I'm from Waterloo, and I love the ION for getting across the city! It's so easy to use and great if you're anywhere near the city center

And it's already done wonders for re-development along the main spine of Kitchener-Waterloo.

I mean, this is one of the more attractive bits, but it is a pretty good-looking system on the whole. :)

What a wonderful video! Beautifully framed and shot. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! It's hard getting coherent coverage of something that only comes every ten minutes, but I'm really pleased with the way the shot in the park turned out.

Best video I've seen of the system yet! Also cool to see the twin trains of Edmonton's Valley Line which are FINALLY testing this spring to open for Canada Day...???

I'm glad you like it! And that's good news about Edmonton - we're also being promised Toronto's Line 5 this year, which was the original 'launch' customer for this model.

Please USA, please do this between all over and especially parts of spread out cities!

Even in Canada it's a lot harder than in Europe, both in allowing the trams to run fast enough to serve a relatively spread-out region (though still one of the densest in the country) while still having stops at reasonable intervals; and in persuading people to give up car lanes.
This particular system was justified more to promote denser development in the core area, than to serve transport needs that already existed. There's a proposal to extend the line further south, but it could easily cost three times as much as Phase 1 without serving as many people.

I hope Mississauga and the rest of the GTA get LRT and creat a massive network

The Hurontario Street line is a good start, though I wish Brampton council hadn't blocked the northern section.

@@davidaarthur Brampton doing Brampton things. A city gets what it deserves and ultimately the people of Brampton (and their council) are too stupid to know what's good for them. Hamilton is a close 2nd... should have had their LRT done by now if it wasn't for their stupid population
