Looks like this is Illinois. Wonder how the car is fairing at this point in time? Still on the road? If anyone is reading this in 2021 - there are a few of these available in CA, batteries are spent, but with some work can be replaced with Nissan LEAF packs. Not exactly a DIY project, but it's doable. The cars are pretty solid Toyota workmanship too.
I own two of these! Yes you can retro fit with new lithium batteries, but requires a separate b,ms and charger. There is a company in Oregon who can help
hello, I have a chance to get one in 7/22 is it worth it?in terms of keeping it for future generations>? and car shows>? if I get it, would probably drive it about 10 miles per week. has 65k miles and how do you charge it? do you need a special charger for home> thanx
Is an inverter a lot of money to fix on one of these? How about the battery can you get them anymore after chevron bought the rights to it or is there a suitable replacement?
Most of the parts you'll find for these are from other Rav4 EVs, and since so few survive, they can be hard to come by. There are quite a few surplus batteries floating around, though. It's possible to buy one if you talk to the right people. I talked to a Rav4 EV owner at a car show in Canada who bought several batteries back when they were available.
ninelime Inverter is pretty easy to work on. IGBT’s available from Peter Luckham in BC(see his youtube channel). Replacement modules are hard to come by.
you are so lucky
i've had my 96 rav4 for 3 years and found out about these and damn i wish they made more

Would you recommend buying one of these in 2020? What is the replacement battery source?
Curious also! I see the 2nd generation models going for $14k!

It doesn't hurt anything to drive in "B" mode all the time, does it?
no, it’s just jerky as hell
