  • Exploring the latest snapshots, I ran across this Riptide bug that can launch the player over 100 blocks. Here's a quick video explaining the bug, why it's happening, and how you can fix it... or revert it of Mojang fixes it and you want to keep it :D

A nice possible addition to that bug fix could be the ability to set, but only if the new value is bigger than the current (so getting the max of them). That way it will always use the stronger of the two riptide effects between your hands (although this is definitely not necessary by any means).

I just came across your channel and I really like what I see. You explain this all methodically and clearly :) I hope you keep working hard at it all

Fascinating bug. Not sure I ever would've caught this. Also, I found it interesting that even in the "fixed" version, using riptide with two tridents actually causes both of them to display the hand animation... If you do it in survival, does it take durability from both?

Kind of unrelated, but there was a snapshot where boats could go up blocks, i wish more were to add this back, by just alloing this to happen when you change the generic.stepheight of a boat, because as of my knowledge there is no other way to get that feature back and as smoothly as in that snapshot other than Mojang adding it

I don’t know anything about coding, but wouldn’t changing this thing to “set” cause trident to ignore initial velocity or smth?

Hold on. Is the value effect of multishot's charged projectiles "set" or "add"? Because if it's "add" too...

It's add, but also only mainhand? I'd have to try it too be sure, but it seems to me that multishot might not work in the offhand...

Edit: Might aswell check every ranged enchantment like Power and Punch while you're at it xD would do it myself but don't have access to a PC right now

DqwertyC. I love your content but your voice is too low. I had to put my device's volume level at 50, but I generally put it at 20-30 for other videos.

I don't know if it's just me but this video is very quiet, I had to put my volume almost to the maximum to hear correctly

Thanks for the note. I have a new recording setup which seems to be helping with background noise, pops etc., but I'm still figuring out the final leveling and balance with in-game sounds
