I have the Insta360 One and got the firmware 1 week after I bought it. I love that camera. Just as you said the app makes it so easy to use. Keep up the good Ben. Cheers.
Awesome đ
Thank you so much your very understandable comparison video.
Your information helps me alot.
Now I'm looking foward to 2019 model.
I'll keep track of your new videos to check it !
Thanks for the shout out Ben! I think the issue with Yi is that if you dont have a Windows PC you are left only with mobile and as you said, with mobile it is mediocre. I'll do another updated review to show more about it because i think the video detail is really excellent. Best regards, Mic
360Rumors.com i would agree here with Mic. For photo this camera is not that good. But for video it's a bargain at that 399 price. The worlkflow using pc is easy.
Great- looking forward to it! Yeah I think for Mac and iPhone users itâs unusable, and thatâs 50+% of 360 camera owners there. But for PC users it could definitely be a viable option đ
Not only does the Yi360VR shoot high bitrate 5.7k 360 video, but its Windows app "Yi 360 Studio" uses optical flow to make nearly-perfect seams. I've worked with a lot of 360 footage, and the Yi360 is shockingly good for the price. Do fire up a virtual or real machine and give it another go.
I've managed to get Yi 360 Studio to successfully stitch footage on MacOS using Wine, but it's difficult to use as parts of the software interface aren't rendering properly and so it must be operated blind.
The Yi also seems to have good heat management. I've done very long captures while recording to a 128Gb SD card with the camera connected to an external USB battery.
I zip tied a Samsung Gear 360 onto my Phantom 3 standard and got interesting results. What do you think?
czcams.com/video/n4JwUI5VHak/video.html
I really thought the Insta 360 one would make good videos but it can not replace a gimbal with a decent action cam. The image quality looks like potato mode.
I watched a dozen of reviews by now and no one of you guys do actually action driven outdoor stuff. What a shame because then you would INSTANT see how bad this camera actually is.
My GoPro 3 Black with a 3 axis Gimbal make much better shots than this.
Got my GoPro Fusion en route. Delivery expected friday! Looking forward to putting it on my racecar
Awesome đ
I went with the insta 360 one and the new update is sweet! Before purchase I did my homework but you helped my decision! Thanks Ben
Awesome đ
Thanks Ben, i like how you analysed with the pros and cons of each camera, really worth the time spent, from the newbie.
Glad to hear it đ
Excellent, Thank you I am so glad i bought the Insta especially now with the firmware update, I also own the Theta S , I bought this as it had good reviews and a superb form factor and have no regrets and again with new firmware its great.
Nice choice Neil đđ
Loving my GoPro Fusion. Thanks for all of the helpful advice. Latest update has overcapture working on my Galaxy S7. Photo and video quality is superb. Recently was filming at the beach and a rogue wave came and sucked the camera into the ocean. Luckily I was able to grab it before it went out to sea, but sure am glad the camera is waterproof!
Great review! I have a Rylo and love it and had no idea of the insta 360 one. Checking out reviews now. I may pick it up to have a 3rd 360 camera. I also have the Samsung 360 (2017) version. Appreciate this!
Cool- also check out my updated video âTop 10 360 Cameras in mid 2018â
I bought my Insta360 when it was first released. I have had so much fun with this camera. It has got my creative juices flowing again. Keep up the good work!
Glad to hear it!
I'm liking my GoPro Fusion :) I discovered what the Fusion software really wants. It wants a very strong GPU to process the video on a computer. The Fusion software makes better use of the GPU than lots of other video editing software.
Yeah đ
Richard's World Traveler Loving my GoPro Fusion as well. Video and photo quality is great.
does it have 360 ?
I love my fusion, but I can tell you, the fusion software does like GPU power but it loves fast storage as well, if you are stitching in 5.3k. If in just 4k, then fast storage doesn't matter too much.
Awesome comparison as always Ben! Fusion is my favorite and I own it! Theta is probably second.
Thanks- two great choices đ
360...Wow now that's opened my mind. I've seen it but not really understood it or the cameras. Love your presentations I look forward to learning more. Thanks Ben
Super happy to hear it!
I feel totally vindicated in my Christmas purchase of an Insta360 One. Literally the only thing I don't like about it is that the quality when re-framed could be better, but for the price I'm more than happy to wait for an 8K camera to become affordable. The stabilisation is AMAZING and with the most recent update is easily as good as the Rylo but at half the price. Best entry-level 360 camera IMHO.
đđđ
Wow great review. I am about to head to Switzerland to hike the TMB. Thought I should take a 360 even though I have no idea how to use one. I am going to buy the Insta360 one because of this review. You are a pleasure to listen to and I trust you are looking out for all of us:). Thank you.
Thanks Diane, enjoy!
Excellent Choice - I ordered a Insta360 one and it should be here in the next few weeks đđ
Nice đ
hope you only have one channel on yout CZcams account otherwise it will not work for Live streaming, just purchased one, found out the HARD WAY, I contacted support, they said it is a feature not available.
Normaly i dont comment videos. But you put a lot of effort in this video. Even the video goes 20 min, i loved every second. It was nice and compact, i got all my infos... thank you a lot, helped me really to choose the right one :)
Great, happy to hear it!
I bought the lg360 when it came out, I loved it. Part of why I wanted it was to make CZcams videos and use on my Harley.... That failed really with the vibration. I recently found the Ryle and have been watching their progress....then out of nowhere the insta360 pops up..... I think I'll be getting the insta 360 as soon as I can đđ»đđ»
Awesome!
hope you only have one channel on yout CZcams account otherwise it will not work for Live streaming, just purchased one, found out the HARD WAY, I contacted support, they said it is a feature not available. DM me if you have real questions
Great review. I was originally thinking I wanted to buy the Fusion, but after watching your video decided to go with the Insta360 One. I did want the quality of the Fusion, but think the cost and easy of use with the software make the Insta360 an easy choice. Hopefully, they continue to innovate to improve video and photo quality.
Thanks, agreed!
Awesome video!!! I bought the Rylo 360 yesterday but I'm returning it. Although the stabilization is amazing, there are 3 things that killed it for me. 1. You can't charge while filming. 2. It only works with a couple SD Cards (very particular), 3. The app is amazing, but my phone can't store an hours worth of video, and there's no way to make the app used the external memory card. Also, 4. The app (android) crashes, 5. the water proof case is expensive, 6. I can't find after-market batteries.
Thanks- for me point 3 is the most annoying.. storage is always an issue. But still itâs an amazing cam if you can get past that.
I have my 360 2017 from samsung for like almost 3 years and i didnt get any bad thing i think its better of most of your 360 cameras even in the quality
I ordered Mi Sphere with the link you provided after watching this video. đ I hope I'll enjoy the world of 360 as you do.
You will- nice choice đ
Couldn't agree more with the Insta 360 One, I'm glad it was my first 360 camera, killer feature for me was live streaming events and gigs, the new update is great but still has a few bugs, looking forward to receiving the Fusion tomorrow as I've been waiting months for this! Clients are loving the addition of 360 to my photography and hopefully the fusion lives up to it.
Thatâs awesome to hear- and good choices đ
excellent video!! i'm still using the original Samsung Gear 360 (2016). I completely agree that having one beats not having one. It's much easier to take 360 photos with a real 360 camera than using my smartphone to stitch a 360 photo.
Yeah
Ben, sorry to hear about your Gear 360 2017. I bought mine within the last few months mainly because it was in my price range. I have mounted it to my Mavic Pro via a GoPro mount and have done a few tiny planet flight videos. I hope mine lasts but thanks for all the info on the different cameras. As long as my Gear 360 keeps on going I won't be looking for another camera but if I ever need one I will check your channel for the most current and accurate information.
Nice one đ
Thanks for your reviews - great stuff! I've had the insta360 one about a week now and think it is going to be great. Only a couple of disappointments concerning workflow. Most of the editing features are missing on my iPhone 6 (or I am not smart enough to get them to work). Editing using insta360 studio works but without tracking and without the stabilization leveling. I.e., if I hold the camera at a 45 degree tilt and process the file in studio, the horizon is at a 45 degree tilt. I have to process the file first on the iPhone 6, export it and then edit using studio. I'm due for an iPhone update and am hoping the 8 will allow me to use all the editing features.
Thanks Daniel- try bringing the unstitched .insv files into Insta360 Studio for stabilization etc.
Big thanks Ben, for video, as always. My favorite is Mi Sphere.
đđđ
Thanks Ben, Always enjoy your reviews. Do you find the Insta360 one or the Rylo better in overall picture quality and especially in low lightings? Thanks again. Keep up the great work!
Thanks- thatâs a tough one because theyâre both cameras that excel at video but not photo. I guess Iâd say the Insta360 just for the increased resolution đ
I really like my Xiaomi Mi Sphere (thanks to you). The only real default is the battery too short...
Itâs about equal with the others- great camera though đ
Thanks for the great video! It's really useful to see a direct comparison of each camera. Do you have any plans to look at the Lenovo Mirage? It's not 360, only 180 but with 3D. It's a cool format that might give really interesting results.
Thanks- I havenât heard of it but Iâll definitely look into it đ
I have a Gear360 and it experienced the same power on issues. I noticed it on February 20, 2019 after it sat on my shelf for 3 months. Just keep plugging it with different USB C cables and use the USB / USB c adapter. I plugged it with an Apple cube wall power adapter yesterday (March 5, 2019) and it finally registered the power on. I suspect there is some oxidation on the power terminals so plugging in and out may have brushed off the oxide off the terminals. It will eventually power on. Good Luck.
đ
Your too good Ben thanks great vid as usual, do you think the 360 companies are chasing each other on the video end of 360, maybe itâs me but 360 photos are my thing, in your opinion has this advanced as much in the last year as video, brilliant to see you giving a shout out to the 3 other guys as deserved, yours truly WK đđ»đđ»đđ»
Cheers buddy, yes video is definitely advancing faster than photo đ
Great Review! Could u rank top 3 based on video quality and stitching/editing only? I use a pc on the stitching and editing.
Thanks- Fusion, One, Theta V, Mi Sphere (4 lol)
Hi as usual great video ...
Just one thing I hear from you and I think will be samething important on your review ....
It's about portability... as you say a camera that can't be allways with you will never will take any good photos ...
And as you say madv and one are the best choice .. but for me madv fits on my pocket and it's wather resistance... to important thing for a consumer, hollidays camera
I one where more slim and wather resistance will be the winner... I f you love videos the app it's great
Thanks buddy- Mi Sphere is the best option then đ
Awesome comparison! Love the Mi Sphere
Thanks- me too đ
I love my mi sphere camera works so well every update gets better fact they even released a remote for it now to so you hit record with out having to connect with your phone.
đđđ
Iâm getting the insta360 one. I want to record bike rides and other 360 stuff. Thanks for the info!!
Cool đ
Hi Ben, Great video again. Could you tell me which of the 360 cameras in your BUY LIST you prefer to use on 360 virtual tour for a pro shoot?
Check out the video I made about this exact topic
Thanks for another great video.. So... would a 2015 iMac retina work well with Fusion? I guess no? So I spent the budget on a new 360 camera..? Mavic air.....
Thanks. Listen to the Fusion section again, where I talk about computer speeds. Also watch my Fusion review đ
I think it would be handy to add in lens replacements to your future what to buy videos. To me, field replaceable reasonable priced lens kits for the virb is a huge feature if your using it in some more high risk situations. It may not be special feature wise anymore, but that lens kit is a stand out option.
I agree itâs awesome, which is why I mentioned it. None of the others really offer it.
I totally agree - most of my youtube videos are made with the Instra360 one. The software is so easy to use and so quick!!! Even on the iPhone it is extremely fast. I use it in my darkroom too and you can see that it is getting grainy, but you can still see in very low light. For that price a winner for sure!
Awesome- agreed đ
Companies have to understand, that it is about the ease of use - nobody wants to lose time during post processing these days. The earlier I finish my video, the earlier I can Netflix and .... ;)
Cheers to that đ»
The purchase link states: "For iphone and ipad..." Does the i360 work with Android too? Thanks, and great review (and yes, your low-light/mixed-light kicker at the end really introduced confusion for an indoor architectural shooter like myself, but still love the review (and everything is better than my original Kodak 360)). Cheers!
I have failed to get the insta360 One to work with any of Samsung S6, Moto G4, or LG G5. It seems it will only work with a VERY limited subset of Android phones, and insta don't seem interested in changing that. OTOH the insta360 Air works on all three of my Android phones.
Completely agree. The updated Insta360 One is so much better now! Great video...
Cheers Mike đ»
Great video, awesome how you keep up to date with all the firmware changes and revisit your opinions keeping your viewers up to date. A question on the Insta360 one that you recommended. In the timelapse video you posted of it running in the park, the chroma was horrible and the video itself looked very unnatural. Is that a good example of what it is capable of or do we just have different tastes as to what looks good?
Thanks- Iâll try to get some more samples out soon đ
BTW Ben Iâm using Garmin Verb editing software for my Ricoh Theta V because I cannot afford the premium editors. Are there any others I could try?
Do you mean for reframing? Insta360 Studio is my software of choice for that. I donât use free video editing software so I can recommend anything unfortunately
Thank you for your great review! Bought a insta 360 one!!!
Nice đđ»
Looking at the GoPro Fusion... I've got every model of the Theta sitting in my cupboard unused.. I also have a 6x Gopro rig.. it is horrible to use though and the post-processing is very labour intensive.
Fusion is great, Theta V is also great if you have that
Great review! Creating conflict produces good video. So, I think you forgot the Theta V offers something that no one else seems to care about. Sound! I have a lot of musical friends. Getting the sound right in camera is important. Add that to good low light capability. Think that's a big advantage. If I was to give up sound, the Xiaomi Mi Sphere would be my second choice.
Thanks Brent, yes many of them have spatial audio now.. lots of options there đ
Itâs Paul again. I really enjoy your videos and thank you for your speedy reply. I just ventured my drone business into the 360 Tour market and I am not very happy with the Madventure for interior business restaurant shots. What would you recommend to replace it for better still pictures? Iâve watched all of your videos so can you tell me what you would buy right now?
Hi Paul- would suggest watching my video âwhich is the best 360 camera for virtual toursâ đ
Been considering one for cycling, I really appreciate the in depth review
đ
I wanted to purchase a 360 camera like a year ago and i didn't... Now that i have the possibility of doing it, this vid definitely puts me up to date. Thanks a lot mate!!
Awesome đ
I need a 360 đ· for shooting virtual tours of hotel rooms. Could you please suggest me the one that can provide the best quality. Also many time the lighting condition inside room can only be dependent on artificial light. Please help
Hi mate, thanks for your review. I've never owned an action cam and about to make the first purchase for our USA Vacation (Disney, Vegas, Sea World, Universal Studios, Fresno, Sacramento and San Francisco) in August. I have narrowed down my selection between GoPro 6 and Sony FDR-X3000. Overall, what is your expert opinion on what should I buy? Many thanks again.
Sorry but I know nothing about those cameras.. my channel is about 360 cameras đ
Great video. I came searching the samsung 360 v2 which I am thinking of getting to replace 2 Yi Discovery cameras (front / rear) that I use for cycle commuting. I will probably get that for the cheap ebay price (< ÂŁ100), IP57 rating, USB-C charging and I have a samsung phone. As much as I dream of it, I don't actually do anything exciting enough to warrant good 360 and I have a decent (Nikon Coolpix A) camera for stills.
đđđ
Ben - thank you! Your videos are excellent and very helpful. You are the Pat Flynn of 360 đđ
Hey thanks- donât know who that is but Iâll take it as a compliment lol
My favourite is the insta360 one and I am buying it this week but I found it cheaper at apple for almost the same price but with the tripod, selfie stick, bullet time handle and a protective case for 329 US dollars and 429 Canadian dollars
Nice đ
Hi, super nice job as always. I own the mi sphere, but Im going Egypt in June and want to bring back quality 360 footage. What would be a nice step up ? Is jumping to the fusion enough ? I will shoot inside temples as outside panoramas, and some diving too, is the fusion waterproof?
Thanks- check out my Fusion review! I think itâs a great choice for what you described đ
Another great info filled video, thanks. We had the gear 360, until the lens glass scratched and the y want me to send it to hong Kong, from the UK to get it fixed. in a word no. not worth it. So, after your reviews, I'm looking at the Mi-Sphere, but my only reservation is I can only seem to buy it from Asia on line, meaning if this fell over and got scratched, I'd have to send it back across the world to get fixed. But it does seem a cool camera
The Mi Sphere is a great choice- just be careful and you wonât have to worry about it. Not worth waiting in my opinion!
What would you recommend for fast motorcycle ? The insta 360 is 30fps. I am looking for 360 camera so I can use the 360 footage as if I have multiple cameras. Flick to different angels and forward and backwards eg....Prob needs to be 60fps and at least 4K. Sound is another problem in camera.
Check out my One X video
Hey man thanks for the video! I want to buy one for my wedding! Should i just buy the insta360?
For video, Insta360 One or Fusion, for photo, Theta V, Xiaomi or Fusion
one thing to remember about every 360 camera is lense distance. so many "experts" on 360 cameras overlook this. The closer the lenses are to each other the better the stitching will be. This will make a near invisible seam when looking back at the video (pictures not so much because of photo spoofing during the auto stitching process of any camera). This is why I absolutely hate the virb because it is so thicc and why I love the gear 2017 over the 2016. I'm personally rocking the fusion because it simply has the best color sensor and best stitching while staying in a conosumerish range. I'm looking at getting the theta V mainly for livestreaming and battery life (another thing "experts" over look). All that said, I do like your quick opinion review of the camera lists.
Maybe you should become an âexpertâ and teach us what weâre missing đ
Thanks for another great video Ben. I'd be keen to see a short review from you on the Essential Phone's 360 cam, especially as the whole package is pretty cheap now. Insta360 One has certainly moved forwards in leaps and bounds, but the overall picture quality is still pretty 'meh' in my opinion. Only the Fusion appears to produce video that's on par with typical action cams, so I'm most excited about the next iteration of consumer cameras (hopefully later this year). Also, GoPro should probably just pull an 'Insta360' and copy Rylo's method of editing clips for their Overcapture. Looks miles better. Thanks again Ben!
Agreed đ€đ»
Ben, thanks a lot for all the information you put out it has been incredibly useful to me. I noticed that the instant 360 for android is out. I may actually be interested. Currently I have a gear 360 which is working well for getting into 360 photography. I may well be interested in upgrading with the idea of taking more interesting images having it plugged into the phone with definitely be a plus.
Thanks Joseph- just be careful and research the compatible phones for it as that has been an issue for a number of android users
Thank you for the comparison now you make me want to get another one. I have just bought the Theta V and have been testing it for the Google Streetview program. It is a way to shoot video of an area upload it to Google Maps by way of the Streetview app and contribute your own personal additions to Streetview. It is a niche application but some of your viewers may be into that kind of thing. I have posted a how-to video on the way that it is done if there is any interest. I was forced into the Theta V since I wanted the Streetview capability and it is the only one currently available to do it with. Google wants everything mapped in Streetview so there will be a lot of activity on this in the future as far as I can see.
Nice one David- Theta V is great đ
A couple of features unique to the Theta V that were not covered are the ambisonic capability and the ability to send images to a television using the camera as a remote. Would this have improved it's rating?
PS I'm still using a Theta S, and this video was great to help me choose my next 4k camera.
great video, really informative. i am looking for the one that captures the best still image. what one would you suggest
Thanks- check out the photo samples in the description to get a better idea of what they do.. if photos are your priority then definitely consider Theta V, Fusion, Mi Sphere đ
Good. please guide me, what software do you use to edit and export 360 degree videos?
Your video is brilliant in every way. I am now sorely tempted to get the Insta360 One, and have two questions:
1. Quite a few customer reviews (e.g. on BHPhotoVideo) mention that the One doesn't come with enough instructions to help us use this camera to its full potential. If so, are there other 3rd-party resources online to help us?
2. Is it true, the battery life is 70mins? One use I will have for this is to shoot rock concerts of 90mins or more (from onstage at my piano). Can the One manage that - maybe when linked to an iPhone or iPad? Also, what size card would I need for that? Oops, that makes three questions. TIA!
Thanks- yes there a lots of tutorials on CZcams, also all 360 cameras have a battery life of 70 minutes max. For low light situations like rock concerts Iâd suggest the Fusion or Theta V đ
Very good job. can you make a review for what you consider to be the best 360 camera for drone? for the portable drones like Mavic Pro. Thank you and continue the very good job of yours. thank you. by do way I'm from Portugal.
Thanks, yes Iâll consider it đ
I want to mount a 360 camera to the bow of a canoe and possibly to my white water kayak. With that in mind what would be the better? I have an old MacBook it doesn't handle 4K well so the GoPro may have issue, but I usually put my footage to a 6TB external storage and use proxy media in FCPX.
If you have a slow computer then Iâd probably suggest Garmin VIRB.. itâs waterproof and pretty easy to deal with in post đ
Question: what would you recommend for Primary students creating content for the Google Tour Creator - they are recommending, the Theta which is handy because it can come with a mic, which is always a problem to add narration in class.
Hi Russell, the simpler the better.. if you can afford Theta then great, otherwise Insta360 is a good simple option
Ben go some case in my pockets is it worth waiting or buy the fusion, i have the Theta and Insta one and was looking at the Mi what do you think, buy or wait til September....Thanks
Honestly I think it will be a while before something better than Fusion comes out
can you help me how to edit the video in 360, because i just want the video with ration in 16:9 but the gopro fusion default video is 360, i tried to turn stabilization on but the camera isn't focus on me, the stabilization makes the frame stand still so when I move the camera won't focus on my face and it creates a stickline, sorry my english is a bit bad because i am vietnamese but i hope for your support, thanks
I own the Fusion, in terms of picture quality only does the insta 360 one matches the fusion? I'm thinking of buying one especially because you can edit straight from your phone which you can't with the fusion. I'd love to edit those pics on the go.
So should i buy one as a back up camera or am i just wasting money?
Picture quality is nowhere near the Fusion. Check out my video where I compare the Fusion against 6 other cams
You mentioned the case it comes with (the one) was too small ... did get fix that ? Also you mentioned in another video that the one was not as sturdy... as some of the other 360 cams ... any improvement in that regard ?Thank you in advance for all your great reviews
Hey- the design hasnât changed unfortunately
The gopro Fusion is perfect for me, love use and create with it đđ»
Awesome
Thanks Ben, keep us intouch. Ä°t's always important to know the Market!!
No worries đ
Thank you for this detailed review. Have you played with the Vivitar 360 Action Camera? Any feedback? Thanks in advance.
No I havenât heard of it but will keep an eye out
Thanks.
Hey!!! I really enjoyed this video, thanks for putting in the time and effort making it! :)
I had a few questions, as of now (late September 2018) is the Insta360 One still your best pic for a consumer camera under the $600 price range? Also, when you record with this camera, does the software use the gyroscope sensor data to autocorrect for the horizon (like if the lens is pointing downward will the video stiching correct for the horizon)? Do you know the Insta360 One's blind spot distance? Like between lens to lens. And my final question! If you were to mount a dual lens 360 camera to something like a drone or a mountain bike which camera is the current best out there under $600? Thanks again! I really hope you read this đ
Hey- check out my updated video as it will answer these questions, itâs called Top Ten 360 Cameras in mid 2018. Also see my Insta360 One review
There's already a vuze +?! Damn, I'm glad I didn't sink a grand into that thing. I was pretty hyped for it when I first saw the test footage, and I definitely would love to do 3d 360 videos for viewing on a headset, but man the size of the files and the speed of your computer to deal with 3d 360 is gonna be ridiculous. So yea, it'll be a few years before I jump on that. But I can't wait, one day we will have 16k 3d 360 videos and it'll be insane.
I'm glad you added that last bit, and that you compared the one to the mi sphere. Cos I had been convinced by your mi sphere Vids I'd go for that, but now I may go for the one.
Tho I currently have an android phone and a mac book so I'm not doing myself any favours in terms of my work flow.
Also waiting for that day đđ»
We were trying out this project recently using the Ricoh Theta S but couldn't create a proper HDR since it doesn't have RAW support for images. What 360 cam would you recommend for RAW image capture? (automatic stitching support for free on top would be a plus) (edit: it's a vfx-related project, so we're looking for proper dynamic range...aside from doing it with a DSLR)
Check out my video about shooting raw, otherwise use HDR rendering within the Theta app
thanks for this. i would like to use a 360 camera to make HDR images for global illumination in Blender. do your top picks offer HDR?
Not sure what blender is but Theta V and Fusion are best for dynamic range
Wow great comparison! This was really helpful to me!
Great to hear!
Best under low light ?
I'm looking for the best quality video under low-light conditions, which of these do you recommend ? I heard from various reviews that the insta 360, although a great camera, it's not so great in low light, as it supposedly has a lot of noise. What's the best under low light ?
Theta V
Hey Ben! Great informative video esp as I was stuck on which one to go for. My minds settled on the Insta360 and I wondered if there is another way to connect it to an android phone (mine is a note 8) without buying the adapter (as I use a chunky battery case on my phone so I'm afraid the adapter won't fit with the phone case on!!) Would you know which cable/usb adapter I would have to go for? Thanks
Hi Tracey, Iâd ask this in the Facebook group as there are compatibility issues with a lot of android phones. To be honest itâs not going to be easy haha
A 360 camera optimized for videos that would record plugged in power for long duration (about 2 hours). Mac and PC friendly. Which one fits in this context?
Mi Sphere, Fusion
Hey, great video! Any idea on the Huawei envizion 360? Looks small and pretty promising
Thanks- no idea about it yet
Great vid with all the camera, have you tested the insta360 one water proof case? Have seen a couple of bad reviews of leaks? Thanks.
Thanks- no I havenât unfortunately
thanks Ben for the great review it is so informative ... I have a question ... which one would be the best in shooting underwater while scuba diving ... in conditions where the lighting is challenging ? .... thank you
Thanks- definitely Fusion although try to find an underwater housing for it so the stitching improves
thank you for your reply .... unfortunately gopro have not made an underwater housing yet for this model nor any other manufacture have made a 30+ m housing yet.... what would be your second choice ?
Have you heard of the âWunder360â ? It's a budget 3k cam that has motion detection and you can edit the view angle afterwards with an app. I'd like to know what you think of it...
No I havenât! Will keep an eye out
So I am trying the Madventure because it came with the selfie stick and tripod and I like the visual orange so I can find it. While I'm busy at work I shot one video walking to my truck and it stitched and I was able to make a tiny planet and now I just need to understand what the heck I'm doing!! Think it will be fun, going to the ski slopes in two weeks.
Good luck đ
i use the essential phone snap on camera
apart from the OS bugs the camera does fairly well
but given that it's specifically designed for the phone and has a built in fan, the darn thing heats up within 5 minutes
but it's one of the cheapest 360 deals you can get
i mean a sleek phone and a 360 cam (0=
i might consider getting a mi sphere eventually
Nice!
I still think the Insta360 image quality isn't up to snuff.. Definitely cool software and capabilities...but for me, IQ is more important. I got the Madventure and "pretty" happy with it... Just wish the RAW stitching was easier/cheaper (i.e., 3rd party software not necessary). I gotta admit though, I keep second guessing myself and looking at Insta360....(still in return window for the Madventure. LOL) . BTW: Noticed my Madventure got a firmware update last night. Not sure what changed...
Agree!
Thanks for giving good reviews. Do you think insta 360 one footage compatible with virb editing software? I am referring to add overlay on my cycling video. Thks
I donât think so
Note you say 360 isn't taking off due to viewing issues for most folks, May I suyggest you take a look at Collect 360 (android) video editing app, 360 to rectilinear with pan & zoom like the Insta360 app
Yes Iâm very familiar with over capture.. infact I wrote a book about it!
Hey Ben, started my 360 journey using an Insta360Air and am looking forward to upgrade my cam.
I am confused between Insta360 One and Madventure.
I own an Android fone, Honor view 10.
How good is the android adapter for insta360 one?
Which one should i go for?
Thanks im advance mate.
Go Mi Sphere!
The stitching on the Insta360 One is not the best. Does the firmware update improve the stitching? Is the Theta V still better for close ups and have the better stitching? Great work! Thanks.
Hey- not really.. because the camera is so thick the stitching is what it is. Theta all the way!
Which 360 action can starts recording the fastest from being off? I don't like to miss my shot and I've found from regular action cams that start up can take a significant amount of time.
Iâd say the Garmin VIRB. If you watch my review it takes about 6 seconds. I think Fusion takes about 10
The GoPro Fusion is finally available in Spain, so... birthday!!!!
Woohoo đ
pjorge Fusion is awesome!
Another awesome video. Thanks so much for your work dude. Hey these cameras record legit 360 sound that follows where you are looking or do you need a separate audio device for that? Cheers!
Thanks- some do and some donât. Just gotta look out for âspatial audioâ if thatâs important to you đ
LIFE in 360 Aargh dammit the MiSphere only has a mono mic :(
Can you tell me which is the best for prolonged recording...more than 1 hour continuously? My Samsung would heat up and stop after 20 minutes. I wanted reunion footage around a table.
Iâd say Mi Sphere or GoPro Fusion.. although plug them into power if you can as they will last 45-60 minutes without it
I am looking to get a 360 camera to start offering VT for interior's for real estate. Would the insta360 one be a good camera to start with?
Nah.. check out the video I made that answers this question đ
