must be, especially the ones that have been there before all the fame and money came in. It's interesting keeping an eye on your progress, good luck to you 👍🏻
I could quite literally listen to him speak about football all day, he's absolutely brilliant!!
Love how the floodlight in the window reflection is the same shape as the badge
Dan Saeed no it’s not
Erik Ritchie yes they are
Gary Neville, you probably won't read this. I'm a Liverpool season ticket holder. We don't have to say anything about what I thought of you during your career, you can imagine. Those negative feelings have mellowed slightly since you've become a full time pundit, but I still enjoy disliking you if that makes sense. I would like it if you made a mistake for example, but I don't wish you any serious harm.
That plea you made about how the FA could easily raise money instead of selling Wembley was brilliant. You've used your position to speak for everyone and ask questions and offer solutions that others don't have the platform to do. I was made up for you and for everyone, you nailed it. Hopefully it won't just be forgotten about. Well done.
Good to see a scouser admit to someone who is trying to make football better for everyone. (ex pat (Widnes)
I've been watching the Salford story from when the lads took over. It's been great well done boys you have done a fantastic job. And I'm a scouser Liverpool fan. Still been great watching the club grow.
Full respect to everyone at Salford FC and the class of 92 from my beloved MUFC I love the enthusiasm and professionalism and I wish you all at the club the very best and watched you a few times and like the way you play the right way, good luck
Nice to hear some of the original volunteers are still involved. Important that they feel valued as they deserve to be
I'd add Gary is a good man and as a group he and his colleagues are putting back INTO the game. Good Luck to them.
Wow i was here at this channel followed the documentary of how the change they set out to do with this club and now they have a proper stadium. Good for the people of salford !
I watched the first episode I knew this would be something special I have been and watched every game!C'mon Salford
Spoke superbly...the guys genuine & knows what he is talking about...good luck & well done
A film in the making the rise of Salford City well done lads nice to see you putting something back into the community and football
Such a clever man, well informed and speaks honestly and clearly on how to run a football club, good luck to you all.
what an interview. I'm a fan from switzerland and for 4 years i have been following this club. and we will give everything. Let's go Salford.
How do you watch games?
Why? You started 'supporting' the club due to the owners, not because you have a connection to the club. You are doing it wrong, support a club who means something to you, not a club who has bought their way too success.
If wasn’t for the fact the owners are the class of 92 no one would give a fuck for this team.
Youssef Amin CZcams Chanel 😉
Glory fucker
A good story - still developing. Interesting to follow, as a M/cr City supporter and non-league appreciative.
Fair play to Gary Neville he has talked a lot of sense here fair play to Salford it’s nice to see small teams on the rise
Respect to Gary and the boys who invested in Salford, its a dream come true!
Stockport fan here, can't really argue with that interview... Hats off too them all :)
People fail to recognise that the amount of money a club has does not equate to success, I’m an AFC Wimbledon fan we have consistently one of the lowest budgets in League 1&2 however the club has been smart investing in eager players from the lower leagues and have survived in league 1 under this model. With Salford I see the class of 92 spending in the areas they need on players keen to play and work up the leagues, so criticism imo is unwarranted.
William Haines it does help a lot if someone were to invest billions into a non league club with no fifa fair play or regulations they could possibly become a top European side
No team us Exeter city fans want to beat more than Milton Keynes plastic club, history and fans.
Good for you for supporting a proper team not the plastic franchise
Fantastic what you've achieved. As a York City fan I'd love to have you as our owners
you are amazing i just found out that i live 5 minutes away from you but can t manage to get to the game because of scedual .good luch you are great
Great interview and talks sense
Well said Gary!
Fantastic interview, Plymouth fan
Great interview, totally smashed it
As a chesterfield fan, theirs nobody I want to beat more than Salford. Put them to reality
You must be upset then lol
Well you missed the boat on that one sunshine. Let's see what Dec 6th looks like before you get a reality check. G'day
Jack Wright 8th mate
As a Coventry fan, I would love to have these owners. It won't be long before Salford are playing a league game at the Ricoh, I wish them well.
Good luck to them, they are doing things correctly.
One smart cat. Loved him as a player but even more impressive as an owner! I would work for/with this man any day. Smart business is always looking forward and being ready to take that next financial step! An old saying in life "Dress for the job you want and not the one you have" seems to be exactly what this club is doing and so long as they are following league structured rules! I say good on them. Their moderate capitalistic approach should be lauded as growth in business takes capital and their should be no penalty ever for growth. All I see is game growth and that will improve the quality of football. Good on ya boys, here's to wishes for a great and succesful season and hopeful promotion! Much love from 🇨🇦 !
Great interview
I'm excited for Salford and will Track their progress this season
Brac M OK corrected it now thanks
Are you an English teacher
Well said Gary. Top bloke.
Salford City FC maybe one day Salford City could be playing in the Premier League.
Youve got what it takes
Good onya
Can't wait for the day they play Manchester United historic.
I mean competitively in like top flight someday or in the FA cup would be some craic.
FA Cup will happen, stuff like that has a way of happening in football.
I’m predicting that it will actually happen in the fa cup this season
It's better to have people invest in the smaller clubs (Salford) than the already huge clubs becoming even bigger and richer
Was thinking the same Henry! Good luck to him.
Can't argue with him at all. Hats of to them
Great guy
Its nice to see a local side doing well , ALL clubs need investment otherwise it stagnates , look at UTD FC of m/c no harmony and the investment dried up. If I had the money I would have done exactly the same . The support is great and its within walking distance, keep up the good work , Just a footnote some Hartlepool fans SHAME ON YOU for attacking a pensioner
Gazza Neville united and Salford legend ♥️
You know Gazzas name was Paul, right? Gazza is not short for Gary, it’s longer. How about Gaz? Seems more like the standard.
Goody King was thinking what's he on about, when did gascoinge get involved
Id love to go down from glasgow & watch them
None of us are aware how difficult this season might be, it’s a whole new scale for this club
Great story
I feel like quite a lot of Salford City fans are ungrateful. That's all I have to say really and a Lot of people agree.
Gara gara bang Calvin ni Salford muncul mulu di beranda aokwkwkwk #cjm
I’m just sad he isn’t doing this at man united. Fair play Gary. Great work.
I absolutely hate how much I agree with this fella.
Heads up every team in our league wants to thrash you so thank you
Yeah they want to get hired
For an ex footballer, this guy speaks very well
It's an FM lovers dream in real life👍👌
Its just jealousy from the other clubs, they are starting to see teams out there putting their hand in their pockets wishing it was their team, while the other teams are “standing still”
To keep up would put my club into jeopardy. Fuck off with your jealousy pish. You probably haven't got the first idea about Non League and only like Salford because it has Manchester United players you grew up watching on the TV at the helm.
No, Salford are literally buying their way to success, originating from a 'nothing' club from North Machester. It's not jealousy from other clus, it's just hate over how Salford have made their way up the Leagues.
@@olithompson6147 Don't waste so much energy (hate)
Nobody complaining about the money Salford spend would reject similar investment in their own non-league club.
Just because you are non-league doesn't mean you should always remain non-league.
“We’ve added Ashley Hemmings”
Little did they know, he was off to Fylde
They can do what they want with their dough..Green eyed monster with some...By the way TRFC fan an that's a hard league to get out of..Don't underestimate teams down there..Salford will be a big scalp...
Season before last, Tranmere were unlucky to miss out on promotion with a colossal 92 points!
it's not an easy league, and to get anywhere near that points tally will be a miracle for most clubs. I know you only need to get into the top 7 now for a play off place, but I think that may prove too difficult for Salford to achieve in their first season in the national league. I'm a Pools fan, a bigger club than Salford support wise, and we payed decent full time wages to a 30+ playing squad last season and struggled big time. Just wondering if Salford are signing the correct players, players with the character to fight and battle their way to results in this league or are they just gonna be happy to pick up their pay cheque going through the motions Saturday and Tuesday!? I suppose we'll soon find out...
So when Man City or Chelsea are overtaken by billionaires who bring success through their investments, people say stuff such as “plastic club” or “you’re just buying success” but when Salford city do the exact same thing it’s amazing and exciting.
well , hypocrite 'football fans' . Mostly Utd fans will lick their legend arse and 'support' Salford because of their legend 'investment' .
Alkan Channel atleast we have legends whom do chelsea or city have?
Tejas Mohite Roman Abrahamovic & Sheikh Mansour :p
Gary Neville born and bred in BURY why doesn't he get involved with BURY FC a club with a proud history with numerous clubs on its doorstep now another in Salford just over the border with ambitious plans and in competition with.
there must be something happen behind it . We never know . Sometimes maybe the club didn't like him or something like that
He's not the only owner, you know that right? Giggs and Scholes are from Salford, so whats wrong with Salford?
it's simply a great story at Salford. Good luck to them this season and hope to see you in the Football League very soon!
Is it bollocks a great story. They made their way through the Leagues with money, and no support
I'm a blackburn fan it's good to know 95 still hurts haha but we'll done to them pitty golden balls couldn't do d same
You should bring in K lafferty from Rangers. Proven goal scorer real hand full for any defensive line plus not cost a lot of money
Do clubs in that league need that many away directors seats?
The Wimbledon comparison is miles off. Wimbledon had no money to invest to the level which Salford have. Do what you think you need to do to succeed but don't pretend that you're anything like Wimbledon
Richard Fairs so true what they have done is not an achievement what so ever when they are spending 3-4 times the other teams at that level and achievement is Accrington making league one, Macclesfield making the football league and Bournemouth making the premier league
He was on about when you were up there in the top league ya numpty not right at this moment you spent alot back in the day
He can keep talking very well without anyone saying anything to him
As a fan of a club who tried for 3 years to get out of the VNL before we finally did it, hope this lot crash and burn. That league is absolutely riddled with clubs with no fan base but with rich owners who are spending money beyond the range of far bigger better supported clubs. Neville is going on about putting money into the club and maybe he has put some in but we are know that the real money man is Peter Sim , a Singapore based Billionaire who is pouring money into Salford because he has been unable to buy himself into the PL. If they do get into the FL I can`t wait to see how they get around the FFP rules.
Adam Rooney was a tidy little 3rd choice back at birmingham {im a birmingham fan} i like the improvement of the academy and launch of the Womens team but spending £375,000 on one player in the fifth tier is bonkers. If you have heard of Maikel Keiftenbeld he cost us £250,000 and that was in 2015/16, my point is i don't think you shoudl be allowed to spend that much at this level when other clubs can barely afford a quarter of that price tag on one player. In fact, Maccelsfield last season had a budget of around about £300,000 and got promoted so it shows money isn't everything. You lot are lucky you have ex-united players as owners or else you'd probably go out of business
edit: I've probably added some really irrelevant stuff in, you get my point though
Whatever club you support I don't think any criticism is right. they are building a club that was already established and recognise how important to the community a club like Salford is.
Darlington Fan here, good luck to Salford and what they are doing I am sure they will be a league club very soon. However, just to let Mr Neville know, clubs like Darlington, the fans are putting their money in their pockets to keep the club going, its just our pockets are not as deep. So Mr Neville you are not some patron saint as a lot of non league fans are putting their hands in their pockets funding their clubs.
Good interview I really hope they do well as a Scunthorpe supporter I have to say the managers tactics will have to change or there will be no promotion.
Jane Brown Ok you no best 2 years watching mr Alexander perform mr Neville has all the answers did he ever watch my team no but it's all about opinions
People who call the other teams "jealous" really have no real view. The reason the league is so pissed off is if you consistently buy player of another class to your team it ruins the chances of teams getting any success because this one team has a unfair advantage of money from someone's back pocket. And what most people don't realise is that only 2 teams get promoted, so if you have your best season ever in your clubs history it means nothing because a team decided to pump money that you don't have into a club and because you decided to get promoted the right way you end up losing in the play offs. Look at my team Wrexham our best season in the conference we finished with 99 points but fleetwood got just over 100 and we wasn't promoted because they had a wealthy owner. He talks about how this is what you everyone loves "the romance" of football but what he's doing is almost ruining the "romance of football" as a team who nobody actually expects to see winning the league and destroying there chance. Look at Macclesfield and Lincoln nobody expected them to win the league and they did but with them having Salford in the league there wouldn't be those stories just ones about how you came 2nd because a team field money into a club.
I'm a blue for many years, but we'll done you rags for doing this for my hometown club, not happy about the color change though, are you Salford or manu?
Salford is a red area
Are they planning on doing a season 4 of the show?
Me being an Aberdeen fan is happy we got £375,000 for Adam Rooney, you over paid way to much
Jack K we are the mighty Salford and we have Adam Rooney! Rooney! Rooney!
Jack K I agree he ain't worth that can have good games but goes missing all the time so great for the dons mate
Cruze Moore Who ?
John Kennedy u finish behind us, ur our bitch, ur a waste of a club and u waste all the money u have on shit players
Still waiting for 55? I thought you guys were counting the 3rd division title these days.
why did he mention other leagues when talking about financial cap? Its not like other leagues have then
So are most Salford fans united fans too?? Is Salford like a '2nd team so to speak. Genuine question. How does it work with such a huge club on your doorstep?
justsay no I'd guess so. Most non league fans also support a big club too
Only plastic ones.
The tinpot clubs are just jealous that their team doesn't have famous wealthy local backers like Salford. At least they're doing it the right way with SUSTAINABILITY which is key.
Aidy Gooner jealousy??? Haha couldn’t be less jealous just think they are ruining the English lower leagues and how is pumping money into the club sustainable it is completely the opposite if the investors died (I wish) they would go bankrupt immidietly as Garry said all the money is coming from his pocket at Exeter city we have to develop players and sell them on to survive that is sustainable and that is proper football
Joshua Greensmith I smell jealousy 😂 Do you really think they're just gonna pump money into and run the club without sustainability? Once they get the academy sorted they'll bring youngsters through like the Class of 92 were so take your so-called morals elsewhere 😂
Aidy Gooner trust me if you came down to 1 Exeter city game you would realise watching your team that are mostly from the academy play on the terrace with passionate supporters and a great atmosphere it’s a completely different world to the franchise the Salford are
Aidy Gooner they will still pay huge amounts of money the reality is they are buying the league and I am the complete opposite to jelous I’m just sad because it is ruining it for proper clubs
It's not Salford's fault that other clubs have been mismanaged and are rotting in non league like Wrexham, Stockport, Darlington etc
the big question i would ask is why they dont want to sit on a beach in thailand or caribbean or australia and enjoy themselves.
Yep, no problem with class of 92 pumping their hard earned cash into this club, a club which otherwise would not sustain these high earning players, just makes it more enjoyable when we beat the fkers #UTST
i dont see any other way of doing it now days to be fair. it starts at the top with money that tv has put in and we could sit here all day arguing that money has ruined the game but that is the way it is. it was nearly always the clubs with the most money that won things before tv money so good luck to a bunch of ex footballers that want to do something for their local team. if it was your local non league side you would not be moaning.
whats up with middle ur head Gary?
They are doing a Man City in the Non league
Rossa4 last I checked Salford isn't owned my a country.
They aren’t, the comparison comes with the huge cash injection in order to get players who would otherwise never play for such a club
Rossa4 it's not really a huge injection though is it when you really think about it. In teams like Man City PSG Real Madrid there is a real problem there are rules but they're not being enforced. A non league club has ambition to be a official league team they're going to need money to make it there and stay there which is what they want. They're buying players like Adam rooney not Ronaldo. Tbh it's great seeing some actual investment in to British football from British investors think how great the new stadium and new academy, womens team is for the people and children of Salford.
Komodo Lundy its the non league equivalent of what psg & city are doing, no other teams around them are able to afford those type of players. Just cherry picking players but on a smaller scale. Its a great thing when it happens to your club but from a neutral perspective it just looks like the Starbuck effect.
Rossa4 why that Salfords fault if other clubs don't have the same money. It's not Salfords fault if the investor is more invested then others club owners. I am a neutral and this is a good thing. They spoken time and time again then want to be a league team they want to be out of non league as fast as possible and for a non league team to achieve that a lot money and a lot of time is going to go into the club. Other club owners need to pull there finger out and probably pinch a bit of that ambition instead of Salford having to put the finger back. You can't stand still and expect others to follow someone going to pass you by and leave you standing. This is a perfect example
Well, that's basically Salford RLFC finished then.
The Shaymen of Halifax Town who have spent just enough to buy a half time meat pie will finish above you this season.
Doing this while his hometown club is struggling.salford (broughton really) will replace bury in the football league.
Paul Brady played for ice juniors against me that was in bury and his dad was a big part of bury
Used to live on the same street as him in greenmount that’s in BURY
Pity someone like the Nevilles couldn't invest a lot of money into Gateshead f.c.would love to see them get in the league.or Jeff sterling get some celebs involed and get money together and plough it into hartlepool .safc supporter
How can people support them non league is all about clubs being on a level playing field and not having lots of money
Killing non league been supporting my team for years average wage for non league is £500 per week they giving 5k per week
German Joker
What are they meant to do if they want to get to the EFL and they have enough money to do so
"average wage for non league is £500 per week"
What utter garbage. There's nothing like plucking a random figure out of the air, is there?
aldhous
Yeah the average wage for non-league is actually about £20 per week, because 'non-league' includes all tiers from tier 5 to tier 11, where a lot don't get paid.
Henry Bownes top non league sides get a stupendously low amount played for Halifax when I was younger till an ACL killed my knee then I was getting £150 a week which was enough 20years ago and I work with the academy
If you'd said average Conference wage was £500/week you'd be about right, but you should know better than most that non-league encompasses full-time, semi-pro and amateur sides... thousands of them.
Its not a fairytale story
Gary go take the job from woodward
The reason the season tickets are cheap is because they don’t need any more money come on Bromley ⚫️⚪️
Paul Brady who the fuckin hell are you a Salford fan
Paul Brady mate like your fans just don’t agree with the money that your spending
Paul Brady we won’t go down
he talks like my dad evi 1 says
The Man City of the lower leagues. I don't mean expansive, captivating, winning football though. I mean a team financially doping by a billionaire benefactor.
Financial fair play??
The FA should just admit they don't care about it, it's all about the money. 300K+ for one player!! for most of the national league that's half their budget.
Another rich mans play thing- forest green, crawley, Fleetwood
vile man never forgive him for that night in france 2016!!!
I hope this doesn't effect salford red devils crowds
As much as I like this Salford story I can’t help but think it’s not actually that special or impressive considering a Billionaire owns 40% of the club and the remaining 60% is owned by Millionaires. I would’ve been more surprised if they didn’t get out of the national league. Nevertheless it still is a cool story.
Good investment on infrastructure but other than that , he just purchase the league 😂
As a Dover fan i'll be supporting the opposition every week. You'll have a tough time in Kent and it would be nice to see you relegated.
Frazer Duncan 1-4 real tough time 😂 but I agree with you, hope they get stuck in the non league divisions for a while
@@johanrijhkelaar3627 haha! The gulf was ridiculous. All 4 teams in Kent have started very badly this season, last year's squad would have probably beaten them though. Agreed, would be nice to see them miss out for a few years.
National League is the highest you will get, there will be no promotion for your club. Trust me :)
haha u was saying....?? wrong
I like Gary Neville but there is some hypocrisy here !
Its not the "established elite" league clubs that are effected , its the genuine non-league community clubs that don't have mega-bucks input from multi-millionaires . Paying 10x the wages than your competitors who have to fund from "real world" revenue streams means their chance for promotion is virtually zero which badly effects the clubs ability to attract sponsorship and people through the turnstiles. He says the pyramid system is a great strength of English football whilst simultaneously making a complete mockery of the system by his actions.
If he wants to see where it all ends just google " Rushden & Diamonds " ..and in a few years " Fleetwood" .
Maybe when they move up another league it may not bother you so much. A s Blyth Spartans fan from long go I wish the Charltons had the foresight to have done something for there Geordie background.
fair poinT
