I feel like Justin being one of the best CvS2 players of all time made this challenge a little unfair to everyone else.
And Justin did this challenge forcing himself to use all low tiers like Kyosuke. This is light work for him

Omega Rugal in 2002 UM would be an interesting follow up to this video, since that version is the most difficult version of Rugal in my experience.
G Rugal is harder than the O Rugal from 02um. Maybe you have a different impression because it's actually harder to get to O Rugal than G Rugal. And CvS2 being an easier game overall than KoF 02um. And of course the chances of you being less experienced in KoF than in CvS2.
The hardest Rugal is easily the 95 version. Then the 94 version.
Rugal in 02UM isn’t that much harder than his usual self...
...it’s just that you only have 1 shot at him. Lose, and it’s straight to the staff roll.
@@Wolfedge75 Yeah, he's slighty harder than vanilla KOF 2002 just because his defense levels are over Lv.8 (but his overall AI is the same), the conditions to get him is kinda difficult to get (just the fact that you can ONLY lose up to 3 rounds from start to the normal finish during the entire arcade run is the biggest pain in the gut, not to mention that you have to pay atention to that, because if you lose a round against the boss, you have to DM him to get to Rugal if your rounds lost is less or equal than 3, and if you're playing any of the Arcade versions, you CANNOT get challenged by another player, because that will make the game count your run as you had a match lost by default).

Nah, if you know how to exploit his AI pattern, 2002 UM Omega Rugal isn't too bad. '94 Rugal, even when you know his AI routines can still outright murder you. Especially if you were unlucky enough to eat the full 3 hits of his Genocide Cutter up close.

94-95 Rugal need 1 regular G Cutter to do the same damage that CvS2 bosses do with their max supers

this is a relatively fair version of rugal. Should get them to fight the others. They need to have PTSD reactions when his dlc trailer for KOF XV comes out.

Remember fighting this boss with the homies in 5th grade honestly my favorite fighting game ever even over mvc2 I love that people are still playing this godlike game to this day

Man, I remember taking him down years ago, between Omega Rugal and Shin Akuma, Omega was definitely easier. Omega is pretty cheap but with a lack double air hado, being able to tatsu into two uppercuts, being able to fire a hado and warp in what feels like 1 frame after, and two insta kill supers Shin is way harder. But if they want to try an actual difficult challenge then do boss rush with the team format on. If you lose that's game over, you still need to hit the point requirement and the final boss is 3 of the same character, ratio mode ain't nothing do the actual challenge 😁

Yeah, God Rugal is in no way easy, but Shin Akuma was IMO the harder fight. I think it's just simply because Rugal has the flashier moves that he looks scarier to fight, while Akuma is already a known quality by that point.

I just did a 3 on 3 playthrough on the hardest difficulty with Ryu, Ken & Sagat and i defeated the super secret boss Ultimate Rugal without continuing
Sagat cr.HP was the OP button in the arcades back in the day. I ran rugal, sagat, blanka. Damn this game was sooo good back in the day. We need a remake
One of my fave high school gaming memories is beating God Rugal and unlocking the Extra Option mode after beating Boss Rush. Strangely enough, I got by with spamming DP over and over, even with Dan.

I recall the only way I could really beat these bosses was with Morrigan. She also has a fireball and DP, but her air fireball causes her to float back a bit, making it safer from anti-air moves.
also ironically normal rugal is really strong at taking out shin akuma and god rugal because his jump is super high (way higher than god version) and air d, f, punch takes them out no problem.

You can the developers actually love for these characters and game, SNK & Capcom crossover, it was a dream back then, Rugal stage and his design looks absolutely sick as always! You can see the attention to detail man! I wish in this time we got CVS3 i can't imagine the hype and excitement it would bring
