Yes I commend you. People don't know this, but HR is not employee support like a Union. They're always going to back the company. Also, if a job lets you go, they don't give you a two week notice. The older I get the more I realize that these jobs employers corporations are not loyal to anyone I'd rather build and work my own business than make somebody else rich. But you got to have a plan and some of you need to learn to stand up for yourself and reclaim your peace jobs are so toxic nowadays go to work get your money and go home! In some cases yeah it can be a double win but it also depends on how long you work there and you have to be fired through no fault of your own my mom used to work at employment office so I know all about those situations. Some people don't care about trying to get unemployment especially if they have money coming from other sources.

I was one if the best workers at amazon. Once I left, they lost one of their final and best employees. There were great employees who left before I did. Their own fault for treating us like robots
Sorry, I would never quit a job without having another one lined up. That's like pretending you didn't need your paycheck or had any use for it. Also, the employer will contest any unemployment benefits, and the nation is experiencing a time in which daily and monthly expenses are higher than ever thanks to the impacts of various gov't actions. Any money you've got saved will quickly decline in amount every week you are out of work. Also, over the last 18 months, good jobs are fewer in number. I say all this as a person who has worked in some very difficult and upsetting work environments due to horrible people.
The only way that you are going to get paid for what you are worth is by doing your own thing. I'll be honest with you, with the way of these jobs are so politically driven, the 9-5 is not a favorable place for men to advance and grow. Men, especially Black Men are better off making money independently.
