@@skysean8354 I’ve installed the mod (Child of Light), and put it in mods. Idk if I did it wrong or anything, but it doesn’t work and keeps saying I need to check the mod log? (I play on Mac btw).
EDIT: I just went scrolling down and found that I installed the wrong version of the mod.
EDIT #2: Nevermind. It still wont work. Keeps saying I need to check the mod log (idk what that is). Please help.

This would be an awesome Alternate Universe, one where the Pale King was much more cruel and forced everyone to worship him, using soul to turn everyone into mindless servants to him. The Radiance was kept alive by a few members of the moth tribe, and a young moth child was chosen for the radiance to take control of and kill the Pale King
Small moth child with her goddess chilling in her brain instead of small bug child with no brain whatsoever

OK this theory is interesting imagine if both worlds combine before the meeting of the pale king/Rediance both the prota would meet each other and dicides to work together and whne they are there the both of them saw the pale king and Rediance fighting each other

While in original game Hollow Knight is helping us defeat Radiance, i like how there Hollow Knight is trying to protect Pale King. Such a good touch.
omg this mod changes so much more than most other skin mods... seriously, it makes the spells change ENTIRELY! that's like its own mod on its own not excluding the ACTUAL skin changes! then modding the radiance to become the pale king, especially the entire arena and summon/start animation! whoever made this should be HELLA proud! this must have been either hell or really fun to make, and the results speak for themselves!
I just realized the soul bar is the fucking infection. holy shit thats such a minor change but makes so much sense oh my god.
The spells thing looks like another mod because it actually is. The skin does change the final boss
I would be quite pissed if a skin mod changed the spells in any way beyond visual.

Alternate Universe lore I thought of that could fit this.
The Radiance, using vast of their remaining power, reincarnated into this tiny form back to reality. Breaking out of The weakened Hollow Knight’s containment. In a similar way The Pale King changed from his wyrm form to his current one. To kill him square on in the same realm.
But it turns out she already won. Her infection plan was so good the poor guy was driven to suicide.
(How did the new true ending happen?)
The Knight, unaware of all this- fights The Hollow Knight without the Void Heart. Hornet helps despite that. Upon dream nailing it’s weakened sibling, it finds the arena strangely empty of the foe it was destined to fight. There is no way out of the realm.
Climbing to the third platform, to look pensively at the horizon, a sudden divine enlightenment fils The Knight. Resonating from within The King’s Brand. Allowing their form to ascend into a powerful imitation of the Pale King. It then takes the place of the landscape’s boss. Merging in the background as a pale sentient pale sun. In a switch of roles, waiting for it’s enemy to come for it.
However, despite being given the strength of the Pale King’s form, it lacks a strong connection with the void. Which proves to be the key in The Radiance’s defeat. And the imitated figure of their creator is still far from reaching the original’s power.
Dooming it to fail the fight against The Radiance even in it’s weakened state.
The Hollow Knight still became it’s ally in the shade form. But the last minute protection it provided was futile.
(Hornet helping The Radiance?????)
Hornet helped the Radiance open up HK’s shell again because she’s actually a reanimated husk.
Hornet tried killing The Radiance in the City of Tears(next to the HK’s statue) but failed, and died losing the fight.
After that, Radiance revisited her corpse, bringing lifeseeds she then ordered to enter her deceased shell.
To really rub salt in The Pale King’s wounds.
The author really have a lore for this skin. Mini Radiance - a light fragment doesn't kill Hornet, in addition made her realized that Radiance's light even much stronger than her dad one and that light will guide whole Hallownest. 😅

It would be very interesting if at the end of the fight, when you see the hollow knights shade hug pale king, you were given an option to give up and redeem yourself. But great mod overall!

I legit gasped when I saw the light unfold into the wyrm, that was so cool. I also love how Hollow was protecting the Pale King, that was really a neat mod.
I like how the infection here could technically be explained as the radience growing in power and attempting to subdue everything, and them attacking you could be them attempting to resist the infection. Makes the Hollow Knight fight more interesting, it is resisting despite the Radiences attempts at taking everything over.

Hollow Knight mods are so damn cool. Not just a reskin, but a total overhaul in order to properly fit with the radiance’s move set to the point where I’d totally wanna use this in game just to change up the gameplay with something so fresh and new

If the pale king was the final boss for the real game then that would be a real plot twist
lore of little radience [my take]: after they have started the infection, after a long while they got to escape at the cost of having to get into a smaller form, they decided to finish what they started by removing it, but they have to face all theyre problems, including people who Hated them. can they redeem themselves and become a better person? or will they be overpowered by what they started, putting everyone into misery?
to simplify it they want to fix what they have done, and they hated what they have turned it into, so after escaping they have to get theyre powers back and fix the problems lingering around the world of hollow nest and so on. i think this is the best lore version of hollow knight because the villian actually gets to have a chance to live and fix what they have done as a punishment of also having to earn all theyre power back and facing the problems they have created as theyre responsibility remains to be fixed by them and them alone.
I feel like the abyss shriek replacement is a bit op and would be better as like, Radiance's eye laser attack or the sword circle, but aside from that this mod looks great.
Adorable mod. Really enjoyed all of the little touches. But damn this feels like it would make the game too easy with Radiance attacks to use instead xD

Instead of radiance taking over it's void, and the final boss is the pale king taken over by void.

A daily reminder that under Radiance rule moth tribe lived a peaceful life with only a handful of volunteer warriors that weren't even their militia while Pale King not only had a heavy militarised state with the army, void-made creatures as his personal guard and elite knight Death Squad but was fine with executing those who stood against him and forcing Maggots to do the all hard work (basically slavery).
Also in White palace you can find a tablet that literally says "Only one light is worthy to prevail. Mine".
People usually mention only throwing children into the Void when it comes to bad things Pale King did, but that worm is full of so many crap that using this exact way to save his -ass- reign wasn't even surprising.
This is the first mod I've seen with actual custom boss sprites. Fucking amazing

I was going to go crazy if the boss was the husk Wyrm in Kindgom's Edge! But having Pale King is also cool.
And alternate time line, were instead of putting a plague on hollownest, radiance decides to simply take care of hollownest themselves

Ok i like how it reskined the Radiance boss to the Pale King. That was a nice touch
the battle against the pale king was epic, but you could probably replace the void at the bottom with the infectious gas seen in the watcher knights' fight
Now we need a skin or mod where it's the Knight but as his shade form
this is definitely one of the best hollow knight skins I've ever seen, it's amazing how they modified other bosses and even the scenarios, that's amazing!

AU: The pale king once ruled hollownest, the radiance brought peace and intelligence to the land of hollownest, void is leaking from the underground causing damage to all of its life, now reborn from soul and the memories of those still alive in hollownest, the radiance is reborn once again, to return hollownest to its former glory.

How does one change the environment sprites? Such as background, platforms, to make a completely different environment? (for example for the final boss the arena is completely different than the actual one) I've seen custom background music but not something else that replaces other sprites.

no but the pale king here in this version had a chance to basically become a god like the radiance in the normal game, he technically was already a god but ig since he basically rebirthed the pale king lost all his powers and that's why he couldn't fight the radiance one on one to kill the radiance for good in the normal game

i can see an update where you change the hollow knight fight to more directly fight the void rather than an infected hollow knight.
I saw a comment talking about the missed opportunity for the PK to throw buzz saws at you
and im about to download the mod so i dont know yet if some of these changes are charms or not like healing i saw was more like using spore shroom.
last thing is the descending dark spell if the spears do damage and if they do perhaps make it more timed with the crash on descending dark so its more coherent and makes using the spell more natural to advanced players

Very creative and well made, but the static sounds of the laser attack is absolute murder on the eardrums. It seems much louder than all the other effect sounds, was that intentional?
how do you install the child of light mod? i tried making a folder for it in the mods folder, but that didn't work. i have not been able to find any information on how to install mods not supported by the installer.
