- Hey! This video discusses my thoughts as well as analysis on Firefly Sam and Jade. I also talk about Ruan Mei and Argenti, the reruns of Honkai: Star Rail 2.3. They all fulfill different roles and some may be more flexible than others, so I discuss who to pull for. Firefly is another Break DPS like Boothill is, and looks insane, but Ruan Mei rerun alongside her is a bit scary. Jade and Argenti are Pure Fiction based, and Jade looks to enable some awesome new combos! All their gameplay has been mostly revealed through the 2.3 livestream, and it looks amazing, I love Firefly's gameplay and Jade's looks very interesting too! Let me know who you plan to pull!

@@guobacertified The Wind-Soaring Valorous? how it went from being an actual good set for selee/argenti to being useless on every character currently in the game except maybe yangking.
They should have just made it ‘when a character expends energy on an ultimate’
they have the BP LC that’s about keeping energy… they could have just reversed it to consumes and the problem is solved… likely a set for 2.4 onwards since no oneuses it but with how many FuA characters there are I don’t see the point making another FuA team immediately after Ratio ended with his premium team just last half…

Thanks for emphasizing the importance of testing new dps twice, since the MoC buffs are always designed to show the banner characters in their ideal set up. I have a sneaking suspicion the next MoC will have a fire weak side and the buff will be related to breaking enemy toughness, lol.
Yeah its always designed to promote the new DPS, so I always like seeing how they end up a patch or 2 later ^^
Not spoiler but kinda spoiler, every MoC buff will prioritize the currently 5* Limited in mind, Firefly is a Heavy Breaker so next MoC will not only have enemies who need to be weakness broken to receive more dmg but there will be a gimick where you gain more break doing a certain action.
But what about Jade? well she's more PF oriented so yeah
@@Vindenci I could see Jade's MoC period either benefitting AoE units or maybe giving a buff after taking damage a certain number of times since that's what her skill does.
But whats funny is that they dont even need to add fire weak enemies since Firefly can implant the fire weakness anytime lol
@@Borovski213 True, but this way to character select screen will have Fire as a recommended element for people so they think about using her, lol. It seems like it'll let her ramp up and break a little faster too, since her weakness implant is during her ult state (i think).
Amazing that Hoyo put all the Super Break Team parts into the same phase :D I can use my 65 pity guaranteed on RM e0 and everything else for the Queen of Break (Firefly)

4:33 Thank you for acknowledging this perspective instead of being like others by pushing the meta agenda to everyone lol. I've 36 cleared MoC without her easily and that alone justifies why I don't need her, despite having my favorite main team (DoT), having her as a "premium" option. I do have her on my alt though and on guaranteed, so I might get E1, but I'll still see about it. My 2nd account usually focuses on the characters I don't have or dislike, so it's a win for me.
For those who doesn't like a specific character despite them being revolutionary (Ruan Mei, Acheron, Aventurine, etc...), you do not have to get them. I can assure you that HSR contents are easily doable with other options, and so you do you. Play however you want to.
I'm similar in that I love DoT teams and just pulled Boothill + lc, but I really dislike RM as a character, which makes the fact that so much of the optimal/meta teams are built around her a pain in the behind. Still working on full clearing MoC/PF, but I plan to take a break from pulling characters during 2.4 and actually put more work into the characters I do have. Man is it hard to get team suggestions when everyone and their grandmother is using RM though lmao

It's amazing what they can do because they mostly create and compose their own songs, not to mention that Han is also a Main Rapper while also being a Lead Vocalist. And as for Seungmin, well he's the Main Vocalist of the group that's primarily why he sounds so good~
If you have a few minutes to spare, I would recommend for you to listen to "I Got It" and "Alien," both by Han. Absolute masterpieces composed by himself which shows his range as a rapper and a singer... As for Seungmin, perhaps listening to "Gone Away" by Seungmin, Han, and I.N (another member) will be a good one. I'd also recommend Han and Seungmin's cover of "Zombie" by Day6 but at this point I've talked too much about them already hahaha ;) ♡

Amazing guide as always, but I have to say that my Argenti is used even in MOC and does very well. The only struggle is really getting his full ult up without several targets to abuse but his damage output feels super satisfying.

I whiffed on Robin and been saving my guarantee(s) for Jade, but also was planning on picking up Ruan Mei on her inevitable rerun. The fact that they have put RM BEFORE Jade has really thrown a wrench into my plans.

The amazing thing is that you may not even have to pull for Firefly as the pulling for Ruan Mei could give you your full break team in the process with how break oriented the 4*s are (plus HMC)
Yeah any break DPS will work :D but firefly looks to be perfectly designed for it ^^
True. After playing HMC Gallagher RM and Xueyi, killing the elite was fast but the adds took too long as boss tend to summon non quantum weak enemies
@@HSRFirefly Agreed. As good as E6 Xueyi is (and she's extremely good), her greatest limitation is she needs to either quickly cycle her breaking Ult, and/or have teammates provide break damage as well in order to hyper trigger her breaking FUA. By comparison, both Firefly and Boothill have more universal break usage because of thier weakness applications.

Right now im trying to focus on building a more dot related team, for now not interested in neither break characters or follow up characters, and even tho jiao qiu is nihility he will probably be a debuffer like pela and not an actual dot like kafka or black swan.
My question is, should I get ruan mei for my dot team,even tho i just got fu xuan with her lightcone and also have bronya?

Really looking forward to that Firefly guide, it would be really helpful if you mention the effect Ruan Mei has in her guide as im not sure if it's better to go all in in FF eidolons or Mei's and then also the matter with their light cone options too.. either way I even laughed when I saw how stacked that first part banner was, we Break gaming for real 😂
I think one underrated combo with Jade is running Luocha. Alongside speed buff and multiplication, as well as an AOE ult that he will constantly get access to due to high energy gain and speed, he can stack Jade's own FUA very fast and also role compression being a sustain unit

5:00 i love the line. I've been on the fence on whether i should pull for firefly's lc first before ruan mei and truly ruan mei will surely be better than the extra stats from firefly's lc. Hopefully I'll get all three of them maybe.
Ruan Mei is a better DPS boost to superbreak teams overall than a E0 Firefly, absolutely pull her first before anything else. The LC isn't even all that good, Aeon got nerfed for her in the beta but it's still more than a worthwhile substitute.
I'm so fucking glad I caved and pulled for Mei before. I'm now going for E1S1 FF, then saving it all for Jiaoqui
E2S0 Firefly will be better instead of going E1S1. E2 gives you an extra action after breaking enemy every other turn which is way better than what lightcone offers. Break effect as a stat has diminishing returns whereas more actions can double your dps potentially.
@kennethyoung7457 S1 is better than E1 since E1 is QOL (if you run her best team, the SP management will be great) and a stepping stone for E2. I dont have enough wishes for E2, so I'll simply get E1S1 this patch and get her E2 later.
@@emmasmith9785 S1 is only 20 pulls cheaper than an eidolon for guaranteed pity. Unless you know you are going to win 75/25 on lightcone banner for sure it is still better to go for E2 instead.
@@kennethyoung7457 20 pulls is better than nothing. And a 75% chance is 15% higher and a lot more guaranteed than a 50/50.
@@kennethyoung7457 Thing is E2 isn't particularly great either since the whole point of superbreak is you break once and then the enemy dies before they ever reach their next turn and regain their toughness. It's only useful in the niche case the enemy consistently summons adds on every turn (aka on the same turn it regains its toughness) that can be quickly broken in one attack. In that specific scenario it's great, but Break's playstyle means that'll rarely happen. It's honestly better to just get Mei's Eidolons so you can get more def ignore.

Dont like the Firefly, but she is destruction, and destruction tends to be good.

Definitely going for my dear Firefly and if she comes home early I may pull for Ruan Mei as well but I think imma wait until we have more news on the 2.4 characters and speculations on reruns because if I lose out on Kafka rerun, I will cry lol.

I got Topaz and then an E1 Clara in the same 10 pull during the last event warp! haven’t been this lucky since I rolled 2 Huohuos back to back in December, probably gonna go for a guaranteed Ruan Mei since I missed her first run and then risk it all on Firefly👌

also, if HMC is using Watchmaker set, should i use full Thief on Ruan? or 2pc of Thief and Speed set?

E1 is more valuable
E1 is more valuable because defence ignore is crazy (and it’s almost permanent since her ult field has low downtime). Also ruan mei has other lightcone options outside of her signature
28 pulls in and guarantee tell me I'm getting Firefly, not just that I like her design and like me some burning henshin mecha lady, she implements her own element as weakness which is a big appeal for me. I also have more components for her team so that front is also less stressful.
But mostly I love me some blazing henshin lady.

In terms of value, E0 Ruan Mei is more valuable than her sig because Aeon S5 is unironically Firefly's best F2P LC due to her atk% -> break effect. Also not having Ruan Mei or HMC (needs both) hampers Firefly's performance a lot.
Pull plan for optimization is like
-E0 Ruan Mei and Firefly
-then E1 Ruan Mei
-then E1 and E2 Firefly
-then you can consider her sig or ruan mei's sig.
I dont have ruan mei, but i have, SO many harmony characters that i am in need of another dps that isn't ratio, my plan is to have acheron and firefly for most content. I also will try to get ff light cone because i just really like the character.

My current plans involve either luck or my wallet seeing the other side because i didn't get either sparkle or ruan Mei when they first came out, I know im rolling for Jade and Firefly, And i Want to get a 5 star abundance light cone and on top of that i want a certain nihility unit coming out in the future (ive built about half pitty for the light cone and currently am only going for S1 ruan mei light cone E0 everyone but argenti) on everything because a nihility healer should give me more options with having a built kafka, black swan and Acheron (havent built any other nihility units yet)

I'm pulling for Firefly and I don't have enough as a f2p for Ruan Mei. Are there other units that I can put in a Firefly team that can take her spot? My harmony mc just got built and I'm just grinding for his eidolons. And I'm in the middle of building my Gallagher too.
The Firefly team is pretty unflexible. You can still run her without Ruan Mei, but you're losing around 40% dmg by taking anyone else. Firefly team at the moment is just 3 characters.
I hope u can make a small segment for new players on who'll provide a better value for their accounts

Should i go for firefly if i don't have ruan mei, but i do have a boothill? I was thiniing of having them dual dps but ruan mei sounds like a universal buffer so i'm not sure who to pull for there.
If you don't have Ruan Mei yet I'd go for her. Firefly can't really do her thing with Ruan Mei anyhow, plus Ruan Mei buffs literally any team extremely well, so she has a lot more usage for your average gameplay.
Guys please help me, I stopped playing on 1.6 and now got back, haven't done any events and story, am I able to farm jades for both Firefly and Ruan Mei by catching up?
My priority in this update is definitely firefly, next will be light cone of ruan mei and jade/her light cone 👌
I’ll probably pull for Ruan Mei. I skipped her the first time, thinking that it was better to focus on getting a dps in Dan Heng IL, but it seems like every team I see has her, so she is more OP than I thought, especially after the addition of superbreak. I’ll have to wait for a Firefly rerun sadly.
Question: Would it be worth to get a second copy of Ruan Mei's LC for HTB?
I am struggling a bit with the lightcones for HTB cause I have only an S1 Memories and getting the break substats is a pain for me
Wondering the same thing since I also has her LC. But for now I choose "not pulling" because my RM already met 180% BE without it and can put the LC on Harmblazer.
But RM lc doesn't stack 😂it will be a total waste
I mean I'd just live with S1 memories. It's not the end of the world. I'd rather a new character or LC over harmony MC with slightly better stats.

I have both sparkle and robin, so I don't really know if I should get ruan mei. I want both Argenti and Firefly, but I'm broke so I don't really think I should do that and I have 3 main dps. Should I just save for 2.4 for my acheron or should I save for argenti for pure fiction?
If you got Robin and sparkle ruan mei is not needed. if you struggle in pf i would recommend jade but argenti also solid option. until 2.4 second half you have a lot of time to save so i think you should at least try get someone next patch

HoYo knew what they were doing. A fan favourite character whos in dire need for a Weakness Break buffer is brough along with very op weakness break buffer's rerun, and ontop we get a free harmony trailblazer eidolon. And of course, Gallagher and Xueyi is one of the 4-stars in her banner too

Interested in Jade for Blade. Gives a lot of stuff he wants and probably good for a dual-dps if the enemy doesnt have Ice weakness to replace Jingliu.
I would like to get some advice, I'm fairly new to the game I just started in 2.1 and I'm TR 62. So far the game has been very generous for me with the 5-stars and I have managed to get Aventurine, Himeko, Tiopaz, Robin and Boothill + the free Dr. Ratio. I also have 220+ pulls on standard banner already so I'll get Bronya from it. The point is, with those characters I'm having preety good time in moc at least on the lower ranks as I don't have fully ascended LCs, not all talents and preety trash relics, but still I have two solid teams (Ratio, Topaz, Robin and Aventurine for one half and Pela, Tingyun/Hatblazer, Gallagher and Boothill). PF on the other hand I'm strugling a lot I barely managed to clear second stage and and I haven't got any stars just clears. In this scenario would you recommend to try to get Ruan Mei still or would it be better to save for entire first half to try to get both Argenti and Jade? I love Argenti's design since his quest and I'm thinking having a second solid PF team might be better for long term content (Himeko, Herta, Robin and Aventurine do decent and get majority of the scores, but it just drops down as soon as Ratio and Topaz take over)
If I already have Ruan Mei and I plan to go for Firefly, should I get her e1 or Firefly LC?
I am still confused on who to wish for,i already have MOC teams and i also love PF so it would make sense to get argenti but i also wanna run him with jade and for that dual dps setup to work i want ruan mei,so i need all 3 and idk which piece to get first,i feel like its safer to first get ruan mei on the first phase,but on the second phase i don't know what to do
Pulling for both, but glad Gallagher is on Firefly banner, I only managed to get 1 copy of him on his debut banner (and 1 copy from event), even though I got the E2 of the banner char lol. I also really like Erudition characters, even when they were "bad", so I'm going for Jade as well (her banner is a bit ...meh though).

I'm going for Ruan Mei LC and Eidolons, she's my absolute fave support along with Robin, so giving her the love she deserves. I'll go for Jade after, since I need some better PF characters!
