#3dprinting #steamdeck - Hry
What other kinds of accessories would you guys like to see for the Steam Deck?? Or other handhelds too I suppose... 🤔
Steam deck case cover , so i don't need to buy the whole kits (dbrand killswitch) . for me thats all i need using my spigen case
Hey @wermy . Was wondering what material you would recommend for the battery backpack? My fear is PLA would get too hot and eventually warp. Would you recommend Nylon PA12, or possibly PETG?
Could you print a back cover of The Steam Deck which provides easier access to the M2 drive ? Also, could you work on a Steam Deck cover with a honeycomb design that is lighter?
@@BaradaNels you want petg. It's incredibly strong, light weight, heat resistant and has almost zero shrinkage. It's amazing. I've used it for commercial diving hats as black out trainers for a school.
@@charlestannehill7537 Thanks for that. I used petg for a GPU shroud (noctua low profile fans). Do you think it will have enough bend in it to take the thing on and off the Deck? My shroud has ZERO bend.
Perfect timing wermy. I've been following your content for years and I finally got a 3D printer. Just a few days ago I printed that Xenomorph you showcased on your channel, and now I'm printing the Steam Deck dock for the Anker hub I already had. You and the content you bring to us are a godsend.
You made wildly different topics go together very well. Cool prints, good use ideas and great tips for fusion modeling for 3d prints.
Thanks
Love the accessories! And it’s super cool you shared your process/tips for making them! I’d be interested in a more portable dock for a nice stable place to sit and charge when traveling, or some use for the charging cord hole on the back of the case!
I was literally just sitting down to start designing a dock for the Steam Deck, saw this video and well.....this does make things easier
Wow after all these years I found you again. Still going strong!! Love your work man!
I was thinking of adding a cable extension to the ssd port and make a small shell bulge for the back of the deck to house a 4tb 2280.
Sounds cool would like to see something like that
Omgh I'm so glad google showed me your channel again. I hadn't seen it in a few years and CZcams stopped showing it to me in my newsfeed!
welcome back wermy! you're an inspiration. Great video with great ideas!
Been a while yet always happy to see an upload from you ^^
hey, nice to see that you're still making videos. i liked the tip about using project-intersect, i've never done that before. if you have anymore fusion tips, i'd be glad to hear them in future videos
It’s such a useful operation! 🤘
Always neat to see your creativity
Thank you so much for the Fusion tips.
Just found your channel. I enjoyed your videos and wanted to say thanks and keep at it. Your videos are direct and very informative. You earned a sub from me. I learned fusion for machining but am going to start printing some stuff out.
Thanks for showing us your Deck and Deck accessories. It's a nice looking Deck.

@@wermy I only recently discovered your channel, and I have fallen in love with the concept and design of a Minty Pi. I wnated to buy a MintyPi 3.5, however I am unable to find parts anywhere, Is there a plan to create a MintyPi V4 or restock the parts for older models?
Just now finding your channel. I don’t know if you’ll read this as I’m posting on a year old video but after seeing the previous one about this channel turning into feeling like a job instead of a hobby, I just wanted to say something. Your content is great and appreciated no matter what it’s specifically about. Don’t ever feel like you need to do something you don’t want to do for the channel to “keep up with expectations” as I’m sure most viewers would say they just like seeing the cool projects and learning. You just talking about interesting projects you take on for fun is completely satisfying to watch. Just don’t feel pressured to do stuff you don’t want. You don’t own us anything and we are appreciative of the time you do/can take to make videos. As I’m just now finding the videos, I’ve been watching through all the older ones and it would be super great if you got motivated again to start making more.
Thank you! this is some awesome stuff, and I learned something new!
Nice! I like the approach to design! That’s what I’m also trying to do in my projects 😊
what an amazing lesson on fusion360. thanks Wermy
Fantastic video again keep up the good work
This is increíble and very clever actually having what you had in your hands, I wish I had a friend like you to make me those because I have no idea of 3D printing 😭
I make models in Fusion for boardgame inserts. I am also a huge fan of the steam deck. The project/cross section instruction is fantastic. I would have made a big block and used the body of the deck to cut a negative space out from it like a noob. Thank you!
i love your designs thank you for stl and step files
where'd you go?
Dude! I didn’t know about the project option! Great tip. Thanks!
Happy to help! 😁
The tutorial part itself could be a video on its own, that was very good!
Wow awesome projects
Good job wermy !
Well done video
I was JUST wondering when youd be back haha
Excellent timing just got my shipping email’🎉
Yesssss, enjoy!
you still alive bro
Me: *zeros in on Thousand Sunny model on CAD site. *
This is a really helpful video. Sorry if I missed this in the video, but are you using PLA for the battery backpack itself or something else?
Oh, this is awesome. Does it have L and R buttons?
I am so glad I found your channel. Would it be possible to message you personally? We have equivalent potential, but I have some other ideas and I think two heads are better than one. We could mutually benefit. I'm just trying to make the most of this great foundation that valve gave us.
Wow great video and free models?!?
Dang a year with no uploads, hope the dude isn't dead
He’s been uploading shorts very recently. So at least no one forgot the password!
@@bencooler2003 oh okay that's good, I literally just found this dude and noticed he hasn't uploaded lol
Where did you go??!?!
Is possible for you to make dock with an 80mm fan housing? So it can Force more cool air into the steam deck
Hi wermy, I know you probably get tired of this question but I have been inactive for a while, any plans for a mintypi v4?? I got the kit for 3.0 but never got all the pieces in time so I’ve been waiting for the next
Try make a case with a extra charging port and battery like the iPhone battery case
Great video thank you quick question is the universal backpack.stl file printed using PLA ? and the straps and washer.stl's using TPU ?
Just the strap is TPU, everything else PLA. you’ll need a couple M2 screws as well, preferably self-tapping - totally forgot to mention that!
@@wermy a bit gutted i was just about to print the universal stl when i realised duh i purchased the NA steam deck protector case from amazon! Not sure if you can help me out on this one and hazard a guess on what you would resize it to before printing lol 4mm allround?
NA Protective Case for Steam Deck Game Console,TPU Protection Soft Shell Case Shockproof Anti-drop Cover (black) amzn.eu/d/cUN8BV8
Are you still making videos? I miss these projects.
This is awesome, what type of filament did you use?
Just added links for the filament I used! Check the description. :)
Can you provide a link to the tpu straps that you used in the video?
Can I import the file into Fusion and modify the back part. the slot is a little bit too small so i want to make it bigger

Any chance of getting the minty pi pcb?
PLEASE do wii u emulator build, would be awsome.
i am new to 3d printing can you recommend software i should DL for my pc
thank you
3D print a new back cover with larger area for a 99Wh battery :)
Can you upload the resin L2 R2 buttons from the mintypi v3.5 to thingiverse?
@wermy Can the deck battery backpack be printed without supports?
You could probably get away with none but you might want a little bit on the arms or they will come out messy.
Hi. What are some 3d printers you would recommend for someone buying there first 3d printer? Not looking to be cheap. Can do couple hundred dollars and maybe up to $500. Looking for something dependable, parts and accessories easily available, support and knowledge is out there on the web and CZcams. Step above beginner due to quick learning curve.
Thanks in advance!
Can you share please link to short angle type c cable?)
Links for everything are in the blog post - check the description. :)
@@wermy Ok, thanks! Does this cable support data transfering, or it is only charging support? Power Delivery up to 65w?🤔🙈
@@tblkbandec It does data as well. I'm not sure about the power delivery rating, but it charges the deck full speed. :)
The battery pack (safuel) I believe would be pronounced safe fuel
Aaaah you're probably right!
So it is deck mate but worse?
What are you doing STEP-file? 😳
Have you ever used FreeCAD or Blender? Could you make a model and 3D print it using one or both of those?
I’ve messed with both of those a tiny bit, but definitely not enough to make a decent video about them. 😬
@@wermy Might make a good video or two for you to record your experiences with one or the other. Maybe even two apiece and it could bring in more viewers.

What game is that @0:53?
That's Overload. If you like the old Descent games, you'll love this -- it's actually made by some of the original creators of Descent (and it plays beautifully on the Deck).

But where did he go....
I’m here. 😄 I’ve been posting updates on Instagram and CZcams shorts.
