☁ ETHICS ☁
There are many considerations when it comes to shopping as ethically as possible. While it's very difficult to know whether any given brand is 100% ethical, I take several factors into account, including social justice, sustainablility, and human & animal rights. I try my best to only purchase from brands that offer inclusive shade ranges in complexion products, and that do not test on animals or use child labor. Here are some of my favorite resources for researching brands:
Animal cruelty-free brand lists:

You've become one of my favorite CZcamsrs, I love how thoughtfully you curate, how thoughtful you are with new purchases - it's way more relatable to us common folk! Haha
I personally never found a perfect tut on depotting. In my experience all palettes are different. But if you get the glue hot enough, & have a good small agile tool, they come out pretty easy. As long as the glue isn't dry, that's the key
I need to set myself an everyday makeup drawer up! ❤
I suggest try using the highlighter under powder. Sometimes the super shock formulas lay better under instead of over powder.
I love it when you do a red wing. It looks great on you! I’m glad you’re feeling better.
I think it would be a very good idea to depot the polar bear palette! If you have the shadows as singles or in a different magnetic palette you might end up using them more ! :)
Depot all the things!
It makes your collection so much more versatile!
Lauren Mae Beauty has some depotting vids.
It's funny that all of my makeup combined together would fill maybe half of this drawer, and in my community that's considered a lot. It's interesting how consuming standards differ from culture to culture.
the beauty community definitely has a warped perception of what minimalism looks like!😅
@@SarahRoseBeauty I think it's even more prominent in the American beauty community. I'm personally Israeli (Jewish) and it's really noticable how women (Influencers as well as "ordinary" women) consume less. I think this is due to 2 reasons: ........... 1) It's a very young country so Y generation women are either first or second generation in Israel. This means that either the woman or her mom were imigrants. I myself imigrated from Ukraine with my family after the fall of the Soviet Union. So I think this survival mode which is so typical to persecuted people that moved alot for many generations, designs a certain approach to consumption and money in general. I can see how many Jewish families from totally different origins and socio-economic backgrounds have similar values like 'traveling light' (less accumulating) and spending less ("you never know what tomorrow brings"). Theres a very common Philosophy of "you only buy what you need". ..... 2) I think the Israeli people (not only Jewish, also Muslim and other ethnicities we have here) have bigger affinity to spirituality than Americans, as a community that is. In the sense that people tend to achieve fulfillment from things and activities with deep values. Kind of a mindful approach to things. Most of Israeli women don't wear heels, don't buy luxury brands. Although to me personally Beauty and makeup are a source of self improvement, empowerment. But I think the Israeli community is changing. For the last 20 years Israel has had a capitalist economy and I think we are now only starting to see the social influences, good and bad. This is I think good. The ability to enjoy (and maybe even rediscover in a sense) materialistic things (like makeup) in a more meaningful (and even spiritual) fashion. The bad influences are maybe much more competitiveness , less solidarity, you know, the uglier side of Individualism and wealth.
@@Noychooz this was very interesting to read.
I’m from Ukraine as well ❤ definitely noticed that people in our region don’t consume that much, especially taking into account that Sarah has a very curated collection this is really interesting!
@@gigi2k326 thanks 😘😘
I love Kaja products! This look is so beautiful❤
Love the lip on you! I own all 6 shades in that formula and I love them- they do best when paired with a dryer lip liner and over the thinnest layer of lip balm. They fade so beautifully!
I love this kind of videos, when I see the process of actually going through the drawers ❤
Such a cute makeup look for today, you really rock that winged style ❤
I can remember Lauren Mae Beauty doing a depotting video. I love to depot. If I'm doing a small enough palette, I like to put it on a coffee mug warmer.
I highly recommend Kiss Lash GlueLiner to use with any false lashes. It comes in clear or black (brown was around at Halloween). It made it so easy for me to put on false lashes.
That blush combo is a win
Lately I've been using my Super Shock Highlighters with the Elf Putty Blush Brush for a more diffused look and I LOVE IT. 👌🏻💜✨ Way better application than with my fingers, and I've never had any lifting of anything underneath. I hope this helps! 😊
I love the look you created Sarah , it looks stunning that lipstick looks so pretty 😊
Could you do a dedicated video for Quo. I'm Canadian and have the same stacked eyeshadow. The only shade I have issues with is the blue shade.
So I've depotted three palettes; 2 Juvias Place and the BH Mimosa Palette. From my experience, your depotting experience will greatly depend on the strength of the pans. The Juvias Place eyeshadows stayed entirely intact, but the BH eyeshadows crumbled and the pans warped. Good luck!
I love your every day makeup drawers :)! I agree with u on that concealer being a shade or two too light. Usually when concealers are light, they do accentuate that shadI have dark circles too and this is something I notice. I think the sigma corrector helped a lot tho:). This look is bold yet sophistacted lol. So pretty!
Hi Sarah! I only saw a depotting tutorial where the palette was put on a hotplate over a kitchen towel. I found that a little risky, so I just took my hair dryer and heated the back of the pan and then used a needle to lift up the pan. After the first try it worked perfectly fine. Just do one pan after another 😊😊
I love these videos ! I just finish the mini Hollywood filter ! It didn’t take too long to pan !
I love the Kaja love swipes ❤️🔥 that shade stains a little too son it fades so nicely ✨
Interesting today I used that kaja beauty bento in my eyes this morning for my makeup look so nice coincidence. Nice makeup look! 😊
Your undereyes looked great after using the sigma corrector, very nice combo. It really does look great on the camera.
Love the eye look
I'm with you on complexion products being too light. First off, I'm already pretty fair. Secondly, I've noticed more texture and creasing if the shade is too light, especially with concealer.
If I find that I don't like a particular concealer under my eyes, I will always try to use it elsewhere on my face. Maybe that will work out as a spot concealer for you instead!
Absolutely love the look!
Great picks for February.. beautiful look💞
Thank you!!
So much fun! I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm hardly able to keep up with skincare when I'm sick and then I usually get break out so you're not alone. I love Valentine's Day for all the Reds and pinks. I'm expecting to see that concealer on The declutter Chopping Block LOL
Haha I really should do another chopping block video soon!
@@SarahRoseBeauty yes those are always fun! I feel like it gives us permission to part ways with makeup that's not serving us well
So many beautiful looks in January. I don’t think I could pick a favorite if you paid me to.
I don't like that LA girl under my eyes, but it works well to spot conceal and brighten other areas. It sticks around well for me.
I hope this isn't too weird, but if you do decide to declutter the Polar Bear palette, I would be willing to pay you to buy it, even if you depot those two shades. I mean, obviously I would love to have those two shades as well, but I would take it without them.
I say depot the shades you want. IF that's what you want. I mean it's yours already.
That palette is beautiful the way it is though, I do love those tones.
Ooooo I clicked so fast! 🥰🥰🥰
thank you so much for watching!
I specifically remember in your PP video that you said that you have pan in only of the shade, that is opal.. but i can see a tiny speck of a pan in ballad 👀👀👀
8:49
I wish!! It’s just a speck of glitter 😭
The concealer is alittle to light and it don't cover as well. But use a peach color or pink will help!!
I’ve seen Kat/kitschsnitch do depotting of palettes. She had a video a few months ago in which she showed how to do it.
czcams.com/video/1hIjqfGqNOE/video.html
She's a great resource. I also recommend just searching on youtube for depotting cardboard palettes, they're actually quite easy. You just slice away at the cardboard until you reach the pans, like peeling an onion. They're the easiest palettes to depot aside from palettes where they have little holes so you can pop out the pans yourself.
For any concealer that doesn’t sit right or isnt the right shade, I mix or layer it with another concealer. I actually haven’t used a single concealer alone in several years.
I feel like if the palette is not too old it's not that good of an idea to depot just to keep 2 shades. Once you depot them it'll be weird to gift it to friends and family with 2 missing shades. I did that once and regretted taking away a couple of shades since now the rest of the palette wasn't really giftable anymore
Good point! I was thinking I'd go ahead and depot all the shades, and then maybe put together some custom palettes with the other shades I'm not keeping to gift to friends or something!
@@SarahRoseBeauty That’s a great idea!
@@SarahRoseBeauty oh yeah I didn't thought about that but that's a great solution! Might do that next time I really want to keep some shades!
8:49 Wait a minute, is that a pan?
No just a speck of glitter! 😭
You might want to message Lauren Mae beauty, she may have a video she depots a lot of pallets that I remember
