- Do You Really Need All That Floetrol? Why To Use Less Pouring Medium & Beginners Dutch Pour tutorial in which I have broken down each and every color with exact measurements. You do not want to miss this. The video explains why all of that Floetrol or Pouring Medium is just not necessary and in turn its a great way to save some cash on supplies. 2 corrections in this video. the ratio that showed up on screen 70%/33% is a typo.. It should have read 70%/30%. Second correction. I did NOT end up using a tablespoon of floetrol for the colors.. I used a half teaspoon. This video is loaded with many helpful tips especiallyfor beginners or those who love the Dutch Pour . Although I used these extremely pigmented paints I could have extended them much more than I did by using more Floetrol. However this is a demonstration and therefore I imagined my Paints are the same that alot of people use which would be your average liquitex/arteza etc and therefore those types of paints would be just right for using less mediums than normal. My point being using expensive well.pigmented paints deserves more mediums so that you can get more for yoir money. I know , confusing. .I'm trying my friends. lol. Hello my friends ❤Please excuse the 2 mistakes in this video. 1st a typo when speaking of ratios. It should have said 70/30% not 70/33% and secondly I stated I was going to mix the colors with a tablespoon of Floetrol. That is incorrect. All colors were mixed 1 teaspoon paint, 1/2 teaspoon Floetrol and water amount of water I stated for each color. I thank you for your support. You all are rock stars to me❤
Tammy I love your c teachings. I've been painting a few years but lately my hands from arthritis have just been hurting too bad. Do yoyou have any suggestions
This is my e-mail as I think if you have suggestions - pamagibson08 @gmail.com 💖
No, you're the rock star!
@@pamagibson08 I am currently using the generic version of Voltaren for my arthritis. Check with your doctor to see if it's a possible aid for you. It's a gel applied topically.
I love your instructions. They really help me learn more. I appreciate it.😊💗💗💗🤗
Thank you so much Tammy for taking the time to share all of this helpful information. These teaching videos not only save us from much frustration, they save us time and money! You are such a great teacher. I appreciate you.
Yes I think she is a great teacher who really cares that we get learn how to do the technique correctly thank you Tammy for your kindness and knowledge I appreciate your worth and work
Thank you for trying mixing another paint into the artist loft!! 👏👏 That answered a question I had! It is one hungry paint! You are such an awesome teacher!! 🌟🌟 Thank goodness you post to CZcams!! People world wide can benefit from your teaching!!🌍🌍 ❤❤
Awww ty my friend❤
Tammy you are always a wonderful teacher.
You always explain things in a way I need to hear it. If ever an artist blows thru an explanation that need further info on I have a notebook labeled “just ask Tammy” I keep to jot it down and refer to later. So far, 100% of the time you not only have the answer I’m seeking, you have the answer I’m seeking with 25 other things I didn’t even know I needed to know! Seriously I just needed to say thank you bc you have been instrumental in my artistry. Thank you 🙏🏻 thank you!!
Happy pouring to you Tammy! I love watching your videos and listening to you explain in detail. You’re a generous soul!
Thank you Tammy! The explanations and formulas were so helpful! The colors are just exquisite!
Great video, Tammy. Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together!
IMO, I feel that beginners, such as myself, have a consensus view and a misguided focus regarding lacing and cell production, due to so many how to videos. It can be frustrating. I am happy to have found your channel, as you explain the basics and the how to apply them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thank you for taking your time to show us a few things that we’ve been wondering about. I’d heard many artists speaking about Artists Loft white excessive lacing, I was waiting to see if it was more than just a few. Instead I’ve learned it’s almost every bottle from 2020 and 2021. I love cells and lacing but sometimes I do not want either of those in my pours. Excellent description! I love your willingness to teach and learn at the same time.
Hi Tammy, just wanted to THANK YOU!!! You are a wonderful teacher and I love your pours
I love your art. so helpful since I am a beginner. I have been watching numerous videos and yours in one of the best. I haven't attempted yet, as I want to learn as much as I can before I begin. Thanks for a wonderful video.
Thank you for all the information!!! Love the colors!! Tks for sharing 😊
Thanks Tammy for your skills and willingness to share them. Lots of love🙏🏻
Awesome Tammy,
I love you & your videos. I've learned so much from you. I hope you never stop. ❤️
What a fantastic video ! Two gorgeous Dutch pours ..wonderful colors ! ThanksTammy for spending your time to share your knowledge with us …looks like you had a fab time in Belize ! ❤️😎
Thanks so much for that deep dive into the Dutch pour for us!!!
I really like the colors you used in the second painting. Thank you for taking the time to teach us everything that you do.
Thank you for all the incredible info packed into this video. I’m a newbie to pouring (and actually quit after scraping one canvas four times in a row!), but this info is super helpful. Thank you!!
Tammy: It's an absolute joy and uplift to my seriously dragging spirits to listen to you talk pouring and do canvases. Have lost several sets of support groups due to Pandemic. So, fighting despondency by learning fun and beautiful art is a win-win!! 💕 💕 💕
Re: Artist Loft white Acrylic issue -- It went bad 4 me in early 2021 or late 2020 -- not sure which. Never in 40 years of using art supplies have I ever had anything near this happen.
The paint granulated up like Lucerne small curd cottage cheese.
I thought it was high summer heat that might have caused evaporation. So, didn't think to return it. Poured distilled, cold water in it and shook it silly -- to no change.
Then, I heard Kanella Curacao talk about her journey with Michael's to get them to look into this. That was months ago.
Last week she reported her follow up with no progress. I figured at start of Pandemic stores tried to cover shortages by dumping whatever was in their warehouses. ??? Idk
Back to this video: You created a mostI lovely purple here. Was it the " Flesh" in your pour combining with blues and greens? Does 24k Gold have red in it's mix that deepens the purple? Untinted Titanium had similar outcomes 4 me as "Flesh" (my red source was probably Raw Sienna or Burnt Sienna). Made knock my socks off wet sand color.
Even despite the typo, the information is invaluable!! Wasting product is one of my biggest stressors as a beginner. Many, many thanks!! 🙏👍🙏
Oh, these pieces are so gorgeous!!! I need to keep watching so I can figure out all the lingo! Brand new to this form of medium and I want to learn as much as I can before even attempting it one day. 😁
I love the lacing too! Fabulous. Thank you so much for sharing out of your heart ❤️
Thank you for your sharing of knowledge!!! I learn each time!
Thanks for taking the time to help!!!
thank ypu for doing all you do for your painting family. I learn something evrytime. love the way you teach
Hey Tammy,
Thanks again for another great teaching lesson, you are the rock star for sure. Just thought I would pass along the measurements for the Tablespoons etc. in ML. 1TBL = 15 ml, 1 TSP = 5 ml, 1/2 TSP = 2.5 ml, 1/4 TSP = 1.25 ML. I buy my mixing spoons from the dollar store they are Betty Crocker and they have the measurements on the spoons. Maybe this will help someone along the way. Happy Pouring Girlfriend :)
I absolutely love your second colour palette, just stunning🍀🍀💓💓
thank you so much for yet another great demostration, with a lot of great tips.... you're help is priceless

Hi Tammy, I think you are wonderful , I painted for many years, oils, then acrylics. I just recently found this way liquid painting, I just did my first Ocean wave today the hairdryer connector thing is two long not width, i ended up blowing it over with a metal straw. For sure you need a strong power hairdryer. Now I need a different end to make the wave look nicer. Your tutorials are brilliant, Thank you for your time. I am in Canada. Jordyn
Tysm for teaching us and the demonstrations they were wonderful.
Thank you for great detailed information on these pour acrylic materials. Long time professional artist just discovering the potential of pour acrylics. Worked in oils and sculpted/resin casted, but my current studio won’t allow for gassy mediums. Will enjoy the challenge of something new. Can’t sit to get started. Oh, and from the beginning I believed in quality materials.
I learned more from your one video then the last 3 yrs following different people and I really appreciate your guidance…
Tammy as I'm a newbie I found this video very helpful also have enjoyed viewing your basic's series have found them most helpful for me. It can be very confusing with the paint mixing. But you have made it easier to understand. Will continue to view your video's
Another excellent video, Tammy! 👍
Thank you so much! 💫⚘
I just love these videos which you make, they are very informative.
You are such an excellent teacher!!!
Thank you so much. Really informative 💕
I think this is STUNNING! ❤️
Thanks. I learned lot from this video! Your work is awesome.
You are such a great teacher!
Thank you as always for sharing your knowledge with us💕
I Love the Lacing! I'm not sure why people hate it, okay, so maybe I'm just weird but I Love, Love, Love the lacing!
Don't get me wrong I love it too but when it disrupts the design then it gets on my last nerve lol but yea if it happens in the right places then bring it on🤪🤣😘😘
I love them both, but the second one is my personal favorite! Love your work.
Thanks so much for this great teaching video, Tammy. I loved both of your color palettes, and your pieces are beautiful. Hugs. 🎶💞🎶
I’m so HAPPY I found you!! You have taught me so much. Now to try again. My first attempt failed BADLY!! But embellishments work wonders lol
Great video my friend! You are such a wonderful teacher!! Have a lovely day 🥰🦋🤗
Thank you for this video Tammy. I was at a dilemma choosing Floetrol vs Pouring Medium for my Dutch Pour. Your video gave me some confidence to experiment using PM instead of Floetrol. Ensuring I don't waste those precious products 😊
Wow this caned so beautiful….thanks for your teaching sir generously
Thank you for using the measuring cups for the pouring paint so I can understand this better thanks
I am so glad I stumbled on your post! I have been recently struggling and scraping all of my painting bc something wasnt right,..I bought a new bottle of artists loft in the liter bottle!! At least I can try a different white and see what happens!!
Very beautiful pour painting
Wonderful & informative video, thanks for all your hard work!💕
Hi Tammy thank u sharing ! Have great weekend ! ❤️
Love it the colors are great
Thanks for this. It will save on medium as well!😊
Thank you once again, you are so right. I have seen so many artists instruct the mixture they are using to mix paints, they use 50% GAC 800 & 50 % Floetrol, this is a very expensive mixture as a PM for paint. I like your frugal thinking.
Very informative Tammy! And the paintings are lovely! I did not notice the difference with Artist loft white, but I will definitely look at my bottles to see the dates! So glad to see and hear you. I hope life is treating you well! 🌹
Thank you, what an awesome tutorial! God bless you! 🙏😊
Love this option for Liquitex gloss medium. Going to try it instead of flo on my next pour
BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thank you!
Thank you for the wonderful information. It made sense to me. We'll see...
Cheers, Paige C.
Lovely and very informative, thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous colors, Tammy. Great video. xoxoxoxoox
Thank you Tammy for trying a different Ratio for the base coat using the 2020 messed up acrylic pour. Don't give up. I'm also experimenting myself.
Thank you for your time!!
I love your easy to understand instructions and your art is amazing , I don't know when to get started lol
Just beautiful I love it so much
Absolutely love it!!
Absolutely amazing artwork! You are so talented
Tammy you have phenomenal skill love your paintings
