Melanie Reinhart B.A. D.F.Astrol.S. is a patron of the Faculty of Astrological Studies and a prize-winning holder of their Diploma (1979). She also trained in Horary with Geoffrey Cornelius (1990-91) and Deborah Houlding (2012). Astrology has been central to Melanie’s life since 1959, and she has been a professional astrologer since 1975: writing, offering consultations and teaching internationally. Since 1989, she has presented original material on new celestial objects, notably the Centaurs. Books: ‘Chiron and the Healing Journey’, ‘Saturn, Chiron and the Centaurs’, and 'Incarnation'. Melanie has a special interest in contemplative experience both as a healing process and also as a learning modality.
Heather and Melanie, this conversation is enlightening, and heart-wise. Thank you so much! On the ancestral healing, back in 2011 I was talking with Divine Grace angels about a challenge related to a family member's lifelong health condition that was impacting me and others. The angels told me to make something physical, like a card, and write on it things like "You are safe. You are loved. You have everything you need." and with intention, send it back through that person's ancestral lines, and it would go back and come forward and help me and other impacted family members.
In the following 3-6 months, 3 of us in the family had dramatic powerful healings, including that the person with the lifelong health condition healed from it. Later I started facilitating that process, what I call Boomerang Blessings, and I see people healing physically, emotionally, relationally, whatever they most need or desire. One person had a generational health condition, and ancestors communicated to that person "You are the one we've been waiting for."
So, yes, it seems that all the beings that we consider in a generational line are receiving just the benefit they need, which makes things better for their children and their children, all the way to the youngest family member. And it seems to affect timelines as well as what must be millions of beings, truly even in the simultaneity of time. I also do this process on behalf of myself and all ancestors of different incarnations that I have experienced, known or unknown.
I wonder how this fits in with Chiron and or the other Healing Centaurs. I have Chiron at my midheaven.

Divine Grace angels told me that we really are sending all that Light through all those generations. They suggested choosing crystals to serve as capacitors of sending that much Light energy. When it's not convenient, I simply ask the Himalayas or the Sierras or some other expansive mountains to serve as the capacitors.

I love the inclusion of the ancestral thread which is something I observe every day in gratitude and with invocation of blessings. I have noticed that the charts in my birth family and my present family, as well as others' families I have been part of, show relationships and patterns. Energy is inscribed in flesh, as in light, as in the cosmos. We are all a part of Indra's Net, reflecting the same whole, but from different angles, immersed in different neighborhoods and families. The centaurs evoke Saggittarius, as well, pointing us towatd that center of our galaxy, the place for grounding our light bodies in this galaxy, as the center of the Earth is where we ground in our physical Earth bodies.

Gratitude for all the wonderful, healing interviews Heather and thank you Melanie for your wisdom. You are so thorough and effective to the understanding out condition. I think we all have stories from back in 1977. I left home because of disappointments and got married and remember the breakdown that overwhelmed me, but I had no other way/survival. Chiron has become the Rainbow Bridge between the Inner and Outer Planets in my healing as Chiron transits and has now come full circled. Brings up the idea of the Chakra system of our very being that is infused at birth the freuency of the lessons we need. A healing approach to our journey. Now with the knowledge of our dna/amino acids and the shift we aare in to the opening of the multi dimensions through our complete healing and the tools we need to find the freedom that Uranus offers. This is a beautiful New Moon season... wow Leo!

My phone rolled out of bed this morning (as I fell asleep the night before listening to something on CZcams) and started playing the new moon update from Heather. This was the first time I have ever heard of her. I listened for the first few minutes without picking my phone up, immediately drawn by her gentle way of speaking with so much knowing and wisdom flowing. I finished watching the rest of it, and have been feeling into it the whole day. I opened youtube again about an hour ago, and saw this video - drawn to Melanie’s full name because it sounded South-African, and I’m from SA.
These are the elders and crones we are calling forth. And we’re listening.

I love Melanie's opening comment about the need to have a direct feeling or relationship with something before deepening the learning. This is validation for myself, I do not have mercury retrograde in my chart, but this resonates.
Incorporation of what was, rather than destruction, as the agency of Saturn and Uranus is so powerful. The "crucial edge" of Chiron at the edge of the boundary, God of the in-between, Uranus as a clear space of the unknowable future - what a beautiful picture. Calling in healing awareness around how we try and control our future vision with anxiety-based structures.
Understanding that transitional times are a reactivation/integration space for healing (menopause) with its own timing and logic that sometimes syncs with our clock time but has its own unfolding...tuning into the invisible yin qualities of Chariclo as the lodestone emanation of that consciousness (clues to how it functions in the healing process) is so instructive! Holding the capacity to feel seen, held and heard is where I have been focusing my energies in my own life. I feel I have always occupied this role, but this has been a wound rather than a strength, now I am beginning to tap into the deep power in this act.
I love the understanding that the ancestral healing wisdom naturally unfolds in those transitional spaces between the living and the dead and this is part of the new earth. Our willingness to sit with the uncomfortable parts of our process and inner journey is our connection point with ancestral resonance - the thread that will resonate back and into the future.
The "raw effects" of the astronomy speaking on a symbolic level is such a gem of insight that I will be holding with me from here on out. I don't know about others but I have been feeling such a shift in the quality and malleability of time.

As an example, I loved how she saw the boundary of Capricorn 30° and Aquarius 1° as an expression of the Chiron archetype. As you mentioned, Chiron has indeed been very present in 2023 and 2024 while Pluto straddles such a boundary; even being exactly conjunct the new moon at the April 8 solar eclipse! I also gained a huge appreciation for Chariklo, who in myth was not a centaur but a nymph, and which I will now begin to incorporate in my astrology.
This is another video that my psyche will ruminate for days to come. Thank you again. 🙏

Dear Heather and Melanie, there is something I am not clear about. To my understanding, Chiron, while (mainly in Aquarius) orbited between Uranus and Neptune. I feel it collected information about our flawed ideals as well as pointed to where we are short of Aquarian principles. Somewhere between 2006 and 2010. Then, it crossed over to continue its orbit between Saturn and Uranus while in Pisces, 2011-2018 bringing back all that info, but since it is so far from the Sun and especially because it was in Pisces, it was very difficult to get a conscious vision of it. Then it went into Aries, where we start anew, but because Chiron is an agent with a paralysing effect this resulted in an additional difficulty to heal. That is maybe the reason behind the fact that there has been such a proliferation of methods of healing all over the world. We know we are sick, we know there is an infinite number of ways to get better and yet we are paralysed. Chiron is faring so so so far from the center, trying to deal with collective ailments and we as individual are left with swimming, drifting along with Saturn in Pisces, feeling lost and powerless. Does this resonate with you at all?
Thank you for sharing these thoughts and questions, and perhaps Melanie will respond and provide more information and wisdom in response. My understanding is that Chiron never crosses over the orbit of Uranus (though it gets close to it), so it doesn't orbit between Uranus and Neptune but rather between Saturn's orbit and Uranus' orbit. I also do not see Chiron as "an agent with a paralysing effect." I view transits with Chiron (in whatever sign it is in) as bringing active, healing energy to that sign and to the house and aspects that it activates in our own charts. I do see the expansion of our exploration of holistic and energy ways of healing as being catalyzed by Chiron's discovery in 1977 and its ongoing influence in our lives individually and collectively.
Wonderful insights to reflect upon. I love the ideas of Chariclo providing a Yin space to allow healing to take place & bearing witness to the process. I feel that many of us are in this situation, in relation to global events, where we cannot take actions to directly effect change, & all we can do is to bear witness. There is a form of Tui Na - Traditional Chinese Massage - which is Yin - providing gentle support - holding the body to give permission to the person to feel safe & a space for spontaneous healing to take place without intervention. Dr Janice Hadlock, a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor based in the USA, has written about her practice of Yin Tui Na.
