    My Korean friends introduced me to these “gel crayons” like a decade ago but they were neon colored and marketed as smudge-free highlighters, I never thought to use them as art supplies

      I got them as window markers with more than 5 colors. They are smooth. I use them with water too.

      I got a gel highlighter in college and…so much fun! Haha. That was higher quality than the crayons I have though, Sharpie makes a great gel highlighter!

    Here in Brazil, people like to buy gel crayons for their children to draw on glass. Like, windows or shower boxes, you know? They say it's fun and easy to clean afterward.

    It's so creamy, the layering reminds me of washi tape, an interesting piece could be a bubble piece maybe streams of different soda flavors controlled by a soda witch 0_0 just looking at new supplies gets my creativity flowin

      Neocolor II are water soluble the neocolor I are more like regular wax type crayons, but yeah sooooooo pricey! Crack open that wallet!

    These look really cool. Your big poster looks really smooth and it pops almost like it's digital art that was printed rather than coloured. I think it would be cool it's just like a poster.

    I don't know why I enjoyed the swatches so much. Those colours just pop so much! I also love that they don't leave that typical rough crayon texture.

    These crayons sound a lot like the Art Crayons from Marabu. They behave the same but are marketed towards artists. I've used them and they are really buttery smooth. They are supposed to be water soluble, but not by much. They also have a blender crayon for smooth transitions.

    Hi Kasey ! I was thinking, over the years of youtube videos, you probably accumulated a ton of different art tools. As I struggle so much with art supplies storage, I always wonder how does Kasey Golden even does ? She must need a second house to store all of these ! My point is : i'd love to see a workspace tour, or a video on storage !

    What I've done with gel crayons before is get an image colour the whole back of it and place that on a blank page so that when the image was traced with a pen the colours from the gel crayons would transfer to a blank page

    Had a set of 12 of these when they were still called slick stix. They're so creamy smooth to draw with and if I hadn't lost them I think I would still be using them for art now

    As a child I had something quite similar to these colours. I loved drawing with them. Sadly I don't know what they called and if they are still produced to this days. They got glittery and shiny colours as well. Nice memories.

    crayola has gel scented ones as well. I love them. I use them with my coloring books take a little off the crayon with my wet brush, and put it on the paper.

    We actually got 3 of those type of gel crayons in a Scrawlrbox a few months ago. I really struggled to use them and found they were awkward to work with. They'd lift a little with water (these ones were definitely sold as water soluable) but the marks where you drew on the page with still show through very obviously. I really wanted to like them!

    These are also called bible pens, you can get them as highlighters too. You can also get specifically water collar art crayons that feel just like these. I use them for mixed media water color work, I first got them hoping they actually wouldn’t be water soluble and would be waxy for the resistance

    There's at least one other company that did these and I think there's others. I also think Faber Castle's Gelatos are an attempt at a fancy version of the same thing if you're interested but haven't tried those myself. I forgot what the ones I tried were.

    I first bought gel crayons approximately 15 years ago. My daughter loved them. She has sensory issues and struggled with the scratch of pencils, textas and even other types of crayons as they move across paper. Personally, I liked using them myself, just for the colour payload and blendability.

    Watching videos about products I have to promote where I work (I work at crayola experience) is funny to me lol. Our slick sticks are pretty fun to use though, though I really just love any coloring tool that has a deep rich red color lol.

    I have some of these, but when I got them they were marketed as window crayons. Like draw on windows with, but let me tell you...they're hard to get off when you leave them...well...when you leave them to bake on in the sun. LOL but imma have to try them on paper!

    These used to be called slicks by crayola, I don't know if they still make those specifically but they have a few different lines of the same type of gel crayon that's very nice and easy to clean off hands and walls and windows

    I'd love to see a video where you use the fanciest of all crayons: Neocolor 1 by caran d'ache!
    Or Neocolor 2 if you prefer water-soluble ones.

    Not a big crayon fan but im in love with oil pastel and this is like their love child but more vibrant and smoother. Imagine having white gel crayon for blending them to create the oil pastel arts. But they seemed to be very transparent but really vibrant.

    It’s interesting how I had so many crayons products growing up from these, puff paint pens, connectable markers that you can build things out of, oil pastels, neons, scented ones, paints. The ones that didn’t last long they are currently bringing them back and marking them as new, even tho they’ve been on the markets before.

    When I was a kid I thought crayons would eventually develop to color as solidly as oil pastels. It only took like 20 years for that to happen.
