What a difficult song to sing! And what an amazing vocal performance by Allie! So incredibly empathic, effortlessly switching between the belted vocal parts and the soft parts of the song. So good! Magical! That's Allie at her best and shows, why we fans love her performances so much! 🤩❤
You are right, of course! An absolute sonic gem that I would love to have as an audiophile recording. Her voice is so outstanding that it deserves to be recorded audiophile.

For me, one of the most beautiful songs ever written, a terrific cover in typical Allie style: tonally secure, enchanting, at the highest level, rich in tonal colour, with beautiful sound character, authentic, expressive, without compression effects, relaxed, fascinatingly graceful, sensual, with magic, with character, with flair, with authority and with joy of playing.
But what makes her vocal artistry so special and outstanding is that it is imbued with passion and deep emotion.
Beyond that, Allie is a true performer. Both the music and the lyrics as well as her virtuoso guitar playing come from within her and are a musical manifestation of herself.
The song, which Allie performs here in absolutely stunning fashion, tells the story of a protagonist dealing with various issues, including dealing with the pressures of society, coping with a traumatic event and coming to terms with death.
The track juxtaposes different styles of music - from opera to rock - to highlight the complex challenges of life and the resulting emotional turmoil.
The protagonist asks himself, "Is this real life? Is this just fantasy?" He questions his existence, especially after a tragic event ("Mama, I just killed a man"). In a way, the refrain "Nothing really matters" means that he has come to terms with the fact that he cannot control life's challenges. The song calls for freedom from judgement and criticism, and the protagonist finally musters the courage to try to "get out of here".
