The very first item I ever crocheted was a wrap cardigan using 2 strands of yarn. I then made 2 sweater vests. And then nothing for about 45 years. I started crocheting again at the start of the pandemic, but I've yet to make a wearable. I think this cocoon cardigan will break the draught. 😊
❤️❤️❤️
I did almost the same thing. I made cardigans, pullovers, hats, and scarfs for my kids every year when they were little. Then, I stopped for 39 years and picked it back up just this year. This will make a great project for a gift for my daughter-in-law for Christmas.
This is beautiful, and I love your yard. There is so much room for your animals to run free! Your a beautiful human being Crystal I love your tutorials 💖 💗
crochet sleeve ribbing
This is perfect! I prefer "sweaters" to jackets until it's freezing cold here in Indiana. I can make quite a few in many colors. Thank you Crystal 😊
Thanks ❤️
Hey neighbor. I'm in Plainfield, Indiana 😁😁😁
@@maryshockley1904 howdy 👍
Crystal, because of you, I was actually able to make this cocoon cardigan. I am so excited that it came out perfect. I had no mistakes😊 Thank you for this great tutorial. ❤
Thank you for being our cheerleader! So often, I doubt my ability then I follow one of your tutorials 💜
Crystal is a great cheerleader for us and a wonderful teacher. So easy to follow and understand.
❤
Living in LaLa land myself, I say this is perfect for a sunset at the beach in the fall!
That yarn is very pretty and has great stitch definition, you are right it looks easy but time consuming with the ribbing.
Yes I am struggling
I absolutely love how you explain and show things so clearly ❤❤❤
I realized that I have loved Crochet before I was a teen. Now 65. You make it so much fun. Thanks and God bless you.
Thank you! You too!
Hi Chrystal,
I have always wanted to crochet the cocoon cardigan but always found it a little intimidating. I just saw your tutorial, and I know that by following it, I will be able to do it. Thank you, Chrystal, for the way you explained it. It's so easy to follow!
You are so welcome!
Wow, I finished the body of the shrug worked up quickly but I chickened out on the ribbing. I finished off with a double crochet half double crochet border. I chose to make body from a wine 4 weight and brown border. I wish it had more flow but it is OK. My first wearable. Thanks for the easy tutorial. Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect.
Thank you so much for this video. You are a wonderful teacher, and I've already started the sweater. It's a little tricky starting it, but once you get going, it's very easy. Beautiful sweater. I'm 75 years old and crocheted most of my life, and this is so fun to do.
Can’t wait to make this! I’m finding so many wonderful fall projects that I think I’m gonna have to quit my day job to crochet lol! Crystal I love your videos and your method of teaching. You’re proof that you can teach an old dog new things! Love you lady and keep up the great job!
Thank you 😊
You just made my day. I wanted a comfy cardigan that was easy to make. I actually started making 2 different ones yesterday and didn't like either pattern. If I don't enjoy making it, it's not worth it. Later in the afternoon I saw this and have already started it. Thank you so very much. It's perfect!!!
Thank you 😊
I started crochet about a month ago and came across this video. I finished my cocoon cardigan yesterday and I love it ! Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
I just got my yarn today and will start tomorrow. Also bought the pattern because I love your patterns and like to have them on hand for backup. Lovely thanks. My senior center stitch group are all about cocoons right now. We make things for charity .
I made a bunch of these the Christmas before the pandemic. Needless to say everyone used and wore them out the following two years. Lot of fun to make and the only difference in mine was a tighter wrist band area.
I don’t think I can but since u said it , I think I will try and I think I can
You definitely can! 😊
Oh my- you have come up with so many good projects it’s hard to decide which to do first!
thank you!
Awesome!! I absolutely LOVE this!!! I’m going to use pattern to delete some of my yarn stash. I can think of a couple of people who are worthy of receiving this for their Christmas gift!!! Make sure you like this video!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful sweater. Another to add to my list, definitely in green. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you so much!
Thank you Crystal. I started making my sister a cardigan (not your pattern), but you came out with this beauty and my sis says she want this one instead.

What a magnificent Cacoon Cardigan. I found my daughter-in-law's Christmas gift. Thank you Crystal. ❤
I love how you can make us/me feel like I can do anything. Thank you for that. I'm not feeling good so you will be glad that the comments will be few.
Oh no! I'll keep you in my thoughts ❤️
Thank you. I stopped crocheting and started back and needed to learn how to make sweaters. This looks so so simple. It’s what I needed. I feel empowered
I made a blanket with this “blanket stitch” in gold and it is beautiful. It almost feels like a weighted blanket. I really enjoy it so I think this stitch will make a wonderful sweater.
What a great pairing of stitch and yarn colour. It's will be so warm and snuggly - perfect for when the snows arrive. George seemed to really like it, too!
Thank you! 😊
You've been busy! Great tutorial 👌.
Thank you 😊
Working on this now. Using Premier anti-pilling in the color Gold Heather. It is about the same color as yours. I think it's going to be beautiful! Will post a picture on the FB page when completed.
I am finishing up the 3D Shawl and was excited to try something "wearable". This will be perfect for my daughter and one of granddaughters. The granddaughter is studying for her CNA to begin working in Nursing/Rehab Facility. This will be perfect to wear to and from her 2nd shift. Thanks so much!!
Oh, I can’t wait to make this! I always have trouble with ribbing stitches but your tutorial shows easily how to connect with those 2 slip stitches!! Yay!! I now know I can do this.!! Thank you soooo much for your patience with instructions!!! Have a great weekend!
Blanket stitch is perfect for this style - thick to keep out the cold!
This sweater looks so natural on you!
Thank you 😊
I love Cocoon Cardigans! I prefer them over sweatshirts, hoodies, and flannel; it is just so cozy!
I definitely have to make me a couple! My sister's will probably ask for one each, after they see mine. 😂
I've never made a cardigan before and this pattern is so easy to follow along with. Thanks for the wonderful tutorial.

You make everything look so easy. Thanks for all of your tutorials. Ive only been crocheting for about a year now. I’ve learned so much from you not only about crocheting but also about yarn. Thanks for all of your charity work too!
I want to make this! ❤️🧶
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm going to try this for the first time. I know I can do this wish me luck 😊
I just started this! It's my first time making a cardigan. I've made a couple of your ponchos, but want to work up to sweaters and tops. Thank you!😊❤
I absolutely love this color. Thanks for another amazing tutorial 🙂

This is beautiful! I’m going to make one for my daughter for her birthday. She loves to wear shrugs and open sweaters to work. Thanks Crystal, your instructions make this so easy to follow! ❤️🇨🇦
I've been wanting to make one of these for a very long time! Okay, now is the time! Not one just for me but for my daughter too! Maybe one to match for her little daughter to match!
I am definitely making this, not sure when, yes❤
I making myself one right now. Im just doing hdc in the backloop. Using I love this yarn in Autumn Stripe wich is variegated with dark oranges, olive, deep reds. Turning out nice.
Thank you so much Crystal. I absolutely 💯 love this. I think even I can do this 😂. Now trying to decide what color. I’m only 5 ft so shouldn’t be to bad. Still working on the waffle stitch blanket 🧶🤦🏻♀️. My daughter n I share an apt, she has an Australian Shepherd about 18 mos old who LOVES to eat my yarn! Still trying to untangle part of another ball of yarn so my crocheting is slow cuz he goes after it even if it’s in the yarn bag I keep it in. ❤❤gayle
This is an inspiration for me! I trust BOD videos and patterns. It is crystal clear how to do this and I feel I CAN and WILL do this!!
I have never made a "wearable" ( cowls and beanies aside). Always thought I wouldn't be able to. But this tutorial Crystal, I KNOW I can now and this style is right up my alley! You are simply THE BEST and Thank you ever so much! (PS-❤ this stitch!!!)

I have wanted one if these sweaters for so long. I am grateful you made this tutorial thank you so much.
Looks like a great style to use for almost any interesting stitch pattern you want.
I confess, as a plus size, I have been very leery of these types of cardigans because of how it cups The rear end. But this one is awesome! Thanks for all of your tutorials!
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful, richly textured. 2 projects to finish, then _this one for sure_ !
I really appreciate that you model the cardigans and from all angles. Thank you.

Hey Crystal, can’t wait to make this for a friend. This is a very lovely creation you made 😍
Thanks so much 😊
This is definitely my next project! My sister will love it❤
Love your tutorial 😊
Oh, Crystal, I really like this, I just bought yarn to try and make a sweater from one of your patterns. I think I just might try this one!!! Thank you!!!
Finish it! There is a lighter orange. I can't think of a specific yarn name but like sherbert. .Check out the baby yarn to see what I'm talking about. The yellows look good together. Frog the green and use sage. That's just this person's opinion.
I love that stitch! It's such a simple repeat to get a good texture. I made and labeled a swatch.
Perfect...simply perfect
Thanks a lot 😊
Crystal you are such a good teacher. Your projects and tutorials are so amazing and easy to follow. Thank you so much for your time and tutorials! Love them all!
