      This whole channel, channel 3 or ITV in the UK bans all comments on their various yt channels. The news banned comments. Jeremy Kyle. This morning etc. They don't want to hear the general public opinion as they know they'd get slaughtered. It's the same with every main stream channel here in the UK. Extreme left wing at every turn. We're doomed.

      I wonder if the S.J.W. community accepts the fact how; in the new hit TV series "Carnival row" all the humans are indeed white & not any other race. It's like saying "how white people see people from a different race like strange creatures from a fantasy book." Think about white supremacy; If someone from China went to India or Africa, felt segregated, then made complaints/opinions about how they felt disrespected or discriminated because he thinks the people who grew up there are better than him due to their race. would this not be supremacy? The most recent country who had slaves, but also abolished the law of slavery was in America. During the 1800s, Just about every country had slaves. There is no such thing as white supremacy anymore. If anything, people who are caucasian are segregated and discriminated against because of their race. Funny how karma comes back around. Unfortunately, This is not karma, but a war. In every country around the world before the 18th century, women had no authority. Now that they do, women are making it very clear to all women they must be brave and have the courage to stand up against men. Everyone is equal no matter race or sex. We are all here to live in harmony, not to start wars. Encouraging is great, but when the "Star wars" franchise went on a spiraling down turn because of this very touchy subject. Enough is enough. Let it all this hate go and be happy with the ones you love or the thousands of people you meet every day. Life is short but mankind will always live on. Be careful with the choices you make, it may affect your health or someone else's.

      @bobby macdiarmid It's not about whether it is geographically English but whether the population expresses an English type of culture/mindset. That was the point of the thought experiment, "What if 50% of inhabitants were Scottish." That could have galvanised a proper discussion, but instead we have outraged ranting. I wonder if the civil English culture Cleese refers to is a sensibility that is being lost due to time and not due to diverse cultural backgrounds of the inhabitants. Some very racially diverse and very much non-English people can still feel like they have that politeness and civility Cleese misses while many white English people really don't have it at all. Seems like it's just a changing society. But that's my view....

    • @Fatpie42
      @Fatpie42 Pƙed 3 lety +25

      @bobby macdiarmid I'd still say that if 50% of the people in a place aren't English and wouldn't ever want to be called English then the place would be less English. But I think we're mostly in agreement. It feels to me like there is way too much fuss over unfortunate turns of phrase rather than focusing on what people clearly actually mean. A key example is when Benedict Cumberbatch's attempt to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by racial minority actors was overshadowed because he said coloured actors rather than actors of colour.

    • @Fatpie42
      @Fatpie42 Pƙed 3 lety +14

      @bobby macdiarmid Like in the current video, people often want to be called British. English is different. British is a label that unites Scots, Welsh, and English together along with (in this case) Russian immigrants. English is more to do with where you're from. British is more about the group identity. (It's a pity that we don't have a term like UKer or something because it feels weird to randomly leave out those living in Northern Ireland, but then again there are Irish people living in Northern Ireland who consider themselves British anyway and that's a whole other controversial sectarian can of worms that I'm not fully informed about so I'll stop there).

There are plenty of French, Italian, German (ahem your Royal Family FKA The House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha), Scottish (also your Royal family), Spanish and other heritages that consider themselves English and it's for the most part fully accepted. Mainly cause you can't even tell the difference even if you wanted to and it would just be really petty and uncouth to even care. I mean you don't consider Prince Phillip not English do you? @markferguson7563 Pƙed 8 měsĂci

      In The Australian, on Oct 18, appears an article by Ben Packham, and Jess Malcolm titled, ‘Labor senator slams killing of Gaza civilians’. It focuses upon Fatima Payman, “a devout Muslim”, who is a Labor Senator from Western Australia. The grave bone of contention she expresses is with Israel’s disproportionate response to the unpredicted, and barbaric intrusion by Hamas militia, on October 7. Without question, Israel has retaliated to this incursion with diabolical vengeance. And Payman is certainly justified with what she’s saying.
      However, if she is so concerned about innocent people being indiscriminately slaughtered then, I do wonder, if she has ever apologised on behalf of her Islamic fundamentalist brothers, for willfully murdering 530 people (along with maiming a total of 2150 others) in the 41 shocking attacks in the Reign of Terror, in Britain and Europe, between 2004-2020? Or, with the 202 people that were wiped out in the Bali Bombings from 2002? And, of course, with the 2977 being liquidated on Sept 11, 2001, in the name of Allah. Collectively, around 3,800 people were callously extinguished in Western nations over two decades by Islamic fundamentalists.
      After doing a check on Payman, I could not find one instance where she has apologised or, sought forgiveness, for these abdominal acts. And, moreover, nor have any of her Islamic ilk ever done so. Therefore, on the one hand, it’s the height of hypocrisy to have this “devout Muslim” castigating Israel for the wanton carnage that it’s irrefutably inflicted upon innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip. But, on the other hand, she/they have never condemned their fellow Muslims for the plethora of extremely malicious acts of terrorism that was inflicted upon thousands of innocent people in the name of Allah in this century.
      Whilst we’re on this dreadful matter of Islamic terrorism, let’s not forget the 270 people who were killed in the attacks in Sri Lanka, on Easter Sunday, 2019, by ISIS assailants. In addition, in just the past week up until October 19, there have been three instances where lone-wolf Islamic terrorists have killed a total of four people, and injured another seven. One of them was a teacher at a school in France. Another two were murdered in Belgium three days ago on October 17 - they were Swedish nationals attending a soccer game. And the other was in Hartlepool in England, on October19.
      Islam professes to be a religion of peace. However, the reality is that it is an innately barbaric, which is embroiled in centuries-long conflicts of retribution. This is indisputably proven by virtue of the two major sects of Islam, Shiite and Sunni, being in perpetual conflict.
      Since 2000, the total number of fatalities to ensue from the divergences with these two branches of Islam is “in excess of 30,000 people, which spans the Middle East, Africa and the Subcontinent”. Two of a plethora of articles to read to garner an insight into this Pan’s Labyrinth are:
      ‘Why they hate each other: Behind the Sunni Shiite divide’ from the Time Magazine, March 5, 2007, and,
      ‘A new era of sectarian violence in Pakistan’, Crisis Group Sept 5, 2022.
      Clearly, Senator Payman, is a total charlatan with condemning Israel for its wanton barbarism. Yet, this venal cretin dares not castigate the gross degrees of brutality inflicted by Islamic fundamentalists, either within the crib of Islam, or upon non-Muslims.
      Payman’s first address to the Senate can be found under:
      Senator Fatima Payman: “We need a humanistic and optimistic approach”.
      It was written by Victor Perton from the Centre for Optimism. It’s a rather small for a maiden speech. The intrinsic essence of this speech is akin to what a guru would have been expressing to his hippy followers back in the late 1960s, preaching the fantasy of eternal harmony if we can all just bury the Seven Deadly sins.
      Alas, what the guru was contending to those hippies back in the 60s, and what Payman was asserting on September 6, 2022, is a con-job. Because of the fact that, she is a devout Muslim, indubitably means that she will always submit to the demands of Allah. This is theocracy and not democracy, and if push came to shove her prime allegiances are never to Australia, but to the Koran and Allah.
      Finally, one other piece to reference is the You Tube from 12 years ago, in the Open to Debate series.
      ‘Islam is a religion of peace’
      Well, with what’s transpired in Israel/Gaza the past 12 days aside, in the 9 years from when this debate was first broadcast in 2011, up until January 8, 2020, a total of 234 people were callously slaughtered in terrorist attacks in Britain and Western Europe, which were inflicted by Islamic fundamentalists: All in the name of Allah.
      Now, between October 10 and 15, there were a total of 31 pro-Palestine, and anti-Jewish protest rallies held in Western cities by the interlopers that Western nations were stupid enough to draw in as immigrants. The vilest chanting occurred in Sydney at the Opera House with the clear majority of attendees calling to “gas the Jews”. Tragically, politicians didn’t have the guts to condemn this dangerous rabble for what they truly are. And that, of course, they are totally unassimilable.

      @iceylittle Pƙed 5 lety

      Actually she's quoting John Cleese in saying that "Britain is not polite anymore". Referring to culture as if natural British culture is about being polite and holding a standard of mannerisms. She is re-quoting this because she believes he's insinuating that black people are not polite thus they are tarnishing British culture. So she says, so "immigrants are not polite?" This is a rhetorical question in which the obvious answer is no. So if he's not talking about immigrants, who is he talking about? Sounds more like a separatists quote.
      Her point in saying that is to prove that he wasn't talking about immigrants, he was talking about a specific group of people. If you took her quote directly, you'd also have to think that John Cleese thinks that immigrants are not polite which would be silly as you are stating. Her quote went over your head and she did let him talk many times. The host was the one cutting him off most of the time. I got his point about immigrants but she made a very important point that better defends her point of view more so than any of the hosts on the show. I get they were trying hard to pander towards her view but she was actually more equipped to defend herself in that argument.

      The person referred to by the OP is an out and out racist bigot. However, that was because I was from a rural town. We still said good day to passing strangers and spoke to whomever was at the bus stop. This didn't work in London. I found people scurrying for cover if you so much as smiled at them. I have to say that, I had not seen many people of other ethnicities where I grew up, but there were representatives from the entire world in London. I did not think that other ethnicities were particularly more or less unfriendly then any other Londoners, so accepted it as a London thing not a an immigrant thing. Most London residents regardless of colour, are not from London anyway, but also regardless of colour you can hear pride in the voices of anyone who was born and bred there. Just like you hear pride of being a Brit in anyone born here regardless of ancestry! So proudly speaks a son of an immigrant!

    I'm from Derbyshire and went into south Yorkshire,about 40 years ago, and was told by a local woman, in a small village, that everything was changing. The reason was that well off people from Sheffield were buying up the houses, pushing up prices to levels above what the young locals could pay. The newcomers had completely changed the character of the area. So why can't this happen to London?.
