Finishing The Tamiya Winger | New Years Eve 2023

- In this video I finish the Tamiya Winger. The body set realesed by Tamiya to fit the Boomerang.
I'm using a TBG repro body and MCI Racing repro decals. I also use a Tamiya Avante driver figure as it fits the body better than the standard driver. My friend, Sergio of snapshot_rccars on Instagram gave me the idea for using the Avante Driver. Since I didn't have decals for the Avante driver, I decided to paint the gauges and things on in the cockpit. I think it turned out quite good in the end. Naturally this is my last video for 2023 so I hope you all have a Happy New Year in 2024!

It turned out looking really cool. I like the darker ribs on the back and the wing, breaks it up from being a single color car.. It is cool you were able to piece most of it together with old part and add another complete and cool car to the collection. Happy New Year Mick! Wishing all the best in 2024!!
Thank Addam! I think the darker bits work well too. I've had boxes of Boomerang and Super Sabre bits in the shed since forever with the idea to do a Winger and maybe restore what's left. Thanks mate, glad you like it. Yeah the shading turned out OK I think. It is a nice colour. It kind of shows off body shapes a little better than silver would I think. Yeah the Boomerang is getting on in years now, 38 years old in April to be exact. Easy to see why some parts turn to dust in your hand! 😲.
Yeah the body does look quite good. I like it the more I look at it.

Thanks mate! Me too, I do have another obscure one to come in 2024, the Dash 1 Emperor. A few people have asked about the gold wheels. I actually think they might be too much with the colour it is but I might try them on and see. I may even put it in a video soon, maybe try the gold wheels and some black wheels just so people can see for themselves. Might give them some ideas.

Oh, it came out really nice, Mick! I love that Champagne anodised, and funny enough, it did look really cool under the TBG blue overspray film, which of course had to go anyway... No Slayer joke, but I think I saw somewhere that Kerry King will be starting a new band... I guess he's a bit of a boomerang himself, he's coming back...

Thanks mate! It's all just practice my friend. As they say "practice makes perfect"... Well, it hasn't made me perfect but has helped to some degree 😂. Also a set of head mount magnifiers (about $30), there's no way I could do it without those! The Fire Dragon sounds like a great winter project, enjoy the build mate. Champagne was 100% the way too go. Makes that thing pop, super rad , and 1000% my favorite winger build 👏 Driver and cockpit reminds me of a mixture between night rider and an interstellar space craft. It’s doing a million miles and hour standing still 😂. Fantastic job mate! Happy new year

Sorry I was a bit slow replying but I see you've just Googled it 😂. Yeah, the Winger was only released as a body set to fit the Boomerang, based on the Japanese (CoroCoro) comic series. 🙂👍
