@@lenasmovingcastle so great!! Iâve been living here since march 2022. i started in nakano and live around ikebukuro now. best decision iâve ever made
i wish it was as simple as just packing your bags and going. but youâve gotta put work in. itâs a decision you make months or even years in advance. iâve made that decision and havenât told anyone. iâm preparing to get an online degree and iâm saving money to go a uni in japan. But once you really clear your head and decide to actually go through with it, itâs.. liberating.
Congrats, not only you are beautiful, pleasant to listen too, but your experience is inspiring. Been to wonderful Japan in 2016. Best country in the world. Best of luck to you on all of your endeavors âđœ
What I realise when watching a lot of these Moving to Japan videos, is that I messed up not going to university. I think it gave a lot of people a good advantage (albeit maybe a small one, as you're also a foreigner) as you have the benefit of a degree. Whereas people like myself who went straight into work, don't really have any educational triumphs to bring to the table.
If youâre applying for an English teaching job then they have made it important to hold a University degree. But that doesnât mean it is impossible. If you hold a teaching license thatâs something else and I believe it can be required online nowadays. It depends on your work/skill if youâre going into another field other than English teaching. Iâve never used my degree for my visa itâs irrelevant but I am in the entertainment field.
Iâm 25, but doing this myself. I finally got my MA in TESOL, which I wanted before I got there, and Iâm interviewing with companies now. Feels weird, like Iâm going to leave it all behind, but Iâm so excited to too.
Thank you for your video!! Could you do a video about how to move to Japan and how do you shop, communicate with the locals, any language translation apps you use? Etc. I just trying to get an idea of how to move there, make purchases and pay bills there when Iâm not familiar with the language. Also, could you do a video on how to move to London? Please and thank you in advance! đâšâ€ïž
Not happy with life here at home, dropped out of first term in college and want to move out of country. I want to move to Japan and go to a language school and see if I'll live there after, but I don't know if I'll regret it
Regret is being too scared to give new things / dreams a shot. Even if it doesnât work out the way you want it to, you tried instead of wondering âwhat ifâ. You can always rebuild and move on.

Iâm planning to move to Japan as well, itâs one of my biggest dreams. In around two years I want to study there, even if it is just a semester. Iâm not sure how itâll be going then, but Iâll be there.
Like I don't know what I was thinking, throughout all of secondary school I've just dreamt of going to Japan. I finished school in 2016 and started travelling and quite a bit, however I still put Japan as some place far away. Now with covid and the limiting of travel, I'm like baffled how I never just WENT to Japan as soon as I finished school. I'm still young I guess, just turned 24 but I need to make it my mission to go there next!
As soon as you can, just book it! Don't think about the distance of travel. I really miss visiting new places too, I had the same thoughts like I want to visit Australia and New Zealand, but always considered them too far places - but i'm so close to them now! (but also covid... sigh)
just finished college this month and i really want to go to japan, i know conversational japanese as well but its just so hard because japan is really expensive and i literally have no money and no way of earning part time jobs is no option because they basically don't exist here and even if they do they aren't safe for girls i really want to go there and i have no idea what to do anymore... :(

I think it depends how you see it. If your dream is to truly come and experience living in Japan, whatever uncomfortable situations come your way, you'll find a way to get around it. And if after then, it is too bureaucratic for you, then at least you know that you gave it a shot instead of being in the 'what if' zone. That's just how I think! ^__^
@@lauraribeiroTV Well I think you can live within your world inside Japan and in that point I think you're right but I know people that had a lot of problems to find a foreigner-friendly place to live. I turned off from Japan when I realized I couldnt accomplish the goal of living in Japan. I think I will need to experience Tokyo for myself after the pandemic situation and spend a month there. I love Japan since a very young age I think it completes my values and who I am very well. I am not even an anime person ahaha

how much iâve been wishing to move to japan. but still, to work in japan, one need to know how to speak japanese. ig iâll move to japan when iâm done with my college, alone. hahâŠ
Not necessarily true. There are jobs that don't require you to be fluent in Japanese, or some don't require you to speak it at all. (English teacher, IT...) But since you want to live there, it wouldn't be wrong to know the language right. At least the basics. And the fluency can be much easier acquired when you live there. And yes it is scary to move to a foreign country by yourself, but don't let it stop you. You got this.
I really want to life in japan as a male Model, i just turned 20 and i unfortunately dont have a fashion BG like u do. Would u say that it is easy to find a modeling job as a foreigner?
I am planning to move to Japan, but I don't have University degree. Would I be able to get any job at all there? I don't really have a chance to go to University.
I wouldnât be able to say, but for modeling itâs not needed. I think for English teaching the uni degree shows youâre fluent in English. But itâs not always the case you could find jobs. Give it a try and if your country does working holiday visa itâs a good way to figure it out ! All the best
Are you still in Japan? Do you still recommend it? I'm 21 looking to move to Japan soon! I wanna just drop everything and leave as well I've been dying to leave already.
After 8 years Iâve left japan and back in the Uk. I think having the experience of living in another country is good to see how other cultures live like. I recommend giving it a try :)
The younger you change culture, the better. Youth is worshipped pretty much everywhere, and the older you get, the less people want you anywhere, even where you already are.
I had done a beginners course but when I arrived and in my work environment no one talks like the text books so I had to relearn everything and it was easier since I was living in the country and required to learn at least basics to get by
I want to move to Japan one day an get away from everything, I donât have a college degree an canât speak the language so itâll probably never happen though
If you want to get away from everything, it is not a good idea. Don't think your problems will be solved by going to a different country. However, no, it is not impossible to live and work in Japan without a degree. It just makes it harder. What I have heard however and doesn't necessarily require you to speak fluent Japanese would be an IT job. And besides that, having a bachelors degree at least makes it a bit easier too. And if you really want to move to Japan, don't you think you should try to learn at least a bit Japanese?
