To create one half of the sun (repeat below instructions for other half) Magic ring Round 1: 6 single crochet into ring Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch = 12 sc Round 3: 1 sc, increase, repeat = 18 sc Round 4: 2 x 1 sc, increase, repeat = 24 sc Round 5: 3 x 1 sc, inc, repeat = 30 sc Round 6: 4 x 1 sc, inc, repeat = 36 sc Round 7: 5 x 1 sc, inc, repeat = 42 sc Round 8: 6 x 1 sc, inc, repeat = 48 sc Round 9: 1 sc in each stitch = 48 sc Cut yarn, (slip stitch?), weave in ends. Add eyes, embroider smile to one half. For around the sun: Take second colour, place both sun halves together. Using back loops only, pull second colour through using crochet hook to create a loop. 1) Single crochet second colour into the first stitch. 2) 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet into next stitch. 3) 1 triple crochet, chain 2, 1 triple crochet in the next stitch. 4) 1 dc, 1 hdc in next stitch. 5) 1 single crochet in next stitch. 6) repeat steps 2-5 all around. 7) leave enough room to stuff the sun. Then finish steps 2-5. 8) (Slip stitch?), cut yarn, weave in ends.

If you turn the hook downward when pulling through the loops, it will pull through all of them smoothly instead of hanging up on each loop. đž
