I don't believe Logan ever intended for Shiv to take over, it was just to get her away from Gill his political opposition.
Such a control move. It's like me promising my kids that I'll take them to Disney World if they eat their peas. I have no plans on following through with that. And because I'm not evil I would never do it.

I truly think Shiv wanted to say it out loud so it could become true and force her dad to agree with her in this setting. She was having doubts and she could get him to have to agree in front of all these important people. But she instantly saw his reaction and it immediately dawned on her that she fucked up
He only offered Shiv CEO because she was working with his enemy and wanted to control her (plus it helps for optics that she’s a woman). Also with Marcia, you hit the nail on the head-she’s been his right hand, and now nothing, and Rhea has stepped into that role right in front of her
The change in Shiv from season 1 to season 2, all due to being manipulated by her dad is so sad. She starts the show as an independent person with a separate career and reputation and confidence to challenge her dad. Once he gets her to drop that by dangling Company power at her, she becomes just another pawn like Kendall and Roman. These kids have been so messed up by their parents.
Guys loving these reactions keep them coming……consider doing THE BEAR after this it’s truly another great show

Roman's issue is beyond just him being dominated...it's more to cope with his trauma. taking something that's hurt him snd turn it into something he can find pleasure in.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. All the talk of Shakespeare throughout, it really plays like one of his works. Loved your reaction, gimme more lol!
Shiv’s insecurities made her say it out loud. And I think that she’s not as smart as she thinks she is. She’s intelligent but she doesn’t know when and how to apply it in THIS setting

This ep is the best one in S2 imo. Two families dynamics, Shiv, and the final battle are just cinematic. And y’all got some on-point analysis as always!!!!
Best of the whole show imho.The dynamics and layers are spine-tingling.
I personally think its S2 E9 but this is a strong second for me. Season 2 is the strongest season of this show.
@@zerokozmo We agree on the best season, and I love E9 too, but I just get something new every time I watch Tern Haven. The folksy affectations of the billionaire Pierces would make an intriguing show on its own. Even the servants are not to be ignored. Most people miss the look the maid gave Kendall after she had to clean up after him lol. And Cherry Jones ... love her. She's the only person on the entire show who matched Brian Cox for gravitas. Cox made everyone else seem smaller than him 😂

My favorite episode of season 2! The family showdown conversations are just so good.
I don't think Logan wants to name anyone as a successor but as soon as he does that person has all the power. If he publicly names Shiv and then he and her disagree on a strategy for the company everyone will side with her because she's the future. If Shiv was the official successor when Logan said he wanted to buy PGM and she was against it then the likes of Gerri, Karl and Tom would all have sided with her over him
Watching this show with my wife basically consisted of hearing her laughing and saying "this fucking family" a few times an episode

This supportive Tom narrative is amusing. Not going to spoil anything, but very interesting take. Having watched the entire series, I never saw him as likable, ever. Love the performance and the character, but always saw him as db

Kendall and Naomi… that magnetic 🌶shizz was off the charts. The contradiction between the two families made the whole setting so much better.
The families aren't contradicting. Nan is like Logan, Naomi is Ken, Conor's new friend is Conor like etc. That is the irony.
I loved the Naomi-Ken pairing. Wish one of them wasn't into drugs as it isn't healthy for both to be together and on drugs. (Also, Ken-Stewie is still better).

Season 2 is my favorite and this episode is one of the best! Logan was never going to announce Shiv as his successor. He used her temporarily for gain and to get his enemies off his back.
This episode needed more Tom and Greg.
Re: Logan - Shiv, It is to control her and have her be away from his political enemy. She won't be a candidate as long as Ken is following orders without disobeying.
Re: Marcia, if you remember, the show began with Marcia on verge of getting double voting power on the board and trust fund. That hasn't gone through, Logan has actually forgotten about it, and is now buddy buddy with Rhea.

Naomi is like the Pierce family party girl and Kendall is the Roy family party boy. I think the Pierces really want Shiv because they think a woman CEO won’t make their viewers and supporters be too uncomfortable with an acquisition. ATN is like Fox News. I guess PGM is more like CNN. Not quite MSNBC because that’s too liberal.

naked cats are not hypoallergenic, while they have no fur they are covered in oils which is what ppl are actually allergic to and also they sunburn easily and you have to take extra care of their exposed delicate skin. a cat that doesnt shed is way more hypoallergenic than a naked cat
