RARE! Oakland International Airport Plane Spotting

- A rare look at OAK, Oakland California International Airport. There are not too many good vantage points to view airplanes taking off and landing. The best time is when the weather is bad and the winds come from the South, the planes then land and takeoff in the opposite direction than they usually do. This makes it possible to video the landings up close.
I flew a Norwegian B787 Dreamliner from Oslo to Oakland awesome trip i loved it

The 787 flights happen at lease one or more per day at Oakland. Rarest you’ll get is a 777 British Airways that I saw passing my house on radar inbound for oakland.

i know because on the flight board at the airport it has one flight from london gatwick airport on that airline
Norwegian flies from Oakland, to Oslo, Stockholm, London Gatwick, Barcelona, Copenhagen and wil start up to Paris and Rome during 2018.

Several locations but mostly on a parking lot by the end of the main runway.

Just went to this spot, but did the land somehow get taller? For some reason you can’t see the runway and the planes gear from the exact spot anymore
Not sure I understand your question, but the planes land on runway 12 only when the weather is bad and the winds come from a Southerly direction. Otherwise they land on the other end (runway 30).
@@MoulfritProd yes, I only really spot when runway 12 is in operation. I believe they haven’t trimmed the grass since atleast 4 years ago because now the grass facing the spot has overgrown, tower over the gear of the planes from normal perspectives
How old are those FedEx planes, you see a lot of those red nose planes cuz Oakland is a cheaper airport to fly into in comparison to sfo.

i know that the norwegian flight is coming from london gatwick airport
KRNO almost had a Gatwick flight however the Homeland Security investigation showed the modifications they would have to make to our terminal would be too massive to be cost effective.
