*Ab-So-Lute-Ly!!!* I started with Guild Wars 1 in Shing Jea almost exactly 11 years ago and I want to see the old home again after 250 years.
But first, I´ll unwrap that traitorous mumy Palawa Joko and turn his bandages into nasty toilet paper and THEN I´ll put the Usoku dynasty in Cantha six feet under!

Looks amazing!! Crystal Desert was my favorite setting in GW1 and I'm ecstatic to see them bring it back.
New players, now is as good as ever to hop aboard.
I'm excited to get huge horizontal maps. Makes me really feel like I'm in a massive world instead of a set of instances
I like these videos more than the main trailer.
This is enough to bring me back to the game. So happy to see Guild Wars go back to its roots, especially story wise. I was so sick of the Elder Dragon storyline and bringing back an old god is wonderful.
Elona is cool, but I need Cantha's map back again :)

I'll only be back to playing this game if they add the dervish, I love the idea of going back to Elona, but it just wouldn't be complete without a dervish.

Balthazar going rogue makes me wonder: are Human players and NPCs still going to use his name in reverence, or are all Balthazar lines going to be cut to show their disgust with him? XD Something tells me he's going to get a (undeserved) redemption or he'll get replaced by some other guy, whose name and image replaces Balthazar in all human stuff

Why the hell ESO Morrowind does look so poor compared to this??? ... I mean maps in ESO are small and they look so banal ... ok maybe there are some cute vistas but not as epic and big as these ones in GW2 ... seriously Zenimax should learn from ANet ... Its a shame because ESO has a greater lore than GW2.

All this talk about exploration....can I fly yet Arenanet? Do I have flying mounts or can I put on a jetpack. Jetpacks are all the rage now -_-
As sarcastic as the comment is, I'd like to say that Flying Mounts actually ruined any mystique in World of Warcraft, maps lost a lot of their sense of scale and everything was just to easy to now explore. I think adding it to any game is incredibly detrimental in the long run and really only serves convenience over immersion or interesting map design.
Yeah. I really enjoyed flying mounts in World of Warcraft, but it was mostly because of sloth. At that point in the game, the mystery and the magic had faded away, and it was just a numbers game with cool pixels. Guild Wars manages to maintain the mystique and the sense of immersion and exploration in a way Warcraft could not, and I do think flying mounts would ruin that, while these sort of mounts have the potential to expand it instead.

Only 5 maps? They better be some big-ass maps
They've said multiple times that they're larger than any maps they've released before. Supposedly (according to people who've analyzed the leaks) they're about 1.5x the size of the average core Tyria map.
I know they've said it will be larger, but I'm being skeptical
Idk if you've seen the leaks, but I'll just say there isn't much need to be skeptical at this point.
All the 5 new maps are bigger in total than all of the HoT maps + the 6 LS 3 maps combined

Gw2 became b2p with subs.. if you dont buy you will not keep up in pvp
HoT for me was a disappointment for three reasons:
-The maps were pretty much the same biome with very forced geography unlike the beautiful expanse of gw2 base.
-The maps were defined by a single meta event that most players just timed to join for it to skip all the irrelevant content.
Events weren't rewarding and they often had bosses specifically made to cheese out people playing them solo...
-Finally the maps were horrible to navigate and they were too counter-intuitive.
To find a specific vista you had too often to go to a seemingly unrelated path and make awkward gliding strafes, you had to specifically look-up how to get to them rather than happen upon them and admire the beauty.
This ruined the maps for me, due to the frustration of packs of harsh enemies hindering exploration.
Im hopeful the maps in PoF are not defined by a single meta-event and that the tough fights and bosses are actually individually rewarding.
Also I hope they don't do what HoT did, used masteries to gate content very harshly, there was no point having a lvl 80 boost to join your friends if they had all the masteries and wanted to do stuff you couldent reach which was counter-intuitive to the whole lvl 80 boost system!
The new Elonian maps look:
-Diverse in biomes.
-Simple to navigate.
-dotted events such as bounties that are REWARDING instead of spamming meta-events and going afk until the next one is up.
-Interesting enemies not just mordrem for all 4 maps!
-Bigger areas to explore! (without 1 of the 4 maps being on a timer to get into that you have to commit hours to see through).
-REWARDING SECRET AREAS and NOT HAVING TO WATCH 7 CZcams GUIDESS TO COMPLETE ALL 7 VISTAS!
-Relevant to gw1 (there was no shining blade locations in all of the Maguuma that I recognised at all, no vine bridges or centaurs)
-No chak, no mushrooms (packs of tough enemies that alone prevented casuals from getting past, the chak stronghold was stupid to get into and so chok-full of chak it was impossible to clear).
-Cultured.
On top of this we get a head dev that doesn't make false promises and leaves another to pick up his pieces, and a new head dev that GIVES US WHAT WE WANT!

Desmond Hume that's not the point he's making, you've misunderstood. when HoT was released all the new specializations were meta, they still are and it pushes many players who don't have the new expansion out of alot of effectiveness in PvP
HoT will not be free, but you can play the new expansion without owning HoT.
I would say it will be much healthier for pvp if every player will got the same options.. now there will be 3 types of communities.. lots of salt will be there

it has arenas what are you talking about, and why do you need dueling in pve zones seriosuly. whats wrong with you just go in to an empy pvp server or a 1v1 server christ
TheBirdsDen sorry poor pve pleb. We should not ask for somes pvp or wvw becaus anet dont even care about us for 4 years now..so yes somes duels zones could be nice. (And lol for sure they didnt even talk about news they could add in pvp or wvw becaus they dont even remember this still exist.)
You might as well be trolling, They aren't talking about WvW or PvP in these videos of the expack since they said that the PvP and WvW teams are a seapret thing to the expansion and they will continue to add updates regularly. Now your point about them not remembering is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. WvW literally had an update not to long ago that revamped alot of things and added alot more progression into the game. For PvP, they added automated tournaments, a new lobby and the new ranked match updates were fairly recent as well.
You either haven't been keeping up to date with the game, or you are trying to start a flame war.
