Petarda! 😀
This was recorded by the Animals in 1964 - but this version was WRITTEN by three members of Pete Seeger's old group, The Weavers some time in the late 1940s, or early 1950s. It was originally collected by John Lomax Jr. in the 1930s in Appalachia - but this "current" version that we all know and have been singing for 60 yrs - was written by Ronnie Gilbert, Lee Hays and Fred Hellerman. The writers should get the credit - not the singers of one version of the song - and not even their own version.
I'm pretty sure no one knows who originally wrote house of the rising sun. It's an old folk song and I think that kind of makes it special.
@@jungmoney2927 And I'm an old Folksinger. I ws opening for Pat Paulsen and The Irish Rovers in the late '60s. I've just told you the history of the song. It was originally called "Rising Sun Blues" - and was collected by John Lomax Jr. (Look up John & Alan Lomax). The version that we know today - that The Animals recorded - was written by three members of The Weavers - Pete Seeger's old group. THAT version is NOT "an old Folk song." It was written when I was a toddler - in the early 1950s.
@@wandamundy1759 well I'm not an expert but a cursory internet search said there were previous versions in the 1930s and 1920s. Just saying that I'm not sure something so old could be credited to anyone really.
Good!!!
Dobre!
Мелодию этой песни очень люблю ❤ , а скрипка мне здесь не очень нравится. Мне больше гитара нравится.👍👍👍
Please ... music sheet!!
Do you mean music sheet for violin? Unfortunatly I don't have it, most of the song I play by ear and solo is from organ part.
