After looking up a lot of 90s movies I've been craving lately. It seems like people in general don't commentate or react to 90s movies except for the biggest ones. I want to see ones for both Problem Child movies, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Curly Sue (I think that one is 80s though), Harriet the Spy, Fresh, there are a lot more I can't think of.

One of the best soundtracks EVER. Yes it’s kind of dumb and very unrealistic. But This movie changed my life when it came out when I was 15.

Jax was looking at you like yep she is crazy, when you were playing with the voice changer it cracked me up. Fun fact Jonathan Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie got married not long after this film was mad but it did not last, so I guess they did crash and burn. They are still friends til this day.

Don't worry, Phreak isn't still in jail. There was a deleted scene that was filmed and then cut that showed the group hanging out together at Cyberdelia before Dade and Kate's date. Phreak is seen there with an attractive woman (who was the person he was talking to on the phone when Dade was trying to ask him where the office was when we first see him). The scene is still in the novelization of the film and the CZcams channel Hackers Curator had an interview with Phreak's actor, who mentions the scene was filmed. So, he was released, and him, Nikon and Cereal gave the win to Dade to he could go on the date.

When this movie came out my friends and I were obsessed with it. Unfortunately it didn't age well. I still love the soundtrack though.

Soundtrack slaps. Visual effects, while unrealistic in representing hacking, had a lot of practical work. They actually built those Gibson sever filestore things

Little trivia: The game Dade and Kate are playing at Cyberdelia is an alpha version of "Wipeout", a hovercar racing game that came out for the Playstation 1 a few years later. In fact, it was advertised at the time in nightclubs with dedicated gaming rooms...which caused controversy when the ads came out. Cause as we all know: Clubs = Drugs.
I actually played it myself. Looks different than the alpha, but fun. And the soundtrack (by Cold Storage) is just as bopping as Hackers'.
It's crazy given how technology has developed and how much more important the internet has become that there hasn't been a new hacker movie. Imagine the stories you could tell with a modern hacking movie.
That would be dope... they need to make one asap
Angelina Jolie was my childhood crush in the 90s when this movie was released, and I was just 11 years old then.
She is a great actress
