    Moon roof is standard on the touring and optional on the limited

    Really good job on this review. Appreciate it. Just wish I could get the 3.6 Limited without the moon roof. Just never have been a big fan of intentionally putting a hole in the roof of ones car.

    If only the larger sunroof from the Forester could fit the Outback, or at the very least a larger sunroof than what the Outback currently has.

      Eyesight package is optional and this particular one did not have it.

    Does it have a heated stirring wheel?

    • @K5Jon
      @K5Jon Před 6 lety +3

      The 2018 "Touring" model features a heated steering wheel which is the top of the line model. It would be nice if other models featured it either as standard or as an optional item at time of ordering.

    My Subaru never gave me 25mpg until I started using AMSOIL.

      George Travers My Legacy also has a cvt, but not even close to that. It would give me 22mpg. Now it finally moved up to 25.

      MrRedskins0021 - Make sure you are using the right weight oil 0W - 20 Synthetic.

      George Travers maybe Subaru was using cheap oil. The moment I used AMSOIL, it went up. 0W20

    Is this based on a new global platform which is applied to Impreza 2018?

    • @TubeBrowser2
      @TubeBrowser2 Před 6 lety

      No. 2019 or 2020 Outback will be restyled on new platform.

    • @K5Jon
      @K5Jon Před 6 lety +1

      The 2020 redesign model set for summer 2019 release will be the first model to have the Global Platform. Next model to get it will be the 2019 Forester as it will be all-new and it debuts in the Fall of 2018.

    • @jasonpark5152
      @jasonpark5152 Před 6 lety

      Impreza 2017 is the first model to have the new global platform.

    • @K5Jon
      @K5Jon Před 6 lety

      Yup sure is, followed by the 2019 Forester and 2020 Outback. The 2019 Ascent due out in 2018 is expected to be built on a modified version of the Global Platform and we should finally see the production version of it at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show debuting tomorrow (11/28).

    Subaru seems to be doing what other makers have done..... not really offering new styling, just cosmetics and a couple more bells and whistles, and raising prices. The vehicle looks practically identical to the older ones; not really dramatically different than the previous several years.

    • @K5Jon
      @K5Jon Před 6 lety

      You do understand that car models don't change every year, right? Changes to cars are very minor each year, only during the mid-cycle refresh and the new model cycle do you notice much. Subaru is on a 5-year plan for their cars which means the bigger changes occur every five years. Overall the Subaru Outback has retained its primary shape since it debuted in 2010, but if you look at the 2010 and the 2018 there have been a good number of changes. The 2020 model set to be released in late summer 2019 will be the first year of the new model. What it looks like nobody knows, there aren't any concept or spy photos out, but overall it will more than likely keep its overall design but be sleeker. It will also be the first Outback model built on Subaru's new Global Platform. The 2019 Forester which will debut in the Fall of 2018 will also be a brand new model (as the 2018 is the final year for the current design) and it will be the first Forester model on the new Global Platform as well.

      SBFan20 -- Guess I'll have to wait for tha 2019's, huh? Yeah , I really do understand. But thanks for your input.

    • @K5Jon
      @K5Jon Před 6 lety

      The 2019 model will be the same, only subtle changes. The 2020 model will be the first year of the "new" model cycle, how different it will be remains to be seen, I think overall the car will remain the same, possibly a tab bit bigger and sleeker in design. My guess is for 2019 since it will be the last year of the current cycle, we will see Subaru offer some sort of "special edition" much like how they are doing with the current 2018 Forester by offering the Black Edition which is primarily some cosmetic changes, but overall for the $1150 price for the extras on that edition it seems worth it, those LED steering-responsive headlights on it are quite nice. More than likely the 2019 Outback will have something similar to close out the current model year.

      nota newbie subaru has a 5 year model lifecycle. You will only see minor updates until the full refresh which will be 2020 for the Outback
