This is Part 3 of my series of the Toronto Fabric stores. It was quite the journey and I learned so much about my city and fabric. Looking forward to doing more. thanks for watching
Thanks so much for this. Since I have family in this part of the city, I now know where to detour on my way in or out of the city.
Wish we had this many fabric places.
You made my day by directing me to this heaven. So much to choose from. Great place in Toronto. 🍁🫶🏻
I am from Scarborough. I moved to Windsor in 2019. Fabric town was my go to. Miss Toronto so much. ❤❤❤
I just started sewing this year and I always go to Fabrictown. They’re so helpful and nice there and have a lot of fabric on sale
Thanks Karen for the great fabric store tour. So many beautiful shops.♥️🇦🇺
Fabricland is my fav place in the world!
I absolutely loved this series. How fun and diverse. Thank you for doing all the fun leg work.
Well done!!
I'm moving to Toronto for the fabric stores. Just kidding, I love my palm trees & beautiful beaches here.
What a wonderful 3 part series, enjoyed every minute. Overall super series. It went in a flash which means great vid. Thanx for road trips, truly enjoyable series. They were right time sized, content was jazzy & geography lesson was informative. Thnx for your hard work, it really shows. Love in Sarasota
Thank you Carol. I really appreciate your kind words
Thanks Karen for all you share with us. You’re very generous ❤️
Thank you Deborah. I appreciate the thx 🤗🤗🤗
Thankyou again Karen for this great fabric stores tour! You do such a great job and make it all look so exciting and inviting. I'm like you, I want to touch all the pretty fabric
Another great video!
Please tell me those Danforth area stores opened up after 1999, after I moved out of Toronto, 🤣 lol. Thanks for sharing and doing all the legwork. 😘
Wow!!!😵 You certainly have a great many places to fabric shop. What a treat to be able to peruse & dream about projects til the cows come home!
We LOVE Fabric Spark!
This is a great series, I hope to one day get to go to Toronto! The city looks great, and the people are so inviting! Thank you, Karen!!
I’ll be visiting starting next week. :) So excited.
I want to thank you thank you thank you for these Toronto fabric store videos, they are so valuable. I live here in Newfoundland and am thinking what city to travel to to fabric shop, thinking in the back of my mind Toronto wouldn't have many...boy am I wrong haha...I may be headed there this summer.
Great information. I have to get to Fabric Spark and The Clothesline. Fabric Town on Markham Rd is the one I go too. It is great for basics. BTW the Milner Fabricland is closing very soon.
The 1 thing I miss about the mainland, Fabric stores, fabric stores & more fabric stores lol. Lived in lakeshore area, so enjoyed going to all of the massive stores & all the little shops, for making clothing I loved the sari shops, you could purchase coordinated textiles to make outfits already put together
Wow! What a lovely tour. I especially enjoyed the African Fabrics. They are hard to find. Thank you❤️🥰🙏🏻
It was such a great store.
Thank you so much for these series. I’m visiting Toronto tomorrow and wonder if you have recommendations on where to stop for linen. 😊
I wish someone would do this in the Detroit area😊
I got so excited telling my daughter about your fabric store series. I'm hoping she gets to go to Toronto soon. It's a bit too cold for me where she is in Winnipeg right now. 🇦🇺💜🇨🇦❤🍁🖐
I would love to see you partner with some quilters/ sewists in other parts and continue this series in other cities. May I suggest Gunnar Deatherage for Louisville KY, and Los Angeles. He's more of a fashion designer but what an amazing personality
Fun outing
The Fabricland on Milner is actually closing down. The Fabrictown on Markham is a good place to get pillow inserts too. Or it was last time I stopped there.
Bummer. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for posting, I thought it was closing as well.
Just wow!!!
Wow there are only a few fabric stores near here
Hello Karen, I cannot help wondering which is your favorite store to shop in or maybe you have several favorites for quilting? I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend, 🥰 Chris Raleigh NC
I could get lost in those stores. They'd have to kick me out at closing time.
fabrictown on danforce has basement too, bur store on Markham road better
i never dreamed you were Canadian.
I’m clearly living in the wrong city. 😞
❤
Wow, you're spoiled for choice. Gorgeous fabrics.
Just curious, was there a reason to skip the sari fabric stores on Gerrard? I guess maybe their style of fabric is not of much interest to Quilters? Love this video series!!
I asked and they made saris but didn’t sell the fabric on its own. They were tailors. Now I didn’t check with every store but after asking several and they said no, I stopped asking
@@JustGetitDoneQuilts thanks! I had no idea. I had bought a preçut length of wool off of one of their sidewalk racks so I made an assumption! I've bookmarked your webpage.
Allo! I was wondering if you know where I could get fabrics ( cotton) for a very very good price. It’s seems that here where I live, fabrics is 10$ and more. I’m sure there is stores or online stores near my place that are cheaper. I hope!! I’m from Lake Doré, Ontario
Not that I know of
What about Scotland?
Ill need an invite :)
Here I im in texas now an they are really lacking in quilt stores. Just aweful.
Had better variety when I was in Colorado. Just moved to Texas in July.
Not all Fabricland stores are worth the visit. Some are owned by people who have a license with Fabricland corporate. I find they are more organized than the corporate stores. There are some I won't visit because I can never find what I'm looking for and they make me anxious just being in them - lots of clutter and dead stock, not very inspiring. In contrast, my local licensed one is a joy to visit and I usually spend more than I intended.
Where do I find the list of stores for Toronto east?
Justgetitdonequilts.com just scroll down the page
We're you able to walk out of each 1 without buying a piece of fabric from each 1?
Yes. I broke down twice. The feathers from MacFab and African wax prints from Ceetek (stores north) but now I know where everything is I will be back
