I had Eton Mess when I was in Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls.) and it is as delicious as Nigella says. Another way to get the Strawberries to create their juice is by taking a bowl of fresh strawberries and giving a good helping of Icing sugar - leave in the fridge for an hour and you have the strawberries in their own juice. You can mix passionfruit seeds as well and it is just as good. My mother calls it 'Poor man's Romanov' (I don't know why - don't ask.)
"I adore the way it comes bulging out over the rims, and now a brazen brush on each pale cheek, to topple out these juicy diced berrys, they look lit up from within... and let some of the red juices dribble down the sides"... OK THEN
Girl In Trouble oh yes ... 3 table spoons balsamico mixed with 3 tablespoons sugar. Let strawberry's marinate in this mixture for a half hour in the fridge and sirve with cream....Delicious!!
For real she only added 3 teaspoons of sugar to those berries and merengies are not terribly sweet... I think this would be too tart and too bland from all that plain cream
I never liked Nigella's habit during her shows of getting up from the dining table and heading into the kitchen to fix another course. It's disrespectful to one's guests to leave them alone. One should have the meal (including dessert) ready to be served when the meal begins.
only these elite psychopaths would get meringue, strawberry's and cream for desert at school. probably had kavier and truffles on a nice bit of Wagyu beef steak before that.. all on a Wednesday.
remember watching her when I was a kid at midnight with my sister and getting hungry
I love how the fridge goes beer>beer>beer>beer>cream.
U funny
It's how every fridge should be
@@matthewrs7 yeah if you’re a booze hound

My favourite dessert is a crushed up meringue and whipped cream and canned peaches. Soooooo yummy
I can listen to her talk all day...love her!

A ''brazen blush'' actually! She is likening it to a pale face with rosey red cheeks. Think Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummidge!
Thank you so much....I just love watching and learning from you!
now I remember why I used to like watching Nigella's show! lol
This is such joy !
Had this last night. So yummy. Have some left in fridge. May just eat it now.

It's actually called Eton mess because it was always served at the annual cricket match between Eton and Winchester
Everything she says sounds like a come on. I like it:)

You can give a cream more body with some mascarpone creme. Try it!

Shouldn't the cream be sweetened a bit?
the mirangue and strawberries do that for you
She added sugar to the strawberries in the beginning..

Most definitely! I always add a little bit more sugar and some good vanilla extract to the cream.
@@tylerhughes5420 you joking meringues are very sweet full o sugar already
I cant believe a tv program was made for this grade1 dessert! Really Nigella? and with store bought meringue??
