_YET ANOTHER BRILLIANT LOGO COMPILATION!_ Just like 1930s, the 1940s are a good time for films like Citizen Kane (1941) and It's a Wonderful Life (1946), but a horrible time for World War II until 1945, plus what happened to Nagasaki in Japan during that year. With that out of the way, also just like the 1930s, the logos from the 1940s are also interesting:
• Most of the logos have brilliant use of live-action model work and practical effects.
• 4:18 has great use of stop motion animation. I'm a sucker for logos using stop motion animation in them...
• the "gongman" logo at 18:09 might arguably be the best logo out of all the logos from the 1940s. It has a pretty iconic concept.
• even though 18:36 doesn't have any animation at all, it's brilliantly designed and it's great to see it in colour.
• the BBC Television Service ident at 21:52 is yet another one with a brilliantly done design.
• ah yes, the Universal globe logo (22:34). How could we forget about that one? Along with the 20th Century Fox logo, this is a pretty iconic logo.
• the Мосфильм logo (26:03) might count as one of the greatest logos from Russia. It's also used for a very long time, all the way up _until the 2000s!_
• 28:12 _fantastic use of traditional animation_
• 31:06 ah yes, the Warner Bros. shield logo, another iconic one!
However, the Mehboob logo from India (14:21) makes me ask: "how come there's a communist symbol in their logo if India was _never_ a communist country??".
