My idea for what's going on here is that the protagonist has a shitty life, but is a honor student and is repressing their problems and masking them with some sort of narcissism (narcissism in real life is most likely a defense mechanism and/or sign of poor mental health) or somethin related to being a honor student. this is just how I'm seeing it tho

Listening to a few more of your covers and something I've noticed, and really like, is how you still keep parts of the Japanese lyrics. It gives the songs such uniqueness and it just helps it become an earworm, even if by technicality it does mean it's no longer a full english cover... eh, who cares?
Anyway, if I can make a suggestion, if you ever find yourself interested and with time I'd love an English cover of either Daten or Yofukashi no Uta, specially the latter. I feel like you could do something amazing and that I have not seen done with Yofukashi no Uta.

not sure why you toned down the "優等生 生 生YouはStay Stay Stay" because it certainly sounds like you can hit those high notes, especially after you did 1:25
I can speculate a couple of reasons why as a singer myself.
1) It might be because singing a high note for three or five seconds might not be that difficult. However if it's for the length of an entire chorus it might put a strain on the voice of this singer. Sometimes people also have a default pitch they go to when singing songs so that they don't accidentally hurt themselves while singing.
2) This was originally a vocaloid song, vocaloids are capable of hitting weird notes that just don't translate over to a human voice. The original was slightly off tune on purpose and it sounds good because of the mechanical sound but you can't get that with a person it might just sound awkward. I've noticed this when singing vocaloid songs.
